"DuckTales" (2017) Series Talkback (Spoilers)

They're changing the name of an episode:

I guess the word "massacre" isn't exactly "family-friendly".

I'm not against the idea of using the word "massacre" in a kids show, but why use it for an episode where no one dies.
It's a shame since it means that the show won't be free on the OnDemand now.
I was able to watch "Beware The Buddy System" on there, though it might be different for each service provider.

Well, it's official

and yet they didn't bother to remove the Disney XD Original production logo from the episodes, but they probably will sooner or later

I'm just wondering why they titled it that in the first place. It doesn't fit. Not for the episode premise, not for the tone of the show, or for anything that is related to those 22 minutes. That was definitely the worst episode title of the series.

I'm not sure about the title, but the episode is apparently inspired by the 1979 film, The Warriors. It's about this group going on a 30 mile trip back home when they get blamed for the murder of a gang leader. The title itself most likely alludes to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. The title is probably metaphorical in that the Beagle Boys' good spirits are massacred. The title is still unfitting though.

The Missing Links of Moorshire!

An hilarious episode, another Dewey episode after we just had one last week. I want to meet this black Donald Duck.

All the characters shined here with Huey and Launchpad doing commentary, Louie being himself and taking Flintheart for what he is worth and Webby being so adorable trying to cheer Scrooge on. Great to see Flintheart again, he messed up his own rigged coin flip.

So we got two magic horses voiced by Tara Strong and Andrea Libman, so stunt casting indeed. And what is with these Disney shows with making magical horses jerks, first Gravity Falls and now this.

Scrooge being jealousy of Dewey makes sense, and him realizing that at the end and believing in Dewey was a nice touch. This episode was good, not good as last week's episode, but still the show continues to be on a roll.

Once again, I saw it on Disneynow and it was hilarious. I don't want to spoiled everything, so you guys have to wait until tonight at 8pm.

DuckTales "The Missing Links Of Moorshire!"

Truthfully, not the greatest episode ever, but it had a ton of great jokes. Like an unusual amount. And this show usually has LOTS of great jokes.

About half of the great jokes involved the kelpies. From them being described as "murder ponies" and talking animals wearing clothes being Webby Heaven, they stole the show. Totally.

Louie was great. Always sticking out his hand to Glomgold to get paid. Louie is probably my least favorite of the nephews on this show, but there is no denying his apathy often leads to funny jokes.

Speaking of which, the episode described golf in a way I have never heard it described before. And once it was described this way I'm wondering why people play this game at all. Essentially in golf, you are trying to lose with the lowest score possible, while making the game go quicker so it ends faster. And when you hear it like that, it's no fun at all. And I love that this show does jokes like that, that make me question a known sport or scenario in an entirely different way, simply because it's from the perspective of a modern kid. And I love that about this show.

What happened to all of the other people who became statues earlier? Shouldn't they have come back to life too? Hmm.

"If you pull a club out of a Scotsman's hand, you'd better be prepared to knock him out with it." Great line and delivery by David Tennant there.

Everybody turning to stone at the end reminded me of everybody turning to gold at the end of The Golden Goose.

Funny episode. ****.

The Missing Links to Moorshire: Glomgold is really pathetic in this series in comparison to the original. I wonder what happened to the hire mercenaries? I hope they come back. I loved the kelpies. They were hilarious with their attempts to drown the others and how they were annoyed about everyone beating them to explaining on what was happening.

The Missing Links to Moorshire: Forgot to mention this, but considering Scrooge's attitude about someone else being better at something than him. Now he knows how Zeus felt when Scrooge visited his island.

DuckTales "McMystery At McDuck McManor!"

Ghost Duckworth? I can dig it.

I love that Ma Beagle is very unimpressed with Mark Beaks as one of Scrooge's rogues. Her and I are not so unlike.

I realized what Donald Duck's relationship to this show is: He's Bill Murray in every movie he's ever made. His role always seems to be frustratingly small, but he owns the brief time he appears, and you want to immediately see more of him when he is gone. Another similar TV character is Creed from The Office. The Office was smart enough not to overuse Creed the way 30 Rock did Kenneth (who we wound up sick of). Is that this show's plan? Time will tell.

I love the idea of Black-Arts Beagle. I love the idea that some weeks we'll get a random Beagle Boy we never heard of before, and will probably never hear from again. They could milk a ton of premises with that notion.

Good episode. But I want more Donald. Now. ****.

McMystery at McDuck McManor

I loved this episode, it is Scrooge's birthday and he hatest birthday party. So of course Scrooge has more enemies than friends, they are the only people Louie could get, of course. And I love Dewey's DJ persona.

So it was Scrooge who set up his own disappearance, thanks to Duckworth. Yup he is a back, he is a ghost, just great. And I love how in the end Webby and Mrs. Beakly are so chill about it. And Ma Beagle, is not high on Mark Beaks, hilarious.

Anyway I really love this episode.
