CBS cancels "The Late Show"

That sci-fi segment was so funny, it felt so sitcom-y at this point. I admit I laughed few times. But it was nice for this show to go out with a bang in a fun and emotional way.
He said all the things to Neil deGrasse Tyson were hilarious. The Thanks, Not-Handsome Jimmy bit cracked me up.

I hope Byron Allen time slot is a failure for CBS how they treated Colbert.

It's a time-buy slot, meaning Allen is buying for the time from CBS and keeping the advertising revenue. So, unless the ratings are historically bad, CBS will probably be fine with it.

That is unless Colbert moves to Sony for a syndicated late night show and many CBS affiliates pick it up. If it is a 2-hour long show, the entire Allen block would be preempted by CBS stations who picked up a hypothetical Colbert show from Sony.

Honestly, I just never found him funny at all. The only one I can stand to watch on Late Night is Jimmy Fallon. Even him only so much.

To each their own. I can't stand Fallon or Kimmel at all. Only Late Night I watch on the regular is Colbert and Meyers. Well, Meyers now.

Enjoy them while you can. Nobody knows if other factors and lead to the end of the other late shows, at least for now.

It wasn't just a joke, Colbert was a guest host on Only in Monroe for an episode.

I think it's just the same talk show with guest comedians and the other show he's involved with, that game show one with comedians and the contestant has to agree or disagree with their answer to a trivia question.
So, it's confirmed to be "Comics Unleashed", which is in a similar mold to Bill Maher's stuff, except no politics. It may be rebranded or not.

On Monday Daily Show episodes. And if that ends, maybe he'll continue his Weekly Show podcast in some form.

Dunno, never watched Maher.

Wow. I've watched Maher off and on since I was a teen. Politically Incorrect first and sometimes nowadays Real Time. I find him funnier than any of the reg Late Night guys. Mostly because he's realistic.

Yes, it's no politics, no racist or sexist jokes. Allen wants the jokes to be "timeless" which also help with reruns since they don't delineate between new episodes and reruns. The A.V. Club has an article about the show that explains it:

5/24: Oh, that guy. Sorry, did a quick search and I was mismatching a face to the name.

5/25: Here's the Only in Monroe episode.

CBS announced that they're pausing for now takedowns for unauthorized uploads of the Monroe episode due to bad PR:

TVI made a report on it yesterday night and it did mention the public access appearance.

Byron Allen is a failure Colbert time slot I don’t care how much Allen paid for that time slot who is not as talented as Colbert, Kimmel and Fallon in their time slot.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just have to say I can’t stand Kimmel, Colbert, Meyers or any of these guys. I don’t see what’s so funny about making Trump jokes over and over again. Not trying to bring politics into this, but it’s seriously annoying.

I’ve always personally liked Jay Leno and David Letterman the most. Late Night TV really went downhill when Letterman retired. Fallon is alright though. Greg Gutfeld is the best Late TV host even though he’s on Fox News.

^ Admittedly I've never watched Gutfield!, but I've read enough of his snarky comments on Mediaite news stories to know that I wouldn't enjoy his talk show. I find him utterly contemptible.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s
