I could really use some boredom relief. There might be other people who need some too. So... post yours here.

Listen to some old CD's you haven't listened to in a long time. It feels like you are listening to something totally new.

You know what I do when I get bored? Read tvtropes. Then you lose track of time and aren't bored anymore! :anime:

Read a book. It's good for you and builds vocabulary.

Balance the checkbook and create a flow diagram of your monthly expenses to help you prepare a budget.

That's definitely true. That also reminds me that I need to pick up some more books to read for fun over the summer. I would like to beat my record of fifteen books in three months.

Anyway, I also like playing an old video game when I get really bored. After not playing it for so long, it feels new. I also think walking around might be good so you can just let your thoughts flow, but that depends on how bored a person gets.

(Just kidding, I'm not a philosophy major.... :p)

Stop and reflect why your lives have led you to enjoy these activities.

(That is my major, but I haven't even taken psych 100 yet.)

I know someone who majored in Psychology in college. He is currently working for Budweiser. Take that how you will.

As a brewmiester? Because that's actually a cozy job. Now if he's working as the janitor...

As for what I do when I'm bored:
Decorate!Decorate!Decorate!

You could always put together and edit an AMV or go shoot a short movie. :p

I look at old copies of TV Guide from the '50s, '60s and '70s as well as old issues of Life-mostly '60s.

I guess I could draw some art on GIMP. I just can never figure out what to draw. I'm not good at forcing my creativity.

Oh, fun stuff, not serious stuff. Examples:

Get a baking dish and fill it with water. Then get some oil paint colors, dilute it in cook oil, and take a paint brush and start dabbing and swirling the paint in the water. It won't mix, but it would create marbling effects. Put a sheet of paper and float it flat on the mixture for awhile. Lift and look at the design. WHEN FINISHED, DO NOT DUMP MIXTURE DOWN DRAIN! It's toxic. Seal it in a container (like old mayo jar) and dump it in a hazardous waste dump site.

Get watercolors, and spread tons of it on paper. Get some salt, sprinkle it in patterns. When the watercolor dries, blow off the salt and see what you get.

Hah! I didn't think one little snarky comment would actually start something. Most of my friends hate reading and look at me like I've grown a second head when I take out a book when I'm bored, so I just say "What? I'm an English major," and it all makes sense >.>

Also, I agree on exercise. Good for you and makes you feel good.

Does that mean that episode of "Becker" with "Reggie Costas" (a lady owning a lousy diner & she can't cook & studies Psychology in college) showing how poorely pschology students who graduate find jobs fitting their studies is true?:ack:

Glad I didn't enter psychology:sweat:, it was one of my choices before getting enrolled in college

You want the truth? I picked my major because it doesn't require an internship. The criminal justice I was in before not only required an internship, but the overseer is too hard on the students and you have to give a 30 minute powerpoint presentation after. Couple that with my fear of social situations and poor people skills and you get the wrong degree for me.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life.
