CN Schedule Updates

But most of you guys here are adults. People will find out and think it's pathetic.

Seriously guys, you all hate TTG. It would wise though to not do anything and let time pass.

2-3 years at most.

Eventually TTG's hours will have to be cut down in a natural way, and then in ten years' time people will dig up threads and poke fun at them.

I don't watch TTG. I don't have an opinion though.

Also, you guys, if you really don't like the schedules for shows, maybe you could get a DVR to record the shows you like to watch instead. Or try out other channels, like TruTV or TBS or something.

It's not really the fact that it's adults complaining about the show itself. It's the fact that CN has other current shows than just TTG, but it's difficult to ignore that one particular show when it the ONLY thing that everyone sees. I guarantee you that even KIDS are getting annoyed with TTG being on all the time too. I can try to ignore it for a year or two and see what good it'll do.

Well, yeah. Okay, that idea I had was pretty stupid. I thought that was the only possible way to do anything. I even like TTG. It's just the network plays it too much. You know, I'm just gonna go watch SpongeBob on nick for a while and come back in a month or so and see what happened.

Speaking of complaints, has there been any kid who stepped forth and complained that Teen Titans Go! aired too much?

I know this is weird to ask, but we've only been seeing negative reactions from the adults/teenagers that watch Cartoon Network. What about the children, the target demographic? What do they have to say?

Unfortunately, since they're, I would guess in the 1st and second grade age range, I'd venture to think that they won't be able form opinions about overkill. In other words, they're not annoyed with watching one particular show over and over again. It's like eating the same food for dinner every single night. Eventually, you'll get tired of it and want to eat something else. I won't stereotype all kids, but some kids won't be motivated to think that showing too much of one particular show is taking it a bit too far unless they see older brothers and sister and even adults, too, complaining.

If someone's poking fun at people for thinking eight hours of a show a day is excessive, then I'm not sure I want to live in that future unless the networks have finally embraced video on demand or stopped charging $3 for every 30-minute time slot worth of cartoon in digital distribution.

Not about the amount of hours, GC.

Eventually someone's going to come here in ten years and say that he thought Teen Titans Go wasn't half-bad. I think. Maybe.

Then maybe another someone will bring up the old days when almost everybody hated it.

I tried to explain this is best as could. I'm not saying that won't be people who don't like the show in 2025.

There will naturally be a lot less animosity towards the show when it's no longer half of the non-Adult Swim schedule (by the way, how did the schedule get so bad that they are actually, no hyperbole, airing it half of the time?). I mean, I don't watch it but I don't think it's awful. It's certainly not good but then neither was Johnny Test and I regard the two shows as broadly similar.

People always bring up how back when Cartoon Network was shifting from old cartoons they acquired in syndication to new cartoons they developed themselves that there were a lot of people who didn't appreciate the change (because they liked what Cartoon Network was already airing, or they wouldn't be watching it), and people point at them and laugh and call them luddites because the network acquired a new fandom that likes the new cartoons. That was quite a different thing than what is happening now though: back then the network was changing the kind of show it aired and people who liked the old kind but not the new kind resented it, but now everyone who's still watching agrees that new cartoons are great but there's a backlash that one of the new cartoons is being given such primacy that it would be impossible for any show to earn it.

I have no faith in online petitions unless the numbers are believable, so I'm out of ideas. Angry e-mails definitely don't work because the people working there will definitely ignore them.
1. If we spread the word far enough and make the terms sound reasonable (I'm not going to ask for Vishnu or Miller to get fired or anything ridiculous like that - they just need to realize the mistakes they've made and try to fix them), the petition could be at least somewhat viable.
2. What if the e-mails come off as constructive and maybe slightly upset?

Actually, my personal opinion of the show itself - which wasn't that extreme to begin with - doesn't really factor into this anymore. Even the most die-hard fans of TTG would probably agree it's extreme overkill and unfair to the CN originals.

I don't know, I have little to no reason to believe the hours will calm down on their own before this situation results in damage to the other shows. After all, we've already waited a full year only for the situation to get ten times worse.

These days, I always get my CN fill from Hulu or On Demand. However, when I do, at least with certain shows, I can't help but have this bitter feeling in my mouth knowing it's on a path to getting screwed over. And I find it nothing short of painful to see all the people's hard work and dedication be treated like dirt.

In most circumstances, yes, but I think they would probably care if they noticed a show they enjoy watching isn't on anymore. "Mommy, why aren't they letting me watch Adventure Time?"

Looney Tunes ended up not airing this morning, instead TTG was broadcast.

*reads first part of sentence* hm, strange
*reads second part* I saw that coming from like a lightyear away

Yeeeep, TTG from 8(or 8:30?) AM to who knows when. Just what we needed.

This is certainly a big change from a few years ago when it seemed like cartoon network had gotten their act together and was airing a lot of variety. I am not really sure what happened.

It seems like they just ruined their own network in a fairly short period of time, and I don't know why. Is anyone actually satisfied with this schedule? Is this actually benefiting the network and making them more money then before?

At any rate I am probably done with this channel, at least for the time being. I never liked TTG to begin with, and now it is airing nonstop. I am not even really annoyed anymore, just disappointed that a channel that for a while had a bunch of great shows and variety has been reduced to this. It's just sad.

I'm not counting on anything but with TeenNick airing The Splat I'd like to see CN go back to doing Cartoon Planet. That would at least help with the variety some.

Can everyone who's reading this message just e-mail the network right now and tell them to fix their schedule? Don't sound abrasive about it, but be sure to get your point across. I'm not sure if it actually will do anything, but what harm can trying really do?

Sorry but just stop, this schedule won't change period, just let it go protesting won't change anything, I suggest just watching Boomerang for a better schedule,or just wait until Christmas a better schedule is bound to come then.

The only way to change Cartoon Networks schedule is to be a kid aged 6 - 11, or be a parent/legal guardian of a kid aged 6 - 11 and complain to them. If you're not one of these people, they won't listen to you.

Oh my goodness, On Demand is the way to go if this schedule isn't getting better. Only for premiers that i would watch I almost don't bother watching reruns of shows because i know teen titans go! isn't far away from airing next.

I have a 10 year old and 6 year old brothers and both of them hate the schedule no one should assume that kids in the range will like the schedule anyways, other than I'm sure Total drama leaves after today as it did last year on the season finally, correct me if I'm wrong.

Today's airings of Wabbit have been replaced by Madagascar 2 and Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!.
