DC/Warner need to get off their duffs...

What? Why?

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are too well known. Leave them out of the movies, tv, web episodes for 30 years so the other characters can catch up too speed with public knowledge.

A loose pattern? (Results may be rigged and badly researched.)

Adventures of Superman 1952
Batman 1966 (Adam West)
Wonder Woman 1976 (Lynda Carter)
-----------------------------------------
Superman 1978
Batman 1989
Wonder Woman ----
-----------------------------------------
Batman: The Animated Series 1992
Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman 1993
Wonder Woman -----
----------------------------------------
Smallville 2001
Birds of Prey 2002
Wonder Woman ----
----------------------------------------
Batman Begins 2005
Superman Returns 2006
Wonder Woman maybe not sure 2009?

Does anyone see Green Lantern 1967? Nightwing 1994? Deadshot 2006?

Just Supes, Bats and maybe 2Ws repeating. They start with the 3 then kinda work on the other Supers. This loose pattern should stop (opinion).

Bring in the unknowns! Break the cycle!

First off. I can't tell you how cool it would be if Warner actually did make a JLA movie. And it better have the big 3. :)

Who could play Green Arrow?

How about Josh Holloway for Green Arrow...

And for Hawkman Karl Urban

And Hawkgirl Jessica Biel

Monica Bellucci. Tall, can act, and the most beautiful woman to ever grace the silver screen.

hmmm...interesting idea :D (must...not...be shallow...male chauvanist...jackass...)

In all, fairness, though, she looks the part very well, I'm just not sure how much I'd buy into her in a hyperreal fantasy comic-book world, but she has the presence necessary to carry the role.

If or when they make a JLA movie, the characters should have near-equal screen time.

It's not the Big 3 and those Super-teammates.

If Batman has, exaggerating, 10 mins and Martian Manhunter 1 min, not only is it unjust, it is pointless for the character to wait all those years for a cameo.

Karl Urban has a warrior-look.... maybe your casting could work, DR.MID-NITE.

Using images as examples, one is a possible spoiler.
Helen Slater, Supergirl-1984

Set to be Kara by Laura Vandervoort- Smallville "soon". 2007?

I'm not the JLA caster, and not to be insulting to Vandervoort, but based on sight, I'd choose Helen's style.

I'm not interested in the latest cast of WW to be a "modern-attractive"* heroine.

So, GregX, if your cast for WW is leaning to "the most beautiful woman to ever grace the silver screen" then that is your choice. I wouldn't pick her or the WW role based on... not sure if I know what that feeling is.

*Avoiding sinking my boat by stopping the words there. (My board skills are bluh!)
Did that make sense?

I did say she can act... and she acts well. Trust me, as someone who does fantasy casting, that's always what I think of first.

Yeah, I can imagine TimeWarner saying "Let's junk some of our most popular assets on the off-chance on of the other ones become popular." Never happen, especially not with the Batman Begins series doing well and the Superman series still going.

They'll get to the other ones after Wonder Woman finally goes through; I have a feeling that's paralyzing DC property development at the studio, as they don't want to greenlight anything else until that's done.

Fine, fine, I disagreed with the "beautiful woman" part for casting her.

Figured the role could use more than beauty, like skill, strength, and muscles.

You might know her more than me ("trust me") since I recall her from The Matrix (2, 3?). She didn't cry Amazon to me, maybe I missed it.

In all honesty, someone less not well-known would probably be the best choice.

I fail to see your logic with Wonder Woman. She hasnt had anything since the 70's.

That is a point to the list. If it's not Batman or Superman, Wonder Woman's next for a movie or series instead of another character.

Though I'm speculating.

While I'd like to see more DC characters at the movies, I'd venture to say there's a reason why the "Big Three", particularly Batman and Superman, have had so much success and exposure as opposed to...say...Green Arrow and Hawkman.

Yes she's next in line but the point is after the 70's she didnt get anything at all, which is part of the reason i say that they really need to focus on Wonder Woman and other characters (Flash, Green Lantern)

Well, they don't really need to focus on those other guys as long as Supey and Bats-based properties are still making profits through the roof, but it would be nice if they did. Let's be realistic here: DC isn't going to pour money into something that just might pay off; they're going to stick with a proven moneymaker. That's just simple logic. Wonder Woman is supposedly next in line for a movie; if that does well (here's hoping!), we'll have to see how things go from there.

As for a Justice League movie, I heard that there is supposed to be one in the works, based on the comics, not the cartoon show, but there's no script yet. And from what I've heard, it will feature the Big Three, as well it should. Some people may think that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are overexposed or whatever, but they're DC's most popular heroes for a reason. If I paid seven bucks to see a JL movie and the Trinity were only in 5 minutes of it, I'd want my money and the 90 minutes I wasted watching it back. Ideally (IMO), a Justice League movie should focus on all of its' members more or less equally.

I just hope that J'onn J'onzz is featured in it, and they do him right, not like that Canadian pilot where he was played by David Ogden Stiers in embarrassing green makeup.

Any Justice League movie needs to have Supes, Bats and Wonder Woman. Anything else and this is what you get....

So to conclude today's lesson.

BLOCKBUSTER!

Class dismissed!:D

The failed pilot was bad because none of the characters resembled their comic counterpart in any way shape or form. Guy Gardner was nice.

I'm not sure I want the big three in this movie or not. I'd like to see Bats and sups meeting for the first time, but I'd like to see characters that haven't had their own movies to have the majority of character moments. We know who Bats is, who sups is, and when her movie is out lots of people will know who WW is. Like the JL animated series didn't have a big back-story as to who sups and bats are since they were in there own series not that long before.

I say give the others a chance.

The Trinity will be in the JL movie. Deal with it. There's no way that anyone is going to make a Justice League film without the Big 3. Economically, that would be a disaster. Big names are what sells, and no one's going to to go see a JL movie without it's anchors. That would be like making an X-Men movie without Wolverine, Cyclops or Storm, or an Avengers film without Capt. America, Iron man or Thor. What are they supposed to do, put Flash at the front and center? Make it Aquaman or Hawkman's team? I agree with DR. MID NITE; any Justice League movie made up of only 2nd bananas would just be a TV movie of the week and would head straight to Blockbuster Video inside of 2 months. They could keep it.

Anyway, just because Supes, Bats and Wondy would get a sufficient amount of screen time, that doesn't automatically mean that the others would get next to none. Why must it be either all Trinity or none at all? The TV show did a good job of balancing between 7 main characters, so why shouldn't we expect the same from the movie?

Here's a fun article I wrote on why Ruby and Jade from Sofia The First are good characters.
Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
