I'm just curious....what did everybody think of Cats Don't Dance? For some odd reason, it has a big fat place in my heart. I LOVE the style of animation, and I love the music as well.

So what do you all think?

I thought it was a GREAT movie. Its up there with my personal favorites.

It's a pretty decent movie, but if you'd asked me that when I was younger,

you'd get a HUGE I ♥ IT

Well, I haven't seen it in a LONG time, but from what I remember it was a great movie.

BTW, the video release, the first one anyways had a bonus Dexter's Lab episode with DeeDee growing after eating one of Dexter's test cookies.

Cdd

I do like this movie a lot, though I've always felt the songs were a weak point in it.

Well,I wouldn't say it's the best animated film I've seen, but it has some funny moments, and nice animation....

Along with this and the Sailor Moon R, S, and Super S movies, this ranks high on my list of favorite animated movies. Who has the TV rights? I'm pretty sute it's Cartoon Network since the last time I saw it, it was on Cartoon Theater.

Actually, the last network to run it was Starz!, who showed it several times in August (always too early for me to be able to see it).

I loved that movie. It was clever and colorful and had a lot of catchy tunes. My favorite part is at the very end when they show movie posters with all the different characters on them. Cassablanca, Singing in the Rain, Gone with the Wind, Free Willy (Tilly), and best of all that one turtle feature in TMNT: The Movie. That cracked me up as you may have guessed. The "big finish" was great!

It is and always will be one of my favorites!!!!!

I thought it was cool in the fact that it was done in the style of the old-school musical movies. Singin' in the Rain and stuff like that. Very good.

Well, after all. it did win the Annie!

Cats Don't Dance has always been one of my favorite movies, for the style, but mostly for the music. I love that music, some of the best I've heard in a animated film.

When I first saw the ad for Cats Don't Dance I thought it would be another Rock-a-Doodle esque flop. so I avoided it like the plague. A few years later I saw it on tv (the Disney channel , I think) and fell in love with the oh-so fluid animation and the spectacular facial animation, especially for the bratty little girl and her butler ("how does the kitty go?!" :D)

to this day, I've never seen the entire movie

The Cat's Meow...

After seeing Cats Don't Dance, What more can I say? After all think about the idea here.. Cartoon cats dancing.. and interestingly enough, keeping alive the tradition of "The Old School" musicals done by Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, and Ginger Rogers, Plus Cyd Charise). Frankly the interesting twist at the end, is the fact that you see the other characters go on and star in movies that later became popular. (Grumpy Old Men, Twister, Forrest Gump, etc.) The Only Downside I could see was that one annoying female Human character (Darla Dimples). She's really just nothing more then Baby Herman wannabe with a bratty attitude..

But I give this 4 Cats.. It's close but that Darla Dimples.. Ugh.. at least she cleaned house at the end.. (Literally!)

:coyote:

"........Meoowww?"
"VEEERRRRYYY GOOOOOOD!"

Man, I'd forgotten all about Cats Don't Dance. o+____+O

I loved it a lot though, remembering the last time I saw it that is. Anyway, I haven't seen it for about... mmm, six years at LEAST. *downloads music*

I hope I can find it at Blockbuster or something. I'd love to watch it again. <3

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
