Woah!! Neck in neck.. well, I'm cheering for "Heart of Ice"...even though I didn't vote for it.

I voted for my favorite, I don't care if it didn't win. I'm just glad it made it into the top ten...err eleven.

Come on, Mr. Freeze!!! You can do it!

Extending this particular poll is rather acenine (spelling?). Most people who wanted to vote have already voted. To extend it another week is not the best option.

I say this:

Wait until it can be done. Then, when it can be.....

HEART OF ICE vs. OVER THE EDGE....brand new poll.

Extending the initial poll was a violation of the control of the survey. Second Chance never got the Second Chance (nor idd any other episode in other polls), and frankly, the poll should've ended Sunday night, like all others, for the sake of consistency. IN my eyes, Heart of Ice has already won, Sunday night. HOWEVER...in that it was not ended like the others....and extensions were made on the fly....a tie occurred. Fine. In the long run, people had to vote for it. So, it is a tie.....Heart of ICe and Over the Edge.

The problem lies in all of us who voted for the best episode in poll 12.....round 2. THat's exactly what we should have done, granted. But in that the other 2 eps ended in a tie, I say a round 2 poll 2 should occur, with just those 2, so that everyone can have a say in which one of the TWO eps is better, in that they are now officially where the competition lies. I voted for Two Face in round 2, poll 1...and I'd do it again. But in that OTE and HOI are the only 2 eps of concern now due to extensions and a tie.....I'd like to have a voice in this now continuing poll.

That's why I feel another poll with just these 2 would be more accurate, despite a tie that I feel was somewhat jaded. I won't bicker too much....I'm not upset, just a thought. I still thoroughly enjoy this poll, and that's not enough to ruin that. Just so nobody gets the complete wrong idea.

I think that it is utterly wrong to discount Over The Edge just because it was produced in the TNBA era. That doesn't stop it from being one of the most gripping and powerful pieces of Batman animation ever produced. Personally, as a whole, I think it is one of the quinntisential Batman episodes and gives you a feel for the entire Gotham City universe even though it's a dream episode. Heart of Ice is a a great episode, but it really only showcases Mr. Freeze who, in my opinion, doesn't play as large of a role in the Batman mythos.

Sophie's choice

First I clicked "perchance to dream" and voted and then my browser froze on me. So I came back and decided to vote for "two-face" instead... and now I'm not sure which of my votes went through!

Oh well - both are great eps. Waiaminute... all are great eps.... Oy!

I agree.

I also agree. But I do not think that factor should prevent it from being in the same league as Over the Edge, imo, should it? If that's what you mean.......
I think despite his lack of a LARGE role, Mr. Freeze was redefined in this episode and finally given a level of depth. Exploration of the man that occurred in this ep really made it what it is....a gem.

Perchance to Dream only needs 49 more votes to go ahead.

I think I can... I think I can... I think I can... :p

Lets make it Hear of Ice

At this point, Monday---4:45 central time, it is one vote diference...Lets make it from the original series, just because there would not have been other eps, if it were not for greats from the first 65 eps made...for that reason alone, vote for Heart of Ice...Stuart

I'd probably vote Over the Edge (which is now in the lead) over Heart of Ice.....if I could vote.

Still.....I think a new poll would be more accurate.

*sigh*....Sunday....night....should've ended. Like ALL the others. Those were the unspoken rules that I understood.

Like I said, I'd vote for OTE over HOI....

But I can't help but think a bend of the unspoken rules and a break in consistency may rob Heart of Ice of its gold.

Ironically, a cold ending for a Freeze episode. To make a bad pun......

Well, I voted for Almost Got Im, but I hope that Heart of Ice beats Over The Edge. While OTE was a good show, i thought that it was a little weak and anticlimatic being a dream episode. Plus, as bad as this sounds, I feel that an epp from the original 85 animated series episodes should win. That may sound bad to some people, but thats just my opinion.

Let us do a run off between the tops

A run off between the top two, or three would be great, how about it? Stuart

There is another way to look at that, however. One might see the earlier episodes as a sort of "fine-tuning" that eventually led to a superior product later on.

The reason why a new poll is a good Idea, is because anyone who still hasn't voted is going to go for one of the front runners, instead of their best episode.

You said it, Failure! C'mon, people! Now you have six more days to make it happen! ;)

It jsut dawned on me that I have all the eps from this final poll already in my Columbia House series....woo-hoo...yay for me. I only have like 7 tapes left to get.

For those interested, I'll try to get the link. It's 4 eps per tape...a tape comes in each month. Batman:The Animated Sereis is a show they offer.

Once I get them all, a friend and I are going to rate them all and make a website. Good times.

I may need help, Jim Harvey..... ;) You seem to have a handle on it, to say the least.

Well hopefully my pleas for votes won't go on deaf ears. I remember that "Heart of Ice" was the first Batman episode that fully drew me into the Bat mythos. I couldn't believe the excellent story telling I was witnessing combining with one of the greatest colorings of any animated series I'd ever seen. The origin of Friez showed why he became what he did and how his love for his wife was so deeply ingrained into his being that when she was no longer with him he could no longer go on. Not only that but to add to the tragedy of his character we see that he can never again feel the heat of the outside world - much like his heart, everything within him has been turned cold and frozen. For once let's give Mr. Freeze a victory and show him that even those with an inability to enjoy a heat wave can still win in our societly.

I must agree. "Heart of Ice" won according to the rules established when the poll began. Extending the voting period invalidates the results of the final poll. A new poll would quickly degenerate into mean-spirited flaming. The best solution is to ignore all votes placed after Sunday night. I do prefer "Heart of Ice," but I wouldn't have cared which episod won if the rules had remained consistent.

Just for the record, I too think the best "Batman The Animated Series" episode should be one from the original BTAS run.

Joker: Record? Is someone supposed to be writing this down?

The biggest problem I see is most people won't be voting for their favorite/one they think is the best anymore. It is now "Which one do I like better Heart of Ice or Over the Edge?" That's not the way the poll should work and so far I don't think that has been as much of a problem as it is in other polls around these boards until now.
Sure the choice was tough, but everyone has had a week to think about it. I made my choice on day one.

After getting tonnes and tonnes of complaints - here is my final decision. If you don't like it, too bad. I will discount any votes made after the deadline today. The poll was left open for an extra 24 hours to draw in more voters. I stated early on that the final poll would be allowed to be opened for an extra 24 hours or week if it deems, and I think it does. But since a lot of you seem to be screaming murder, I will close this thread and start a new one, just for Heart of Ice VS Over The Edge? You don't like it? Too bad. Don't want to vote for these two episodes? Then don't. Since Bird Boy & I are the poll moderators, we have the final say over what goes in these polls, deadline-wise. But for some reason, a good gesture has been seen almost as an act of treason. Extending the deadline seemed like the best option to me. It allowed more people to vote and they still had the top 11 as options, not the final two.

So the second poll will pick up where the tie left off. If you like neither episodes, don't vote. I expect to see a debate between the episodes, and not a flame thread about how these vote "shouldn't have counted". Please learn to act civil, folks.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
