Cartoon Network International News Thread 26.0

I can’t imagine why the English audio track on PL/CEE was SFX only for such a long time, despite the team controlling those feeds going to the trouble to make a full English track for the RSEE feed.

But to anyone who was watching CN CEE in 2023, was that SFX-only thing still the case at that time, or was it something that had been changed prior to the merge in 2024?

I think the resolution to this issue is for Paramount Skydance to divest itself from the international side of Cartoon Network after the merger, and setup a two-way IP and trademark licencing agreement, a similar sort of thing happened with A+E Networks in Europe (now Hearst Networks EMEA), when Disney had to sell up and it became a partnership only between Hearst and Sky. Sky could actually end up owning 50%+ of CN in Europe, that would be a weird scenario! Ideally, I would prefer no merger at all.

At least Hearst Networks has something real nice in their hands, Cosmo (my beloved) in Spain and Blaze (in UK, but my hope is that the Italian one respawns). The less Paramount has in its plate, the better is. (Also, yeah, I wish the merger dies and what not).

Yeah, the first thing that came to mind was Hearst a couple years ago

Why CN and not Nick, tho? Nick doesn't even have any productions approved for the next 2-3 years. Thanks to Skydance.

Not to mention Paramount taking WB with the help of outside countries (Middle East) that got the habit to have the most censored version of CN....
Hope thier merger will fail..why is so hard to let WB independent and own them and the same moment.Really need to put your mark on anything you take...

If that happens then I only have Disney to watch (never had any interest in anything related to Nick)

Well, they obviously care more about Nickelodeon, which has been their brand
I'm getting off topic a bit (but not completely, I'll come back to it eventually), but I don't see Skydance doing a single positive thing for Nick, let alone OBVIOUSLY. Almost everything has been canceled, Nick has only one active cartoon that won't end anytime soon (Sponge Bob), even Henry Danger didn't survive. Even with the live action show, it can't be argued that this is their new goal. They have two. And will Hollywood Arts get a S02, let alone S03? Not to mention the fiasco with Avatar Studios.

Usually the situation after new owners is bad, but at least they have some kind of backup plan, but no, they literally left the brand with almost nothing. I've never seen anything like that, even with CN after Discovery. And the situation was bad there too.

I think they'll care about CN as much as they care about Nick. And to me it's not at all OBVIOUS that they care about Nick, I've never seen such a disaster and a disgrace for the poor brand. And I'm not even as passionate about Nick as I am about CN and I still feel sorry for it. And I don't think Skydance, who are the real managers, not Paramount, see the difference.

What can I say.... those Ellison corrupts are really willing to turn the company upside down and what not for their merger to go through, a plan which CLEARLY WILL NOT BE WORTH IT

Also, after what I have heard about the new Skydance management being that neglectful regarding Nickelodeon, I will not be surprised now if they will have CN be their new sole kids TV brand and (undoubtely) have a mix of CN and Nick originals that will make people sick. Even if they keep Cartoon Network under their roof, they will clearly change it and make it not as we were used to it. Please, just do something and STOP THIS MERGER OF THE DEVIL!!!!

Nick for me is extremely boring. Was pretty impressed at first that WBD was actually, its creator, not Viacom.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
