C&C - Trinity Blood - "The Night Lords V. A Start of Pilgrimage" [1/26]

Of course, they yet again whimp out of killing off a character...a genuine ethical dillema is sidestepped by having Abel save the day.

Seth being the Empress wasn't much of a surprise as Abel already told us about blond Empress being a fake. What was shocking was Seth's status as Abel's "sister" in super Cruisnik powers.

As a whole I liked this story arc. While it was hard to care at times because they never bothered to fully orient within the world of the show, they finally introduced secondary characters we could give a crap about. If they could make those other Vatican nobodies as likable as Seth or Eon, we're in buisness.

I'm interested in Abel's back story, although I'm afraid it'll boil down to Vash versus Knives redux. Even the ending was very Trigun-esque. I hope Blond Knives is cool.

The anime is very stripped down compared to the novels or manga. The novels have a larger Vatican team that have very good side/background stories that the anime will probably never show.

And now, the final chapter of the last multi-part story of Trinity Blood...until next week.

Abel cut it a little close this time.

Ion sounds like Mac from Foster's Home.

Seth is alive and well...and living in a Popemobile.

Some villains just won't stay down.

Don't screw with the empress.

For a second I thought Able wasn't going to make it.

Seth is the Empress. I forgot all about that. Maybe they are dragging things a bit. But then again, the anime's only 24 episodes.

Anyone know where to get a translated version of the novels?

Also this episode was pretty good.

wow... what the hell was that? i just turned it in time to see the little girl get all creepy and disintegrate that guy.

I don't know what's funnier: the Empress is physically a child or that the Empress is Canadian :p

Uh.... how did that guy manage to put a hole in himself? Was his back turned away from Seth when he did it? Or did he put it there after putting a hole in the wall? That was a confusing moment....

Also, I thought it was funny how they made the revelation that Seth is Abel's sister, and then 2 minutes later, they depart, probably never seeing each other again. Besides the fact that Abel was able to save both Ion and Esther in time, the other thing that really bugged me about this episode was this new plot that was suddenly brought up. And even though it was brought up for a few seconds, there was definitely a Vash/Knives vibe about it.

Asta shot him.

Hmm, I didn't notice that. I might check out the second airing later.

I didn't realise it either, but if you look closly at her weapon right after the guy falls (i think) , its raised slightly like she just got through using it. I originally thought he shot himself aswell.

Finally, a payoff for going through this chapter.

The payoff was rather decent, with the audience getting some background info on one of the characters that can interest the audience more (Abel). I appreciated it.

Hey what was the name and number of todays episode they gave?

Best episode ever, and if it's this good through the ending it'll be one of my favorite shows.

Don't even act like you were expecting Seth to be the Empress, cause you weren't. You may have thought "oh yeah, I should have seen that" after they revealed it, like I did, but don't act like you actually did see it coming.

And don't say it was a cop-out for Abel to save Ion and Esther, again that's false. They had each already made their decision, Esther was going to let him have her blood, and Ion was going to kill himself. If he'd showed up right at the beginning of the episode, before they were forced to make a decision, then it'd be a copout. Whatever the case, it's probably the best scene in the show so far.

And Seth the Crusnick for the ultimate win.

Some of us have seen enough anime to see the cliches coming.

Actually, they revealed it twice already. :P In "From the Empire," after Asta gives her report after defeating Enderle, we see Seth (though everything above her nose is cut off the top of the screen) in the Empress' throne remarking how Abel hasn't changed a bit. We also see Seth in the beginning of this arc when Abel enters the throne room from the back door (I think it was the end of either Part I or Part II).
