Cartoons you regret sleeping on during their run

I eventually did get into it when it was still in production, but I never gave Amphibia a chance until it was halfway through its 2nd season. It was for the silliest of reasons as well.

I didn't get into Bojack Horseman until its final Season (Season 6). Big mistake - I Mad up for it in 2021 by watching it all from beginning to end.
Such a High Tier show and one of very few that did humanoid animals actual justice.
At least I didn't make the same mistake with Tuca & Bertie - the only mistake with T&B was it not lasting as long as Bojack Horseman did, honestly enough.

EDIT - There is another - I didn't get into Bob's Burgers until around Seasons 3 & 4. Damn shame - everything this should was doing was better than anything Fox was airing and daring to call entertainment at the time. I'm glad to have also revisited the older episodes as well. Despite some occasional Misgivings here & there, I love Bob's Burgers and will be sad to see it end, once it does.

Other than that, when something catches my interest, From now on, it is top priority to watch it the moment it comes out/becomes available. Simple as that.

I would say the original DuckTales but being able to watch every episode was out of my control

so I don't know if that counts.

I think I commented on the original temp Toonzone thread that I regretted missing Lilo and Stitch when it originally came out in theaters. I caught it on Disney+ during the pandemic and was impressed. Technically not a show, but I think that honors the spirit of the thread.

Now I'd like to add Kung Fu Panda to that list. I only saw the third one on DVD while babysitting and thought it was great. Then went ahead and watched the first two movies before seeing four. Solid film franchise.

So watch this space and maybe in 2025-2026 I'll be posting about wishing I'd followed the How to Train Your Dragon franchise back in the 10s.

Teen Titans

The show was on before I became a fan of more DCAU shows beyond Batman: The Animated Series.

Definitely Regular Show. I only really started watching it when it was on it's last season. For some reason, I didn't get into it at first but I guess the show was more for teenagers so I was around 7 years ago when it first premiered.

During COVID also I should have binge watched a lot of the shows but didn't do it. Instead I was too focused on watching the same shows on cable (SpongeBob, TTG etc)

Other than seeing the show at times, it took until season 3's run where I became hooked on We Bare Bears as it would usually be one by go-to cartoons for a few years.
I wasn't aware on both The Amazing World of Gumball (although that one was I think I remember seeing a bit when I was little) and Teen Titans Go! when they premiered and I didn't know what they like until 2015 where I began watching them, especially since I would catch both shows airing multiple episodes on weekends and it was around the time where I became obsessed with Cartoon Network.

Honestly, it's easier for me to list the cartoons I didn't sleep on during their run up until I was about 9 years old. I had a rather sheltered childhood, and my parents were very choosy about how much TV they let me watch. On top of that, I spent my elementary school years in a separate autism-only classroom, so I didn't have any contact with my peers to know what shows were popular. That meant I missed out on a lot of shows that they watched.

It always seems like the only new Muppets media comes out behind my back. I was barely conscious when the 2011 movie came out, I was too young to see Most Wanted, I didn't get ABC when the 2015 sitcom was on the air, and I didn't even know about the non-Sesame Muppets until around 2019-ish. The only Muppets things I caught live were a few select episodes of that one mini-golf game show they hosted and the Schoolhouse Rock anniversary special. I'm really excited to see the new Muppet Show special on ABC (I don't have Disney+ anymore) in February though!

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
