"Community" Season Two Talkback (Spoilers)

Pierce owns a company? Or, his family does? If this was ever established, I've forgotten it.

Why's he there, then? He should have better and more important things to do than harrass a community college study group. I'm confused about him now.

Yeah, in the pilot we learn that Pierce owns Hawthorne Wipes, and is at Greendale because he wants to better his education, add to the fact that he gets lonely in his mansion. Mostly the latter.

This episode was fun, but more than a bit overstuffed. Not only did they have three storylines, but each of them all featured a scene-stealing guest star. Furthermore, even the main plot was effectively split in two due to the wine-tasting setup. I don't remember this being a problem with earlier epsodes.

Next week's episode sounds terrific. It can't come here soon enough.

The crew takes a bumpy ride down memory lane when they find items Annie's Boobs has stolen.

The Tuesdays with Abed episode was brilliant.
What I love about Community is how you never know what you're getting when you tune into an episode.

During the addiction arc I was beginning to see why everyone hates Pierce, but I think he's been used less awfully lately.
I think they found a good girlfriend for him last week.

Hilarious clip episode this week.
Greased up Chang freaked me out.
Not as much as when Annie's Boobs came out of nowhere during that missing pen episode. I think that made me jump a bit.

Glad to see the group is getting back together after that BNL blow-up.
I almost forgot about their adventures in wild west town, camping, the haunted house escapades and The Cape.

Did I love the end animation? I'll never tell!

So apparently this week's 30 Rock was a one-hour centenniary, which while not being an actual clipshow, was overstuffed with flashbacks.

I'm not sure if Harmon and company knew what they were programmed with, but coincidence or not any viewer who watched "Paradigms" and 30 Rock would have a situation where the latter was competely ruined by the craftier approach of the former.

Really good episode overall, though I liked the idea and the structure more than any of the individual jokes themselves. I'm not quite sure how this one is going to age on repeat viewings.

Shirley goes into labor while taking her anthropology exam!

3-episode check-in

"Competitive Wine Tasting"
"Don't preach to me about romance, Annie. I had a three-way in a hot air balloon."

And so begins my "three-way" check-in on Community. ;)

I think I could agree that there was a lot going on in this episode, but it was all pretty fun with Pierce & Wu Mei, Troy & Britta and Abed & Professor Peter Sheffield (the excellent Stephen Tobolowsky). I'm a little too removed from this episode to offer deep thoughts, but it was a good time.

"Paradigms of Human Memory"
"Show's gonna last three weeks!"

I can't remember them all know, but I loved all the clips in this episode. As a viewer of the ill-fated Cape, I absolutely loved the stuff with Abed and Jeff. Jeff's speech montage towards the end was great too.

I was glad Jeff and Britta lost interest in their relationship, I haven't been interested in a while. Little disappointed that Annie's was all in her head though (it was entertaining at least).

"Applied Anthropology and Culinary Arts"
Strong episode that thankfully resulted in Andre being the father of Shirley's baby. Chang has often been too much since he stopped being the gang's Spanish teacher and with the reunited Bennett clan, the three boys can often stay off-screen with Andre rather than being a big part of the story. I don't remember what episode it was that had Abed having his own adventure in the background, but I loved that coming back into play here.

Dean Pelton was almost outed as a horrible dean (thankfully Professor Duncan wasn't outed as a horrible anthropology professor), but unfortunately(?) Dean Magazine was the worst idea for a magazine ever.

"A Fist Full of Paintballs" May 4, 2011

It's part one of the two-part Community season finale tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

The GCC gang must join forces to win a paintball war against the handsome Black Rider!

The first act is already legendary. And here's act two.

Edit: That was simply stunning. Next week can't come soon enough.

My mind has exploded due to the awesome.

Fantastic, of course. I'm a big Western fan, so I've been looking forward to this one - I love all of the little touches they add in their pastiche episodes. Community is one of those shows that's played straight enough to keep you invested but is still silly enough to have a giant ice cream cone trying to destroy a community college.

Can't wait for next week.

"Annie, you're awesome this week."

I concur. This actually puts her over the top for me. She's my new favorite character.

Kinda sucks that Community didn't get the full hour tonight. Now I have to wait a whole week to find out what the deal is with the big Ice Cream Boss.

Abed was dressed like The Man With No Name and Troy was (I think) wearing a facsimile of Bart's costume from Blazing Saddles... can anyone name any other films the other characters costumes werre refernecing?

I'm fairly certain Annie's costume was just for that slow-motion run down the hallway.

Those few seconds are permanently etched into my memory forever. I already wanted to marry her, the entire episode just seals the deal.

That scene just further made me a believer of Alison Brie. I mean, wow.

I heard that th next episode will be a
A STAR WARS HOMAGE!

That said, it's been fun watching my mom get into this show the last couple of episodes considering she thought the show was dumb when it first started. Now, she laughs more than me at the last one.
