First World Problems

1. With the death of Funimation, the dubbed captions that were on their site are presumably all just getting wiped away too. I like to have captions on, even when I'm watching something in English, and the ones Prime has for former Funimation titles are obviously AI-done. They're pretty much unreadable and full of missing words, misunderstood words, messed-up character names, etc.

2. I got the idea to read Bluey fanfiction and it's made me sentimental. This happens to me occasionally with well-written romance, but I get into my own head about the fact that I don't know if I'm ever going to love somebody like that...again. I know I'm only 22, but god, am I tired of all the crap that gets thrown in my direction - I want to write off people as a collective some days, let alone pursuing romance, and yet I'm charmed by cartoon dogs.

So I’m working on teaching certification, and one thing I had to do was present a lesson in a classroom. So I did that, and the host teacher scored me on a score card. Now I have to write up a reflection on what I did well and what I could do better next time. Here’s the problem: the teacher marked me as “excellent” for everything. Either she just didn’t care (which is doubtful) or I’m just that good. It sucks being perfect….

I just found out Disney+ is also trying to prevent password sharing, which also really sucks. At times like this, I wonder if I should resort to more dubious means of watching shows/movies, but I also want to watch them of a bigger screen instead of a monitor. Then again, there are also devices for solving that problem. I should probably do some reading about all that.

We're merging the graphic novel and manga sections together at my work (I work in a library). This is an absurd decision, in my opinion, not because of some perceived weeb purity culture "I don't want your gaijin touching my precious manga", but because:

1. We have so many graphic novels of varying spine sizes the entire section is just going to a mess now.
2. People who are looking for manga aren't necessarily looking for graphic novels, and vice versa.
3. We have more manga readers and people who actively browse our manga. Merging the two sections isn't going to increase graphic novel circulation, it's just going to make the section overwhelming and unwelcoming for those who currently use it.

Yesterday, I broke my Arale-chan (from Dr. Slump) Figure-rise model.
:(

I made it about 5 years ago. I've moved her around a bit in that time, and often, whenever it fell over, I had to take my time putting her back together, and it seems even a slight amount of movement makes some of her pieces come loose (especially around her head).

Recently, it seems that the robot "skeleton" armature inside Arale's right hand got lost.

Then yesterday, when I was moving some of my toys around, Arale fell, and broke her right leg. When I tried to fix her, her head came off and I couldn't fit it back, and broke her neck trying to jam it in.

I'm quite chagrined by all this. Years ago, I contemplated buying more of the Dragon Ball-related Figure-rise models, but I only ever got Obatchaman (also from Dr. Slump), but have yet to assemble him (I happened to get him right before the Coronavirus quarantine started).

Has anyone else had similar problems with looseness in assembled Figure-rise models?

It annoys me when friends or relatives send me a text message that's an entire paragraph long. Text messages are for short bursts. If what you want to tell me is longer than 2 sentences, either call me or send me an email.

YouTube TV is a terrible value for what you get. No MeTV/MeTV Toons, Boomerang, RetroCrush, or FAST channels that are interesting - but we do have FAST channels, so it's not a limitation they intentionally have. They're just crap (there's one just for The Walking Dead universe).

The counterargument is always "it's cheaper than cable after all the fees," but that's getting further from the truth with every new price hike that occurs every time they add some random crap channel that nobody wanted.

I wouldn't be using it if my grandparents weren't paying for it/needed my occasional assistance with operating it. It's mainly my grandfather who uses it, and it's easier to let him stay with what's familiar than trying to teach him something completely new.

I bought a pack of sliced cheese about 2 weeks ago, and it just got completely moldy. I was finishing another pack of older cheese that wasn't moldy, so I didn't open "newer" pack just yet. Irritating me further was the expiration date posting as this December.

Dictionary.com declared “6-7” as word of the year. I think we’ve officially hit rock bottom as a species.

Samsung TV Plus' Sailor Moon channel has started having a 24-hour Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals marathon every time they run through the series. There's already a main Naruto channel that occasionally airs it (but strangely not Shippuden), and the Jojo/HxH channels don't have this problem. Why would a Sailor Moon fan want to watch a Rock Lee spinoff that even Naruto fans don't want to watch?

I dislike by the fact that we now mostly shop for Lidl whenever we shop for supermarkets. The stuff there is incredibly cheap (including knock-offs) and they're Aldi's competitor. I really miss the days of Sainsbury's. They have better products compare to Lidl.

I was hyped for the One Piece Popeyes meal, but they didn't bother to put in the Luffy box, gave me cold food, and the cupcake was impossible to open and was trying to tear my nail polish off.

Last June, on the last day of school, I dropped a desk on my toe. My toe was pretty bruised up for a while but it later healed. A few months later a small purple spot appeared at the base of my toenail. As time went on, the purple spot has moved up and it’s about a little above halfway. The nail has started to break off at the purple spot and I’m afraid it’s going to get snagged on something.

RetroCrush has seemingly decided that their FAST channel is anime-only, as they changed the name of it on their site to "RetroCrush Anime", and their daily lineup now has eight hours of Astro Boy instead of the Sonic series or other animated series that were mostly filling up the morning.

I admittedly turned it off a while ago when it'd been playing on my TV nonstop - I had no problem with the way things were running and the Sonic series, even Sonic Boom. However, they decided to put on Slugterra, one of the ugliest things I've ever seen, at a time when people would reasonably be awake. I would have no problem with Spider Riders (which they recently acquired), but that's not coming now since it's Canadian. Eight hours of Astro Boy...and if they make a separate channel for non-anime, it'll be too loaded down with crap for me to leave on. I'm not even sure if RetroCrush has enough to justify it since there's already a 24/7 Sonic FAST channel.

I have this one particular t shirt that whenever I wear it I always spill something all over it. Today I was at a restaurant and spilled teriyaki sauce down the front of it. Another time I wore it to the movie theater and spilled blue raspberry Icee on it.

Tubi sounds appealing as it has plenty of old shows and movies (including animated, though I'll admit I haven't really looked through its library of movies) that I either haven't watched or would like to revisit. Since there's no subscription fee, that means sitting through ads which I've become accustomed to avoiding. Sure, the total ad times are overall shorter than traditional broadcast tv, but I still don't enjoy seeing whatever I watch getting interrupted. I used to watch older movies on tv and put up with commercials, but I don't know how many ads would accompany a 2-hour movie.

I could watch Tubi on a computer with adblock, but I wanna watch on a bigger tv screen. And I don't have a laptop to connect to my tv.

The Amish grocery store by our house that my dad and I like to go to for snacks and stuff burned down.

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
