CN Schedule Updates

FXX in the US had an every Simpsons marathon over a year ago. TTG is still put to shame by that. Lack of episodes + [as] means TTG marathon loses (to Simpsons at least) :p
FXX at least knew when to stop with spamming the show and actually have variety. CN currently still wont listen

Wasn't June Bugs 24/7? Just curious, but that means this wouldn't be unprecedented for CN.

Yep it was. The marathon (which was on Boomerang) aired for a 3-day period in June; and was one of my favorite things of the year to look forward to and watch when I was a kid.
So yeah, this isn't unprecedented for CN
(or any network for that matter).

I also recall CN doing June Bugs once more in either 2013 or 2014, but with The Looney Tunes Show added in to the mix.

Did they?? I don't recall that, but I wished I did.
That would've been appointment viewing for me.

Regarding similar stunts, as I mentioned in the other thread, it's not a new thing and goes back as far as 1994 when CN aired Flintstones for 2 months back to back with 4 days dedicated exclusively only to every Flintstones show and film they had. The same year June Bugs debuted and ran for an entire day. In 1995 they aired Scooby-Doo for an entire day, in 1996 they had a Jonny Quest marathon, around the 2000s it was Scooby/Courage for 1 week in the evenings, in the 2000s there was an Animaniacs marathon as well as an Ed Edd n Eddy marathon, Scooby got an entire day in the 2000s once more and even 2 full days in 2009.

Looking back the Titans marathon seems okay. But the main difference here is that back then CN was airing more shows and once the marathon was over that was it. There was still real variety and one show didn't overshadow everything else they were airing in terms of promotion and slots. The shows were equal. Plus no show had marathons like Titans several times in a row during a single year. These days it's only about Titans. Everywhere and all the time. Lesson being here that you can have such marathons, but the more often you have them the less special and effective they become and the more harm they do the remaining content you might have capitalized the same way were you not ignoring it. Ideally every show should get its turn. Also, personal note, CN has actual quality critically acclaimed programming - that's what should be getting this treatment for everyone to admire and see instead of MediocreGo!.

The Simpsons marathon on FXX back in 2014 was for a special occasion then they did it again last year like you said, but since the 2014 marathon had high ratings they put it on 5 nights a week for the entire evening (except Wed and Sat) which I don't think is that bad, but looking at the overall FXX schedule they don't spam the Simpsons all day long. There's still variety of movies on several other time slots, including Archer during late night hours.

Agreed, and once again like I said on the previous page, doing a marathon for a special event or occasion is completely different than having a show marathoned as your MAIN schedule. All of those events you mentioned including the June Bugs marathons that aired on CN back in the day are NOT comparable to the big stunt CN is pulling now, because those were SPECIAL EVENTS that occurred at certain times during the year. Not the daily schedule for months.

and for the few who still don't realize this, Teen Titans Go! is not a CN original series. It's acquired from Warner Bros just like many other shows in the past that have aired on CN. While it's not surprising to me, at the same time it's shocking to me that at least ONE CN original series from CN studios is not getting enough airtime, recognition or advertisements in place of an acquired show. I believe somebody answered this on another thread but I'm gonna have to look back.

I know this doesn't do much to change your point, since the marathons are still excessive with this one in particular being overly long, but I should probably let you know that, on most weeks, TTG really doesn't take up too much of the normal schedule (about 45-50% was the most recent average). Still more airings than ideal, sure, but it's not as bad as many people claim.

Then if it's a aquired series then why is airing constantly nonstop. Normally aquired shows (like a Canadian show) doesn't last long.

Well, for one, TTG is from Warner Bros, which is more directly associated with CN than Teletoon since it's also a Turner company.

A couple others on a different thread also suggested that it may have to do with all TTG does to promote DC's products, shows, and movies - much more cross-promotion than a show that both begins and ends with CN.

Close. WB and Turner are sister companies. Both are owned by Time Warner. Not that it changes your point. I just thought I’d point that out.

Regarding the shows, this is similar to the 300 slot situation, except that no films related to any show are being broadcast.

Problem with that logic is that CN also has another DC show, Justice League Action. And despite being DC, it only gets one airing a week.

I know, and what sucks there is that it's hard to shake off the feeling that it could have been a big hit if they pushed it hard enough. I've said this before, but acquisitions seem to rarely ever get a good chance on any of the Big 3.

It could be in combination with another factor, who really knows. I know some people will simply point to incompetence, but even incompetence has some business sense behind it.

I would like to add that it is very likely that CN doesn't own TTG outright, despite CN and WBA being corporate siblings. Could be since Turner is treated as a separate entity from the rest of Time Warner.

thats kind of a contradiction. being a business in any sense doesnt excuse any form of contempt or incompetence. using that kind of logic would mean to excuse what konami has done because "they're a business". business isnt above making shortsighted decisions. With the case of Justice League Action, it was never given a chance at all to shine which as a result led to low ratings. its contempt at its finest

true. I honestly dont care how much ratings TTG has, it doesnt justify CN disrespecting and mistreating their own original series, Heck Adventure Time for example actually pretty much helped saved their network, it had high ratings and viewership per episode that actually puts (TTG to shame so really those saying TTG is the highest rated show is quite the misconception). It was an actually quality show that alot of people loved and helped brought variety and inspired new programming for the block, but how does the network repay it? it now gets little to no advertising meaning its new episodes air unnoticed

Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
