CN Schedule Updates

I can confirm that. A while back when we got Saturday AM kids demo ratings for shows. Mystery Inc ratings were around 2.0 while What's New Scooby Doo got like 2.7 in kids 6-11.

That explains their over reliance on that show when it comes to Scooby, not that WNSD? is bad, but since it's on Boomerang and Mystery Inc. is not on air, CN IMO should air SDMI instead of the former. But I guess if it does that well, eh, perhaps Mystery Inc. will show up on Boomerang at some point seeing how The Looney Tunes Show now airs there.

Now we know that WN, S-D? is more popular than S-D!: MI.

As expected, the Monday after Spring Break, the SDMI episode is now WNSD. Looks like WNSD will indeed have the whole week, if this schedule holds.

I was just getting used to waking up at 8:15 so I wouldn't miss recording Pokemon. Now I'm gonna have to get up earlier.

*sigh* Oh well...

WNSD gets played a lot since it has no over-arching plot line to it. MI is a great Scooby Doo show... but it's also plot driven. Makes me wish Cartoon Network put up full series on their online streaming service. It'd be a great place to watch Mystery Inc from start to finish.

Wait a minute. What's New, Scooby-Doo? had better ratings than Mystery Incorporated? I don't believe it! I blame everyone who have been against MI since its debut! It's an outrage!

What is with the constant shifting?

Clarence has barely started, and they're burning that show out already. Typical lame scheduling.

I blame CN if anything, WNSD? is one of those shows that CN reruns endlessly (like Johnny Test, but both shows are aired less now). Hell, when SDMI was still in it's first run, CN still reran the hell out of WNSD.

That's probably good news for Clarence because that means ratings for the show were high to air them. They almost always do this with new shows anyway. Although I hate over-burning shows. Anyway better it be Clarence than Johnny Test.

But here's the problem. Clarence has been on less than a month, and CN is playing it into the ground. Never mind the ratings. if you've got something special like Clarence, you don't wear it out so quickly.

That, and CN has been in their 'but ongoing plots make viewers have to think and thinking's so hard!' phase for a couple of years now.

Shows with stand-alone episodes fare better in reruns than shows with episode spanning plots because the former can be re-aired in any order and the viewer won't be lost, plus only the most devoted fans are willing to re-watch an ongoing saga after it's completely unfolded. It's like playing an RPG; once it's done, only a few people are willing to start it up all over again.

Also, I agree with hobbyfan, giving Clarence a daily run when it's it's less than a month in is a bad idea. Even if its' initial ratings were strong, you risk over-exposing and burning folks out on a show by doing that.

Eh, that's a fairly specific example. I'd argue that it's more difficult to watch a series like Mystery Incorporated, as it is not readily available in its entirety. Season 2 isn't on Netflix, and season 2 is also scattered through 3 dvd releases. If it takes a lot of effort to watch a plot-heavy series (legally), then Mystery Inc won't (or didn't?) catch the attention CN/Warner initially desired from it.

I'd agree that ongoing series are harder to watch on TV, where time-slots typically allow only one episode at a time. I'd say Netflix is a great example of regular Joes and Janes watching entire series with ongoing plot-lines from start to finish. That's why I feel CN should just post entire series to watch on their online streaming service. Warner almost never makes an entire full-series dvd collection anyways.

As the week approaches, I'd say it's official to say WNSD and movies will be on weekdays now - nothing's changed, and the CN official website has that listed too.

Unfortunately, I can't see the week beyond, because it's all placeholder after it, including Adult Swim. However, there are a few other last-minute changes...

Weekdays:

4-5 Adventure Time (replaces Total Drama, Mon-Thu)
5pm - Regular Show (replaces Adventure Time, Mon, Tue, and Thu)

Total Drama is off the schedule once more. Guess it was just for Spring Break/Easter.

I'm willing to bet most of the schedule will stay the same next week, since most of the changes are already in the placeholder, but I'm still not sure if Beyraiderz will stay on Friday mornings.

I don't know if it's true but starting a week from tomorrow (Cinco de Mayo), S-D!MI will air at 8:30 am after Pokemon B&W: AiU.

Still, if it doesn't happen there's always the DVDs, iTunes, or any website that has videos where you can watch the show.

Again, that is a placeholder schedule. Notice how there are no titles on it. Cartoon Network hasn't gotten around to updating it. They updated parts of it (extra Clarence, T&J Show airings, Gumball on Friday mornings, etc.) but other parts of it aren't updated (Ben 10 and Chima still on weekends, T&J Show still on early Saturday mornings, no time changes for Beyraiderz, Tenkai, or Pokémon, etc.)

Also, there's one more thing I wanted to say, but I'll PM you instead.

And that's why Cartoon Network is constantly changing their morning schedules.

Well, CartoonNetwork.com updated for Monday, May 5, and

7am - Adventure Time (replaces Ben 10: Omniverse)

So starting next week, Ben 10 is completely off the Cartoon Network schedule. (It'll likely stay on Boomerang though.)

Just checked the schedule.

Doesn't look like CN will be showing S-D!MI at 8:30 am on May 5th. Oh, well. Like I said, there are 3 choices and I already named them.
