Cartoon Network International News Thread 27.0

Same energy as CN Scandinavia airing commercials in Finnish, while Finnish was never an audio track
Did the Nordic feed do that in all countries, or just the Sweden subfeed?

Also, was the Sweden subfeed used in Finland, and the Denmark subfeed in Iceland?

CN Nordic never had subfeeds.
Except when they aired different alternate Total Drama season endings for individual countries.

No, everywhere received the same CN Scandi feed
Oh, so the commercials were generally dubbed into Danish, Swedish and Norwegian simultaneously (except for the occasional Finnish- or English-language commercial during commercial breaks; also, some commercials would play in one of three Scandinavian languages on all three Scandinavian audio tracks).

By the way, who was the advertising sales representative for Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the Nordic region, and why did Cartoon Network Nordic only air commercials directed to children (until they stopped airing commercials altogether)?

Didn't they at least have two?
Something like Norway/Denmark and Sweden? Sweden being the main feed, maybe

@zakawer2 because it made more sense, for the channel, to only air advertising directed to children?
I know in the UK it is not that way, and so on, but in many countries it is or it was that way, including Italy

No I'm pretty sure they had no subfeeds like what random me and zQwmy said and things like the ads were the same everywhere Basically the only thing that was different was the audio tracks

After all it is a kids channel not an adult one

and until CN CEE got the initial Romanian subfeed around 2007, we were used to only seeing Polish ads on the commercial breaks. (and I liked them somehow more than our local commercials)

The thing with CN from spring 2014 to this day is that if they tell you something, they can deny it. To give up at the last minute. BUT IF they don't even guarantee it? 99% doubt and that it's even more certain that it won't happen. 2014. Almost unbreakable track record of disillusionment and backstabbing for CEE. If they're wondering, it's almost decided. It's been like this since 2014. That's 12 years of consistency.

So if Flapjack is more guaranteed, cool. Really. I'm hyped to hear Punsie McKale for the first time since a whole decade. It seems that's more promised. If they're wondering about the others, then they're kinda ready to give up. 12 years of mockery of us creates this belief in me, I'm sorry.
Remembering how in March/April 2017, Boomerang CEE planned twice to (re)air seasons 2 and 3 of Tom and Jerry Kids with new dubs (since only season 1 was repeated since 2012), but they postponed them indefinetly. Also how in April of the same year, they wanted to bring back the Looney Tunes shorts in the primetime hours but they also changed that in the last-minute.

Also, back at the beginning of 2016, when CN Romania "confirmed" that Chowder will return to the CEE feed.... Yeah, a lot of promises indeed

I remember rather well there were discussions about CN Nordic in a Swedish sub-feed existing back in the day, maybe not on satellite (definitely not on satellite, by the looks of it), but probably on cable and elsewhere.

Probably satellite only had the Danish-Norwegian ad feed, though.

List of the arabic dub that were planned but never released or survived later :
1) Regular show made a promise late for premiere . It was supposed to premiere in 2012 when hosted on the website . And it toke them 4 years until the first airings in 2016

2) Steven universe season 3 promo was aired in September 2016 . However when October 10 2016 arrived . Steven universe has been pulled from its website and videos were disabled . Even for the show itself got permently banned , but since netflix exists in middle east . They completed the 4 , 5 seasons in arabic uncensored. To this day the season 3 was never published here anymore

3)Victor and valentino was added on CN arabia website with localized games . But However in april 2021 . The IPH studio confirmed that the arabic dub for victor and valentino was canceled and it was never aired on CN in arab world

4) Green lantern season 2 promo was aired on CN arabia after the rebrand in late 2014 They only aired 2 episode. But then it was scrapped and removed immediately .until the show made it aired on MBC3 in 2015

5) The grim adventures of billy and mandy was used to have an arabic dub , and aired only mbc3 but However when cn arabia launched in 2010 . They hosted the 4 volumes for CN POP by viva entertainment. They hosted the 8 episodes for the show , sadly the show itself was never aired for some reason, the only surviving media dub footages was only 6 episode from 3 dvd releases , the VOL.04 However was never posted , and it's unknown if it has 2 more episodes or maybe just for the Pic of mandy in the dvd poster

Don't forget the promise to air Samurai Jack season 5 in 2017
that was probably about the premiere of the season overall, which was indeed in the USA in 2017. But still, that made me somehow hope they won't make the new season that edgy

They might have promised just because they thought it was going to be as kid-friendly as the previous seasons and probably didn't check out the show to judge early in advance.

They ultimately realized that the fifth season simply had gotten too adult for Cartoon Network (and that dubbing it into many languages no longer made any sense), so instead the fifth season was ultimately given an HBO Max release in European markets years later. A late release for sure, but it's better than nothing.

On HBO Max in most European markets, the fifth season has dubs in German, French, Italian and Hungarian, as well as a Ukrainian voice-over exclusive to HBO Max.

Although the Romanian dubbing for the first four seasons of Samurai Jack is available on HBO Max (in addition to the preexisting German, French, Italian and Hungarian dubs, and the HBO Max–exclusive Ukrainian voice-over), unfortunately that's not the case with the Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish or Bulgarian dubs.

I fell like after the French team the British team has made CN Africa worse in terms of things like the branding it is now kind of a mess with them not updating some things and some of these events and pormos just aren't as Creative as when the French team was in control I have to admit (and the French team was definitely more consistent in the branding and presentation)

I wouldn't call them lazy (at least not completely) as they still care about some things like the schedule but they want to run things more cheply in a way, they are even reusing promos previously made by the French team from time to time and they can't be bothered to fix the timezone Problem too

And i also kind of miss the old Male announcer the new south African one i do like but the old one just seemed more energetic at times

season 5 has a castillian spanish dub as well, it aired on TNT españa in 2018

I may understand CN CEE/WE promoting a simple programming stunt two weeks in advance, like they also normally do for new episodes and show premieres, yet I clearly don't see any justification in them promoting the Top Plans block three weeks before.

Sorry, but this is getting too far-fetched even for the current European team. They don't have any legit reason to tease us that early for a simple Summer marathon that will last one month only and then be forgotten. It's not like a new show or premieres of new episodes that need to be gotten aware of as much as possible for people to watch them. Marathons are secondary, new episodes are primary. Why would they treat a second priority more than the case? I would like to know, but either way, I don't like that the Top Plans promo has been aired now and not starting from 6th July (considering the block starts on the 13th of the month). Even on 29th, this Monday, would have been more logical at this point than now...

They barely have stuff to promote so at least for the promo variety I again don't mind. Watch the US feed and you will notice they only have one promo while the others are fillers that have aired for years. CN is struggling very hard and I'm also starting to notice that on the international feeds. Especially the local feeds.

They actively shot themselves in the foot when they canned everything that wasn't Teen Titans Go! and refused to take a chance with original IP. I don't feel bad for them at all.

Those were cancelled right after WBD merger so it wasn't CN's fault. I doubt the CN team decides what to cancel nowadays. Europe has to relay on European acquisitions thanks to the out of touch executives in the US just to have something new.
