Best and Worst Canadian Cartoons

Best- Ed, Edd & Eddy- Ah yes Ed, Edd & Eddy. This is one of the first cartoon that I have ever watched and it is among my favorite cartoons. The animation is so unique and dare I say that it has some of the best animations that I have seen in cartoons. Jokes are clever. Characters were charming (except for Kanker Sisters). And it has some pretty damn good use of soundtrack.

Honorable mention: Total Drama - Another one of my favorites: The satirical parody of Survivor. While it didn't had the best use of Flash, it was still decently animated. Characters were relatable and/or funny/entertaining (but not everyone though *cough*Katie*cough*Sadie*cough). It certainly had some chart to it. It was exciting to see who will be eliminated and win the season. Now yeah it did fell apart in AS/PI, but it is still a great show overall.

Worst: Almost Naked Animals- Just...why???

Honorable mention: George of the Jungle (2007)- This is probably the first cartoon that I actively disliked. And I was only eight when I watched it for first time. I wasn't laughing, the episodes were lame and the characters were boring. And from what I heard the "2nd season" is even worse.

IMHO, the best is 6Teen. The reason why I LOVE it so much is because it's a show about young people trying to make ends meet, while trying to enjoy life at the same time (and without parental supervision, I might add).

Also, the opening is totally KICKASS...

Best: Ed Edd n Eddy. There is absolutely no contest here. Honorable mention to Jimmy Two Shoes,

Worst: IDK, maybe Almost Naked Animals. The character designs were so unappealing.

Best: The Raccoons, still to this day AFAIK one of the best animated shows to come from Canada. I'd also put up Ed, Edd N Eddy even if I only first saw it 2 years ago. Babar which I grew up with I would say was pretty great

Worst: ...........Can't think of any, if anything more average to mediocre or forgettable but none come to mind

Ed, Edd, n Eddy is the best. One of the best shows from that late 90s-early 00s period when Cartoon Network was coming into its own.

Monster by Mistake is the worst. It’s a terrible show and no one remembers it for good reason.

i like total drama island, 6teen ed edd n eddy and the racoons

i dont like monster by mistake

Best: Jacob Two-Two
Such an underrated gem. Season 1-2 especially are a lot of fun.

Honerable mentions: Martin Mystery (French-Canadian coproduction) and George of the Jungle (2007)
I don't understand the hate for it online. I liked it and so did my friends. It seems to be remembered well, at least in Flanders. But it aired on four channels here, it was hard to miss! The "second season" was indeed trash.

Worst: The Day My Butt Went Psycho
I doubt there is anything worse than this.

Best:

Almost Naked Animals (The ANA defender has logged on! [that’s me] I just find it really goofy and fun. Also, really good artsyle; I can’t be alone on this)
Johnny Test (Even though people think it declined, season 6 still remains my favorite and the most memorable.)
Being Ian
Ed Edd n Eddy
Rocket Monkeys (I still have an episode of this on my PS Vita, and it’s the only video on it I remember buying for the system.)
Supernoobs
Pahkitew Island. I don’t know what a total drama is. (Can this season just move out from the others. They bring it down.)

I can’t think of anything I’d put for worse but to reiterate, S3-S5 of Total Drama do not exist.

Best: Bakugan (Japanese-Canadian coproduction)
Such an instant classic. Especially this was the First Series that TMS Made for a Non-Japanese Audience
Other Good Canadian Cartoons (In My Opinion) are The Raccoons, The Adventures of Paddington Bear (1997), Ed, Edd N Eddy and Nature Cat

Honorable mentions: Martin Mystery (French-Canadian coproduction) and Johnny Test
I don't understand the hate for it online. I liked it and so did my friends. It seems that the First Season is remembered well. But the "2021 Revival" Is indeed an Improvement.

Worst: The Berenstain Bears (2003)
You guessed it; The Reason Why I Hate it is because the stories that the Episodes are based on too long "And It's not Because they use Sharron Miller's 3 Strike Formula", the animation is Cheap as hell, the voice acting is Medicore at best and Abysmal at worst and the biggest problem is that Nelvana "The Animation Studio behind this piece of crap" will never say No! on the multiple release of this Piece of crap on YouTube.

Best:
Total Drama: Good voice acting, heartwarming moments, the extreme (but memorable) challenges, good flash animation and a brilliant theme song. The host, Chris McLean, while sometimes cruel, is entertaining in the early seasons. I think Island and World Tour are the best seasons out of them. This is one of Cartoon Network’s saving Grace during the late 2000s.
6teen: Although this show got hit with censorship in the United States (to the point where a number of episodes aren’t aired there), this show is pretty nostalgic. A classic gem of both Fresh TV and Nelvana.
Ed, Edd n Eddy: Creative writing, good soundtrack and charming moments.
Arthur: A long runner that managed to stay fresh throughout. Though the animation start to receive a downgrade later on, the morals they teach are meaningful and there’s a lot of depth in it.
The Racoons: A pretty nostalgic show for its time. Even my mum remembered it.
Detentionaire: This show is a cult classic, and is a pretty good Teletoon show. Sadly however, it ended on a cliffhanger.
Honourable mentions:
Jimmy Two-Shoes: Decent animation, likeable characters and some of the humour is pretty funny.
Being Ian: Creative and also decent in a way.
Total Drama Presents: The Ridounculous Race: Surprisingly good and it is a decent spin-off of the series. Unfortunately, it got screwed and quietly cancelled afterwards.
Atomic Betty: This one is surprisingly decent, as it’s a French-Canadian show. The animation’s anlright and the theme song is pretty good.
Grojband: Some of the jokes are funny and the songs are decent.
Dishonourable mentions:
Sidekick: This show is just meh. Though I did like the animation and voice acting.
Numb Chucks: Annoying and awful. All what the chucks do is make everyone miserable (like other shows such as Fanboy and Chum Chum). In almost every episode where Buford is in, he gets treated as a butt-monkey anyway!
My Life Me: Awful writing, a bad English title, a rip-off anime style and cheap, stilted-looking animation.
Worst:
Almost Naked Animals: Ugh. Bad animation, grotesque-looking character designs, annoying theme song and sometimes, loud voice acting. This is one piece of garbage that 9 Story should buried this. At least we had Emilie Barlow, Séan Cullen and Christian Potenza in the cast.
Rocket Monkeys: Cheap-looking animation, annoying characters, bad voice acting and the theme song is just about how our main characters are horrible. Many of the episodes even rips off SpongeBob episodes like ‘Jellyfishing’ and ‘Pizza Delivery’.
Johnny Test (seasons 4-6): Bad humour, cheap flash animation, horrendous story plots and overusing the whipcrack sound effect. Sometimes, the voice actors even shout the majority of their lines. Thankfully, the Netflix reboot is an improvement.
Total DramaRama: Downright bad episodes, annoying characters and voice acting, cringe-worthy, non-sensical and irritating. The art style and animation looks pleasant enough though. At least the 2023 reboot is an improvement over this!
Mega Babies: Gross-out and annoying. That’s all I need to say.
Cailiou: A lot of people don’t like this show at all. Children, adults and even parents. This title character just cause tantrums and does terrible behaviour.
The Day My Butt Went Psycho!: This entire show is just gross-out stuff. Talking butts, bad humour and a puke-looking colour palette. And yes, it’s a Australian-Canadian co-production.

Here's a fun article I wrote on why Ruby and Jade from Sofia The First are good characters.
Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
