"Dragon Ball Daima" Series Talkback [6/14-11/1]

Namekian Pompeii.

I always thought bugs were high in protein.

Yeah, Piccolo, here there be monsters.

Who does its nails?

Cut him a break. He was literally born yesterday and you just throw him into a fight.

This might affect your Christmas bonus.

I always just called him Carl.

Manifest destiny at work.

Glinds were born like gems from Steven Universe?

I think it's time for his stories.

lmao, they lost another ship. And almost lost the Dragon Ball.

Wow... Majin Kuu... sucks at fighting. I guess they got lucky when Buu got made?

Double wow with the lore drop about the multiverse having been created by a Super Majin on the orders of a good-natured Supreme Demon King. Now I wonder how it led to Omni-King ruling the Multiverse or the Angels or the Gods of Destruction. Namekians were slaves. Oh. Huhn, the Namekians sure found a planet just like their original one in the Demon Realm. Too bad it... y'know went kablooey. Wait, did they ever revive the planet with the Dragon Balls post-Freiza-saga?

lol, even the Kraken looks like a Buu.

Hybis says it like it is. He's a hoot.

Uh oh, what's Neva want now?

Goku enters the Demon Realm's 2nd World in the 10th episode of DBD. The episode starts with Kuu & Arinsu in the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle in the Demon Realm's 1st World and Kuu challenges Tamagami 1 for the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball. Tamagami 1 (voiced by Alex Hom) asks if Kuu is certain he wants to fight him and once Kuu confirms this, Tamagami 1 accepts Kuu's challenge. As Kuu battles Tamagami 1, Goku's group reaches the Yellow Sir Warp in the Demon Realm's 3rd World and are able to successfully enter Sir Warp's pocket dimension; they are also successful in tricking a small Sir Warp when he notices they aren't members of the Gendarmerie despite using a Gendarmerie airship by Panzy claiming they have family members who are members of the Gendarmerie.

Upon reaching the 3 color-coded hatches in Sir Warp's pocket dimension, Shin points out that the fact that the Gendarmerie airship they took hasn't been reported stolen yet gives them a chance to sneak their way into the Demon Realm's 1st World which Panzy agrees is a valid point. Goku, on the other hand, points out that that they'll need to travel to the Demon Realm's 2nd World in order to obtain the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball which Glorio confirms to be true. Goku thanks Glorio (who has to remind Goku what his name is when Goku forgets and calls him "Grillo") for taking his side in this debate. After Shin reassures Goku that that Dende's kidnappers aren't likely to kill Dende because they didn't when they had the chance, Goku feels even more confident about heading to the Demon Realm's 2nd World.

Vegeta, Piccolo, Bulma & Hybis are heading towards the Yellow Sir Warp in the Demon Realm's 3rd World after reclaiming the airship with a "mid-size passenger load". Piccolo bringing up that Dende is currently a baby and that the Earth's set of Dragonballs will need time to recharge leads to Vegeta conceding that Goku may have a point about using the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs to undo Gomah's wish. Bulma takes on a moment to relish how her skin feels after Gomah's wish and she thanks Hybis when he compliments her skin. Vegeta takes issue with both Hybis asking Bulma to be his girlfriend (while also saying he doesn't "mind sharing" with Vegeta) and Bulma considering staying as a kid; when Bulma suggests letting her stay a kid while undoing Gomah's wish for everyone else affected by it, Vegeta insists they undo Gomah's wish on both of them…which Hybis takes as a sign of what Vegeta finds attractive and Piccolo noting Hybis "read [Vegeta] like a book". Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Kuu continues to battle Tamagami 1.

Goku's group have arrived in the Demon Realm's 2nd World (which has a green sky, much like Planet Namek) via a Blue Sir Warp much to Gomah's dismay and Panzy marvels at how it differs from the Demon Realm's 3rd World while Shin admits his memories of when he was previously here are starting to come back to him. Glorio notes that the Demon Realm's 2nd World doesn't have any heavy air like the Demon Realm's 3rd World did which means the Gendarmerie airship can go even faster and he also notes that Tamagami 2 isn't far from their current location. Shin's returning memories lead to him asking if there still any Krakens around and Glorio confirms this to be the case. Shin takes the time to explain to Goku that Krakens are giant water inhabiting creatures that will attack anyone who flies too close to the water surface while Panzy admits that she's heard many stories about the Krakens.

Suddenly, 5 Gendarmerie airships ambush Goku's group and Goku is eventually forced to fly outside to take down the 5 Gendarmerie airships personally. Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Gomah & Degesu use the magic monitor to watch this unfold and they're both surprised by how powerful Goku is even after being turned back into a kid which leads to Gomah ordering all remaining members of the Gendarmerie to return to the Demon Realm's 1st World immediately. The ambush caused the airship Goku's group is using to drift towards the water surface…which leads to a Kraken attacking the group. Goku's group waste no time escaping the Gendarmerie airship…only for Panzy to return to retrieve the Demon Realm's 3-Star Dragonball before the Kraken eats it; fortunately, Goku is able to save Panzy before the Kraken eats the Gendarmerie airship much to Gomah's dismay. Goku, Shin, Glorio & Panzy are forced to fly themselves now but Shin suggests they wait for Vegeta, Piccolo, Bulma & Hybis to eventually arrive in the Demon Realm's 2nd World…and the Demon Realm's Namek is nearby which Shin notes can act as the perfect waiting place.

Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Kuu continues to battle Tamagami 1…only for Kuu & Arinsu to both realize that Tamagami 1 has the clear advantage in this fight. Back in the Demon Realm's 2nd World, Goku's group arrive on the Demon Realm's Namek and Goku notices how it bares a strong resemblance to Universe 7's Namek (as well as New Namek); Shin suspects that the Namekians who originated from the Demon Realm took some Ajisa Trees with them to plant on their new home planets in the Mortal Realm as the reason for why the Planet Namek(s) of the Mortal Realm resemble the Demon Realm's Namek which leads to Goku noting how the Namekians who originated from the Demon Realm would've been especially devastated had they known Frieza would eventually blow up Universe 7's (1st) Planet Namek. Goku begins to feel hungry and is disappointed that the Kraken ate the Manpuku Dumplings & food they had on the Gendarmerie airship…only to remember that he still has the bag of Medi-Bugs on his person. After offering some to the others (who all decline), Goku eats a Revive Bug which despite tasting bad does restore his stamina as advertised while also helping to alleviate his hunger.

Shin notices just how abandoned the Demon Realm's Namek is and Glorio explains how after the Namekians who originated from the Demon Realm left, the water became polluted. Suddenly, Goku senses the energy signatures of Vegeta's group and decides to go see them to guide them to the Demon Realm's Namek; Panzy is confused by how Goku knows about the others' arrival when he can't see them and Shin briefly explains how Goku can sense energy signatures while Glorio muses how Goku is "an odd one". Goku finds the airship with a "mid-size passenger load" shortly after Bulma admits the Demon Realm's 2nd World looks nicer than she expected and he tries to warn the group about the Krakens…only for a Kraken to attack them. Fortunately, Hybis is able to fly the airship away from the Kraken before it has a chance to eat the group.

Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Kuu accepts that he can't defeat Tamagami 1 and concedes defeat. Tamagami 1 returns to his original position while Arinsu & Kuu fly off in an airship…all before a few members of the Gendarmerie arrive to checkout the source of recent noise. Arinsu harshly states how unimpressed she was with Kuu and plans to fire him but Kuu urges her not to be so hasty by pointing out his impressive speed would make him great for running to the store (while also saying he has great singing talent). Meanwhile, Goku guides the airship with a "mid-size passenger load" to the Demon Realm's Namek which leads to the 2 groups reuniting.

Like with Bulma, Piccolo has to point out to Goku that this is his 1st time being on the Demon Realm's Namek although he does admit there is still a feeling of familiarity as he looks at the home of his ancestors. Bulma takes notice when Panzy calls Shin by his real name of "Nahare" and recalls Planet Kaishin (the Glinds' home planet) is located in the Demon Realm's 2nd World which leads to Goku providing Bulma the necessary context. When Bulma asks Shin why most of the Glinds left the Demon Realm, Shin proceeds to reveal that there was a good Supreme Demon King (who had blue skin in contrast to the red skin Dabura had) that entrusted a "Super Majin" named "Rymus" (who bares a strong resemblance to Grand Zeno the Omni-King from DBS) to create the Mortal Realm/the multiverse. Various inhabitants of the Demon Realm immigrated to the Mortal Realm's various universes to "stake their claims" and Rymus entrusted a select group of Glinds to oversee the multiverse's settlers & aid in the multiverse's development by having them take the position of the Supreme Kais of the multiverse while most of the Glinds "settled on a planet near Rymus" should Rymus ask for their help, as well; Anato (Universe 1's Supreme Kai), Ogma (Universe 5's Supreme Kai), Fuwa (Universe 6's Supreme Kai), Iru (Universe 8's Supreme Kai), Gowasu (Universe 10's Supreme Kai), Cae (Universe 11's Supreme Kai) & Agu (Universe 12's Supreme Kai) are shown onscreen alongside Shin as he explains how the position of Supreme Kai came to exist. When Bulma asks if all living beings have ancestors who originated from the Demon Realm, Shin clarifies that there are living beings whose ancestors originated from the Mortal Realm (such as Saiyans & Humans).

Shin continues to explain that travel through the Mortal Realm/the multiverse & the Demon Realm via Sir Warp used to be more easily accessible but Dabura's father, Abura (who looks like a fatter version of his son), had placed the current restrictions on Sir Warp out of fear of the possibility of an invasion from the Mortal Realm; Shin also clarifies for Bulma that he was still in the Demon Realm when Abura was Supreme Demon King shortly before he was chosen as a Supreme Kai. Goku recalls how the Glinds are born from 1 of 5 Glind Trees and Shin confirms this is true but adds that all 5 Glind Trees have died out; Bulma realizes that means it's only a matter of time before the Glinds become extinct and Shin somberly confirms this is true. When Hybis brings up how Degesu & Arinsu are Glinds while complimenting Shin for being smart, Panzy recalls how Degesu & Arinsu are Shin's siblings; Hybis shows some sympathy towards Shin after hearing this while describing Degesu & Arinsu as jerks which is a sentiment Shin completely understands. Bulma asks Shin if he wants to revisit the Demon Realm's Kaishin while they're in the Demon Realm's 2nd World but Shin acknowledges there isn't anything left to see on the abandoned planet anymore and suggests they continue heading towards Tamagami 2 which Vegeta agrees with an aggressive enthusiastic manner; as the group board the airship, Bulma suggests Glorio pilot the airship which Hybis agrees to after Bulma assures him her suggestion is because Glorio seems more familiar with the Demon Realm's 2nd World while this is Hybis' first time here. The episode ends with the group unaware of the fact that Neva had been watching them while they were on the Demon Realm's Namek.

I found it rather amusing how Goku ended up spending 7 episodes in the Demon Realm's 3rd World since that number is the amount of Dragonballs for most sets. Besides entering the Demon Realm's 2nd World, the most notable detail about this episode is the lore about the creation of Mortal Realm/the multiverse. Given his strong resemblance to Zeno, I'm guessing Rymus is Zeno's predecessor and maybe even Zeno's father (or, at least, ancestor). The existence of the good Supreme Demon King also shows that not all the rulers of the Demon Realm were evil. It was a nice touch having some of the DBS Supreme Kais be shown while Shin was explaining how the position came to exist; the knowledge that the Glinds will eventually become extinct makes me wonder what that will mean for any future Supreme Kais in the multiverse. In the end, Kuu wasn't powerful enough to defeat Tamagami 1 much to Arinsu's dismay which makes me wonder if Kuu will be getting a "sibling" in the near future. It makes sense that Neva would be on the Demon Realm's Namek and the episode's ending suggests he's preparing to "formally" greet them. With this episode, Toonami has now aired the first half of DBD.

Wondered all week what was so important that Panzy had to risk her life going back to the collapsing plane, but guess saving the Dragon Ball wasn't a bad idea. Majin Kuu should have probably had some warmup fights before taking on the Tamigami, plus I wonder what the old Namekian has in store for our small heroes.

A wild Namekian appears!

Episode 11: "Legend"
Having regrouped with Vegeta and the others, Goku and his companions arrive at a planet that seems familiar. As they move to head out, a suspicious shadow approaches! It's the Legendary Namek who remained alone in the Demon Realm!

No spoilers.

Last time: A homecoming of sorts. And Frieza already long dead.

"A Dragon Ball? I haven't seen one of those things since the war!"

Nothing gets past Piccolo.

He thought that turning them into children would stop them from coming here?

You kids today don't know how to make evil plots!

We Namekians are a pacifist race...mostly.

Maybe a couple of you could fly alongside?

You kids keep it down back there or I'll turn this plane around!

Yeah, give someone power and it just goes right to their head.

Oh, give baby Vegeta his bottle already.

"I've been wishing my whole life for a brother!"
All two episodes of it!

Majin Duu looks like Majun duu-duu if you ask me.

Happy birthday!

"I want some chocolate!"
His first words! They grow up so fast.

Was that seed you put in there from a gum-gum fruit?

Do the Duu!

What Vegeta lacks in strength he more than makes up for in persistence.

And now two fights are happening at once.

"This guy's going off!"
Trust me, his fuse ain't even lit yet.

Oh krak, it's a crappen!

In Soviet Second Demon World, calamari eats YOU!

So Neva doesn't seem like a bad guy: uses the senile act, made the Tamagami to ensure the Dragon Balls were used wisely, seemingly told the truth the dragon has to be summoned in Namekian like Porunga, Piccolo's dad's name revealed. But idk... I don't totally trust him yet. What's to say he doesn't plan on using the wish for himself like restoring the Namekian's land?

"Namekians don't use their powers for conflict" All stare at Piccolo. LMAO.

Ok, made another Majin. Duu seems to share Buu's love of chocolate. Seems to be a better match against Tamagami No. 3. Certainly his moves are catching him offguard.

ROFL, Tamagami No. 2 dissed Vegeta from the start. I think the odds are good that Kraken is gonna die next week. Probably gonna go Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. Hmm, would be neat if we saw a Super Saiyan 3 Kid Vegeta.

The battle for the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball begins in the 11th episode of DBD. The episode starts with Neva approaching the airship before it leaves the Demon Realm's Namek and Panzy takes notice of it which leads to the others stepping off the airship to "formally" greet him before leaving. Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Gomah & Degesu use the magic monitor to watch this unfold and they're both surprised by Neva approaching the group. Neva immediately takes notice of the group having the Demon Realm's 3-Star Dragonball and puts on the act of being senile by singing the opening lyrics to DB's opening song…until Piccolo says he isn't fooled and directly asks the elderly Namekian if he's Neva.

Neva admits it's rare to see a Warrior Type Namekian and notes that Piccolo reminds him of Katas (the Nameless Namekian's father) which leads to Piccolo revealing his familial ties to Katas; after asking Piccolo's name, Neva admits he finds it to be a strange name before asking Piccolo what the group is doing in the Demon Realm. Piccolo answers that he's certain Neva already knows the answer to that and even vocalizes his hunch that Neva expected this to unfold when Gomah brought him to Earth to recharge Earth's set of Dragonballs ahead of schedule (all while tricking Gomah into thinking he was senile); Neva compliments Piccolo for having figured out what's going on and the act he was displaying. After Piccolo asks why the Z-Fighters were turned back into kids (turned back into babies in the case of those who were already kids), Neva explains that Gomah made the wish out of paranoia that the Z-Fighters would invade the Demon Realm…all while assuring Piccolo that a more ruthless request on Gomah's part would be "lost" in "brain fog"; Neva admits he anticipated Gomah would kidnap Dende but assures Piccolo that Dende wouldn't die because the Demon Realm considers Namekians to be "highly [valuable]" which Gomah acknowledges. Neva admits that he was surprised by select members among the Z-Fighters coming to the Demon Realm to collect the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs which leads to Goku explaining that they plan to summon the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon to wish to be restored to their proper ages before rescuing Dende and Neva sees the logic behind that plan.

After Neva asks, Goku answers that they only have the Demon Realm's 3-Star Dragonball but are on their way to the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball. Neva is still in amazement that Goku successfully defeated Tamagami 3 and admits he didn't anticipate the Z-Fighters to be powerful enough to challenge the Tamagami, especially after they were de-aged by Gomah's wish which leads to Panzy asking Neva if he created the Tamagami and Neva confirms this to be true; Panzy notes that this suggests Neva is powerful enough to usurp Gomah and Neva responds that he doesn't consider Namekian powers to be "a weapon wielded in worldly conflicts" which leads to the Saiyans & Bulma to stare at Piccolo…much to his annoyance. Glorio comments that they should resume their quest by pointing out that the Gendarmerie ambushing them is a sign that Gomah has been tracking them…which leads to Neva asking to join them; Panzy isn't on board with this request because of the tight capacity for the airship but Neva reveals that a wish to the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon must be translated into the Namekian language and Bulma recalls how that was also the case for making a wish to Porunga. After Piccolo admits he's forgotten the Namekian language after being on Earth for so long, Neva points out he's the only one who can translate their wish for the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon and the others agree to honor his request.

Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Arinsu has finished explaining to Marba that Kuu wasn't able to defeat Tamagami 1 after returning to Marba's House with Kuu. Arinsu has returned to Marba with the hopes of creating a new Majin with more emphasis on Buu's essence when compared to Kuu. After some hesitation, Marba does agree to make another batch of the contents that created Kuu but adding all of what they have left of Buu's essence into the mix this time around. Marba is also willing to plant the Saibamen seed 10cm (3.93701 inches) into the contents of the cauldron this time around…but Arinsu wants to plant the Saibamen seed 20cm (7.87402 inches) into the contents of the cauldron this time around. Marba objects to Arinsu's demands out of fear that Buu's essence being too prevalent could lead to this new Majin being harder to control but Arinsu cares more about this new Majin being powerful enough to defeat Tamagami 1 than she cares about how easy it is to control this new Majin.

Back in the Demon Realm's 2nd World, the group have figured out the new seating arrangements in the airship as they head towards Tamagami 2. Bulma & Panzy ask Neva a few questions before Shin asks Neva why he stayed in the Demon Realm and Neva answers that he's fond of his home and wants to keep watch over it if (or, as he hopes, when) other Namekians return; Bulma asks Neva why he created the Tamagami and Neva answers that it was his way of making it harder for "less virtuous individuals" to use the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs for nefarious purposes. Vegeta insists on being the one to fight Tamagami 2 because Goku already fought Tamagami 3; when Goku asks Neva if a different person is allowed to fight a different Tamagami, Neva answers that the Tamagami will accept a challenge from anyone as long as it's a one-on-one fight. Neva admits he's surprised that Goku & Vegeta actually want to fight the Tamagami which leads to Shin explaining to Neva that Saiyans find fights to be thrilling.

Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Marba pours the contents of the cauldron into the stone outside her house before Arinsu adds her saliva to the mix. After Marba instructs Kuu to carefully measure how deep to plant the Saibamen seed, Kuu asks if this new Majin would be considered his younger brother and a surprised Arinsu admits he could look at it that way which makes Kuu happy (all while Arinsu admits she doesn't know why Kuu would think she would care about something like that). After the Saibamen seed is planted & watered, the new demon is fully created with Marba dubbing him "Majin Duu". Duu's design could be described as looking like a fusion between Fat Buu (as well as Good Buu, by extension) & a Saibamen wearing Super Buu (as well as Buff Buu & Kid Buu, by extension)'s clothes.

After making some random noises & motions, Duu (voiced by Aaron Campbell) admits he wants some chocolate. When Marba admits to Arinsu that she doesn't have any chocolate, Kuu offers to buy some chocolate from the store; after Arinsu gives Kuu some money to buy chocolate, Kuu goes to & from the store in a matter of seconds. Duu thanks Kuu for the chocolate…only to also eat the chocolate Kuu got for himself; Kuu, for his part, takes it rather well as he sees "fighting over snacks with [his] little bro" to be part of the dream. Duu then asks Arinsu what she wants him to do and she instructs Duu to challenge Tamagami 1 and obtain the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball; Duu agrees to follow these instructions which Marba finds successful but Arinsu admits to having some doubts.

Back in the Demon Realm's 2nd World, the group eventually reach an island where Tamagami 2 is standing in a small fountain at the edge of a cliff while holding a trident. Meanwhile, Arinsu brings Kuu & Duu to the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle in the Demon Realm's 1st World and Duu challenges Tamagami 1 for the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball; Tamagami 1 asks if Duu is certain he wants to fight him and once Duu confirms this, Tamagami 1 accepts Duu's challenge. Kuu cheers Duu on and Duu thanks Kuu for the cheering while Arinsu wonders if Duu is "all there". Despite his eccentric demeanor, Duu is able to put up more of a fight against Tamagami 1 compared to Kuu.

Meanwhile, Goku's group land the airship on Tamagami 2's island and Vegeta warms up via stretches. Panzy fills Bulma in on how the Tamagami operate and although she saw Goku defeat Tamagami 3, she still has doubts on if Vegeta can defeat Tamagami 2 but Bulma assures Panzy that Vegeta can go toe to toe with Tamagami 2 all while Gomah & Degesu use the magic monitor in the Supreme Demon King's Castle in the Demon Realm's 1st World to watch the upcoming fight. Vegeta approaches and challenges Tamagami 2 for the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball but Tamagami 2 (voiced by John Swasey) doesn't take Vegeta's challenge seriously due to Vegeta currently being a kid…until he sees Neva among the audience. After an apology and introduction, Tamagami 2 accepts Vegeta's challenge.

Vegeta & Tamagami 2 begin the fight in earnest all while Glorio, Panzy, Gomah & Degesu are all surprised by how much of a fight Vegeta is putting up against Tamagami 2. Not long into the fight, Tamagami 2 manages to cut Vegeta's cheek with his trident before launching "energy slashes" from his trident. Meanwhile, Duu continues to put up a fight against Tamagami 1 in the Demon Realm's 1st World. Eventually, Tamagami 2 manages to knock Vegeta into the water…which attracts the attention of a Kraken; although Vegeta manages to escape the water, the Kraken rises to the surface to follow after Vegeta. The episode ends with the Kraken eating Vegeta after he gets swatted away by Tamagami 2's trident.

With this episode, Toonami has started airing the second half of DBD. The group traveling through the Demon Realm "formally" meet Neva and we find out that he's actually been good along as he's been pretending to be senile in order to trick Gomah while also creating the Tamagami to hinder evil beings from using the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs. After being initially mentioned in DBZ by Grand Elder Guru, Katas is mentioned again and it turns out he's old enough to have been one of the Namibians who originated from the Demon Realm. Piccolo calling Katas his father reminds me of how the franchise seems to constantly change its mind on whether or not Piccolo doubles as his father/Piccolo Sr.'s reincarnation as well as his son or simply the son that Piccolo Sr. transferred his powers too. Arinsu continues to prove how determined she is to usurp Gomah when she's prioritizes power over control with regard to the creation of Duu. So far, Duu doesn't seem to be uncontrollable the way Buu was and he's certainly physically stronger than Kuu. It appears as though Kuu & Duu are being set up as a "Brains & Brawn" Duo as well as a "Speed & Strength" Duo to complement each other. It makes sense that Vegeta would get a "significant" fight in DBD and I imagine it will be concluded in the next episode.

Guess it's not fair if Goku does ALL the fighting ... but Vegeta looks to be in a bit of trouble. And the new Buu seems like he can't fully function without a candy bar break every so often.

Aack! Un-release the Kraken! Un-release the Kraken!

Episode 12: "True Strength"
Vegeta's battle with the Tamagami is evenly matched, but forced underwater where he's not used to fighting, he finds himself struggling! Vegeta is cornered and sinks to the ocean floor. But then he finally unleashes his true strength!

No spoilers.

Last time: Could have been worse. Could have been Bulma.

Yeah, fly up close to the monster who just ate your friend. Smart.

Must have disagreed with something that ate him.

"Screw this, I'll send out for Doordash."

One gets Vegeta while the other gets the wad of bubblegum.

You're not you when you're hungry.

Hey, that'll force a disqualification!

"Looks like the Tamagami is fighting someone!"
Gimme twenty on the big green guy!

*hums Popeye theme*

"Come at me!"
BROOOOOOOOO!

I think I need multiview for this episode.

"Now for your final trial...MENTAL MATH!"
A train leaves station A and heads north at 70 mph...

Some people just have a knack for rapid sums.

*cues Bruce Faulconer SSJ Vegeta theme*

SSJ3 Vegeta!

All work and no play makes Vegeta a sharp boy.

Vegeta parting the green sea.

Was this world based off a kids' CD-ROM game?

Guess you don't just have muscles in your head after all.

Come on, Vegeta, you're a visitor here. You could at least sample the local cuisine.

For a moment I thought you'd broken another plane.

"Well, in that case..."
What he will do in this case next week.

That was pretty in line with DB humor that Duu just needs chocolate mid-battle to keep fighting. I thought maybe he would learn he can turn beings into chocolate but not yet...

The mental challenge was insane math (supposedly it's real world math riddle). Duu must have super eidetic memory along with the math skills needed. Good thing this wasn't Goku's party... ;)

Called it! That was so awesome to see Vegeta go Super Saiyan 3 after decades of fans thinking what that form would look like. Wonder if anyone thought it would be as Kid Vegeta though. Nice bonus he used Garlic Gun! It was amusing Goku was bummed now knowing he is no longer ahead of Vegeta, lol. Totally knew he would. But of course, we know this continues into SUPER. But got a feeling SSJ3 won't be enough to defeat Duu and Kuu if past precedent is any indication. Perhaps we'll see the fusion bug put to use...

Snakes don't eat cookies. ROFL. And this show doesn't teach you anything. :p

More refined? heh heh.

So heading into the final episodes, Arinsu will likely order Glorio to betray the Goku and co. and steal the two Dragon Balls as part of her master plan. Will Glorio do it though? Idk. Technically they could bribe him with a better offer than whatever Arinsu offered him or perhaps he simply bonds with them and decides not to?

The battle for the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball concludes in the 12th episode of DBD. The episode starts with a Kraken eating Vegeta after he gets swatted away by Tamagami 2's trident. Fortunately, Vegeta manages to escape from the Kraken's mouth and transforms into Super Saiyan (1) to evade the Kraken while continuing to fight Tamagami 2 simultaneously. Eventually, the Kraken manages to eat Vegeta again after he gets pushed away by Tamagami 2's energy blasts.

Vegeta transforms into Super Saiyan 2 to escape from the Kraken's mouth this time and the Kraken decides give up trying to eat Vegeta after this attempt fails. Vegeta is able to put up a better fight against Tamagami 2 while in Super Saiyan 2 Form and Panzy mistakenly believes that Vegeta can "do magic" just as how she mistakenly believes Goku can "do magic". Meanwhile, Duu continues to fight Tamagami 1 in the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle in the Demon Realm's 1st World. Eventually, Duu stops fighting and demands chocolate which angers Arinsu while Kuu runs to the store to get some chocolate; Tamagami 1 wastes no time taking advantage of Duu not fighting back.

Back in the Demon Realm's 2nd World, Vegeta continues to fight Tamagami 2. Panzy is impressed that Vegeta can also put up a fight against the Tamagami and Neva is also impressed enough that he decides to use his magic to give Tamagami 2 a power boost. When Piccolo asks why Neva powered up Tamagami 2, Neva says he decided to give Vegeta more combat after bringing up how Shin explained to him in the previous episode that Saiyans enjoy a good fight. Eventually, Vegeta & Tamagami 2 take their fight underwater.

Back in the Demon Realm's 1st World, Tamagami 1 chases Duu around the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle. Several members of the Gendarmerie gather in the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle to watch the fight while Gomah & Degesu use the magic monitor to watch Vegeta fighting Tamagami 2. The fight in the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle causes the area to shake which Gomah & Degesu notice; the duo use the magic monitor to see what's going on and Gomah is surprised to see someone is challenging Tamagami 1. Kuu returns with a bag full of chocolate and gives a chocolate bar to Duu who now fights back against Tamagami 1. Gomah is certain Tamagami 1 can't already be fighting the Z-Fighters and Degesu uses the magic monitor to zoom in on Arinsu being among the audience watching the fight.

Eventually, Duu manages to land a blow powerful enough that leads to Tamagami 1 surrendering. Tamagami 1 compliments Duu for his victory and explains that there is a "final challenge" to determine whether or not the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball will be obtained much to Arinsu's confusion; watching through the magic monitor, Gomah wonders who Duu is while Degesu wonders what Arinsu is planning. The "mental battle" Tamagami 1 prepares for Duu takes on the form of "mental math" where Tamagami 1 will show a series of numbers on a magic monitor in rapid fire succession and Duu is supposed to add all the numbers shown while stating the total sum of said numbers. Even Arinsu has trouble keeping track of all the numbers much to her anger…but Kuu is able to keep track of all the numbers and he whispers the answer (683,775,029) to Duu who repeats it without Tamagami 1 knowing how he came up with the answer. Tamagami 1 gives the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball to Duu who gives it to Arinsu in turn; Kuu is surprised that Arinsu didn't realize he was the one who figured out the answer and told Duu but he decides not to push the subject.

Using the magic monitor, Gomah & Degesu see Arinsu taking the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball onto her airship with Kuu & Duu. Gomah is furious while Degesu is in disbelief by this turn of events. Degesu tries to convince himself that Arinsu obtained the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball to hinder the Z-Fighters but Gomah points out that Arinsu wouldn't go out of her way to help them without an ulterior motive. Gomah is angered by the fact that the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball is the only one from the set to not be obtained yet by anyone and Degesu uses the magic monitor to check on the fight between Vegeta & Tamagami 2.

Back in the Demon Realm's 2nd World, Vegeta continues to fight Tamagami 2 underwater. Eventually, Tamagami 2 manages to grab Vegeta and blasts him at point blank range which causes Vegeta to return to his Normal Form. Tamagami 2 lets the unconscious Vegeta sink to the bottom of the ocean but Vegeta quickly regains consciousness and transforms back to Super Saiyan 2 before resurfacing alongside Tamagami 2. In the sky, Vegeta powers up again…which results in him transforming to Super Saiyan 3; while Goku & Gotenks gain long hair that flows down their respective backs while in Super Saiyan 3 Form, Vegeta's long hair from the form stays standing up like it normally does in his other forms. Goku is surprised to see Vegeta has unlocked Super Saiyan 3 and Bulma explains that Vegeta had continued training even after Kid Buu was killed, suggesting he unlocked it during the year in between then & now.

With the power of Super Saiyan 3, Vegeta is able to easily overpower Tamagami 2 and even breaks Tamagami 2's trident. Eventually, Vegeta launches a Galick Gun to distract Tamagami 2 before hitting him with a punch powerful enough that leads to Tamagami 2 surrendering. Vegeta returns to his Normal Form after Tamagami 2 surrenders and the group cheers while Panzy is surprised that Vegeta successfully won the match. Neva muses how the group is "full of surprises" before giving a gentle laugh.

After fixing his trident, Tamagami 2 explains to Vegeta that there is a "final challenge" to determine whether or not the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball will be obtained. The "mental battle" Tamagami 2 prepares for Vegeta takes on the form of Vegeta having to answer a question asked by Tamagami 2 within 10 seconds. Tamagami 2's question takes the form of a story about someone sharing cookies and how many cookies did one of the characters in the story get to eat. Vegeta answers with 0 cookies left and although his reason for coming to that conclusion is unusual…the answer still ends up being right.

Tamagami 2 praises Vegeta for passing the 2nd phase of the battle and hands the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball to Vegeta. While the group cheer for Vegeta, Tamagami 2 approaches Neva to apologize for being unable to protect the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball but Neva assures him that he fought well and these end results were necessary; Tamagami 2 silently thanks Neva for the encouraging words before he resumes his initial stance. Goku offers Vegeta a Revive Bug while explaining how they are similar to Senzu Beans but Vegeta claims he doesn't eat bugs…despite the fact that he was eating a bug in his debut scene around the start of DBZ; when Goku points out that Vegeta likely ate bugs before, Vegeta insists he is currently "much more refined" much to Goku's doubts. After the group board the airship to head towards the Demon Realm's 1st World, Glorio notices the engine isn't starting but Panzy is able to find the problem and fix it in a matter of seconds. The episode ends with Gomah furious that the Z-Fighters now have 2 of the Demon Realm's 3 Dragonballs after watching events unfold via the magic monitor.

With this episode, 2 of the Demon Realm's 3 Dragonballs has been obtained by the Z-Fighters. The other significant detail about this episode is the fact that it marks the canon debut of Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta with the only other times Vegeta had been shown with the form was in video games such as Raging Blast 2 (which used the same hairstyle that Goku & Gotenks have while in the form). Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 hairstyle here is similar to one of the "proto" designs for the form but I would've preferred if DBD stuck with the earlier video games' example and kept the hairstyle like Goku & Gotenks when they use the form as I find it less over the top in comparison. Regardless, I'm still hopeful that we'll still get to see "Canon Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta" as an adult. While I had heard about some claiming DBD had some "continuity snarls" that made some question if it can co-exist alongside DBS, I'm guessing that Vegeta not using Super Saiyan 3 against Beerus at the start of DBS is one example of this. Considering how Super Saiyan 3 is known for having a drawback in the form of significant stamina drain, I think it's easy enough to explain Vegeta not using Super Saiyan 3 during DBS "in-universe" as something to the effect of Vegeta feeling "the price wasn't worth the power". Arinsu managed to obtain the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball thanks to Kuu & Duu acting as a "Brains & Brawn" Duo without Tamagami 1 catching on that Duu received "outside help" for the "mental battle", so it looks like Tamagami 1 will be "The Unfought" from the Z-Fighters' perspective. With all of the Demon Realm's 3 Dragonballs no longer with their respective Tamagami and DBD having 8 episodes left, I'm curious to see how events will unfold in these remaining 8 episodes.

I remember one of these episodes was a weird one. And I think this is it.

Episode 13: "Surprise"
As Goku and his companions head to where Gomah is, engine trouble causes them to land on a certain planet. The place they land happens to be a surprise-filled planet where even Supreme Demon Kings fear to tread!

No spoilers.

Last time: The score is Good Guys 2, Kinda Sorta Bad Guys 1.

I hate you stupid concrete block!

One lever controls your entire inter-world transport system?

And another one gone, and another one gone, another plane bites the dust.

Honey, I Shrunk The Saiyan.

The SECOND scariest planet?

A honeycomb-powered plane.

Take only photographs, leave only footprints, Bulma.

We've got hamsters! And they're not dancing on the Internet!

Is this where they make the Food of the Gods?

When the hamsters start running, now's the time to worry.

They're on a giant Winnie-the-Pooh planet?

Incoming school supplies!

"It's eating kraken for a snack?!"
Hey, kraken are very high in omega-3s.

Vegeta! It was just playing!

I hope it doesn't have fleas or ticks.
Yep, it does.

CHEWWWWWWW TOYYYYYYYY...

Ruh-roh, Roku.

"This can't be how I die!"
Well, it was either this or the hamsters.

Uh-oh, that ruler's non-metric!

This is one weird Attack on Titan episode.

Megaths don't get involved in politics.

Well, this was an odd little detour.

Aww, we caught them in the middle of their Life Day celebration.

Hmm, I doubt Gomah can keep Warp-Sama turned off for long unless there's another way to get to First World no one knows about. Neva?

Oi, please don't be the start of some filler padding out the season with side adventures...

With all the reveals of the Namekians and Kaioshin being from Demon Realm, the talk of planet Mega and Giga got me wondering if King Yama is originally from one of them. Like he could be a Gigath.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
