My cast for Nichijou, dubbed by Sentai Filmworks:
Nano Shinonome - Melissa Davis
Hakase - Hilary Haag
Yuuko Aioi - Maggie Flecknoe
Mio Naganohara - Jessica Boone
Mai Minakami - Serena Varghese-Gonzalez
Sakamoto - Andy McAvin
Izumi Sakurai - Emily Neves
Misato Tachibana - Lesley Tesh
Koujirou Sasahara - Greg Ayres
Tsuyoshi Nakanojou - Adam Van Wagoner
Annaka - Stephannie Wittels
Daiku Kenzaburou - Corey Hartzog
Manabu Takasaki - Chris Ayres
Davis and Haag's roles = seen from a mile away. I already mentioned that they had good chemistry before. It'd be interesting to hear when Nano goes all Mom-like, as Davis definately has that kind of tone to it.
Wasn't really all that hard. Boone as Mio might be the spotlight stealer, as Boone can sound innocent...then ridiculously threatning as well, ss she can do the "creepy low range" voice, to boot. Why Flecknoe as Yuuko? Something different for her. Not often do we hear her being the miserable one for once.
The supporting roles weren't dfficult, either. While Greg Ayres as Sasahara won't make him sound like the orginal version (honestly, his deep voice doesn't suit him, in my opinion, he just sounds too old this way), his hammyness will work a bit more better here. Some goes for Tsuyoshi (the mohawk dude), who, for some reaosn, has a woman voicing him. And while he could be played by Luci Christian, I don't think him sound girlish will work at all, so I went with, you know, a male voice actor.
By the way, whenever Davis, Haag, Boone, Varghese and Flecknoe are together (I cast them...pretty much almost always), if they are connected to a main role, I call them "The Texan Female Squadron", as a play on their company's name (Sentai is a way of callign them, squadron, task force, etc), as they are their best actresses. Helps that they've been loyal on the Houston area.
