Wow. And I, repeatedly, heard that show [Colorful] sucked.

Yeah, well, if you like panty shot x 20, then Colorful is good.

I hope you're being sarcastic.
If I weren't, you'd have the right to kick my ass. Is there a prayer to god that this will be replaced by double Brak, Mission Hill, or anything in a week or two? Please Williams Street? :crying: (And that is NOT saracasm)

I usually give shows a 3-episode chance but I don't think I'll bother here.
Hopefully, neither will Adult Swim.

ADV doesn't have Devilman, Manga Entertainment does. ADV has The Devil Lady though.
Just as good.:D

Maybe if we're really lucky, it won't last until 3:30 A.M.

(Maybe Thursday is a more realistic option  )

WS can't find a good title from ADV even if it came up & kicked their shins.
And I stand by it.

I really wonder what AS is up to. I enjoyed the spaceghost 15 minutes the best so far of anything tonight.. and that's not saying much. SMC didn't meet my low expectations, but hopefully it'll improve.. maybe..

Cool, I laughed so hard during SMC that I urinated myself, and then my urine urinated itself.

Chris Beveridge reviewed this DVD on his site a while back and he's having similar reactions like you all are. He "just sat there, looking at the screen. Nothing was funny, nothing."

Then he popped in the 100% Whole disc (Americanized version) and he had a great time. Goes to show even a subbie can enjoy Americanized anime when the original version isn't funny at all.

If I had gone only by this disc, I would have given the show an F. We watched the first episode in full and sat there expressionless. Nothing was funny. Nothing.
And unlike the original script, I couldn't stop laughing throughout this version. From the live action material (which is fun since you know some of these people in person as well) where you get to see the actors all sort of playing against each other and having fun with personalities to the anime side itself where they basically make it much more pop-culture referenced with politics, religion and more, Milk-Chan in this form is just highly entertaining.

Oh wow. I was having the hardest damn time trying to tell if this show was actually Japanese and I looked it up. Yep. Boy was I surprised. I've never seen anything like that before. And I've seen some pretty strange things in my life, not to mention in my twisted dreams. I don't even know if I liked it or not. :p

You know, I honestly didn't think the show was so bad. I mean, there were parts where I was like "wtf, was that a joke?" But, there were some parts that were just funny due to the sheer randomness of it. Like, the counterfeit guy who wanted to spend all his moeny on Belgian waffles, and then the guy at the end who said "I can become a real woman now!" I don't know, it wasn't great, but I'll definitely watch it again. Of course, I liked FLCL when I saw the first episode and got completely bored of it by the second episode, so...it's quite possible that the weird random humor will grow old by the second episode here too...how many episodes is this show anyway?

Milk Chan and the flying thing-a-mo-bob she goes around in are cute.
If you got rid of the occasional obscenity, this show would be perfect for stoned five year old Japanophiles.

One thing I don't get is why this particular dub was made.

It's not on the DVDs, right? It was made only for Adult Swim? That's...kind of unusual.

All signs seem to indicate that the "100% Whole" version of this series is vastly superior to the version we just saw. I mean, it's great that Williams Street at least went out on a limb and tried this out, but I can't help but wonder what they were thinking when they green-lighted this version. It's awful, and that's the almost unilateral response this anime is receiving.

Once it's realized how poorly this version has been received, perhaps Williams Street will broadcast the "100% Whole" version. I would presume (and I would pray) they picked the alternate dub up, too. If not, then Super Milk Chan will likely go the way of the Squidbilly.

Counterfeiter: BELGIAN WAFFLES!!

That's it, that's the only thing I laughed at. I had a blank expression on my face for the rest of the episode.

Well, I have no reason to stay up for AS Sundays again. Super Milk Chan simply wasn't funny. I found the voices very hard to understand; so did the person I was watching it with. The opening and closing were the best parts of the show.

FLCL proved that a good comedy anime can bring in lots of viewers. SMC wasn't a good comedy anime. While this premiere episode might have gotten a good rating, this is the last time that will happen. From here on, it'll be in the ratings toilet. Grade: F. (^_*)

For those who are asking for the "100% Whole" dub, there's one thing you need to consider: to view that, according to Chis Beveridge's review, you have to see it if the show's a feature-length move, with three episodes being wrapped around with a story arc featuring footage of the English voice actors (and if you've attended an ADV or voice actor's panel, you'll know just how silly those people will get). Besides, doesn't the "100% Whole" version have a lot of profanity in it?

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
