Best:
Total Drama: Good voice acting, heartwarming moments, the extreme (but memorable) challenges, good flash animation and a brilliant theme song. The host, Chris McLean, while sometimes cruel, is entertaining in the early seasons. I think Island and World Tour are the best seasons out of them. This is one of Cartoon Network’s saving Grace during the late 2000s.
6teen: Although this show got hit with censorship in the United States (to the point where a number of episodes aren’t aired there), this show is pretty nostalgic. A classic gem of both Fresh TV and Nelvana.
Ed, Edd n Eddy: Creative writing, good soundtrack and charming moments.
Arthur: A long runner that managed to stay fresh throughout. Though the animation start to receive a downgrade later on, the morals they teach are meaningful and there’s a lot of depth in it.
The Racoons: A pretty nostalgic show for its time. Even my mum remembered it.
Detentionaire: This show is a cult classic, and is a pretty good Teletoon show. Sadly however, it ended on a cliffhanger.
Honourable mentions:
Jimmy Two-Shoes: Decent animation, likeable characters and some of the humour is pretty funny.
Being Ian: Creative and also decent in a way.
Total Drama Presents: The Ridounculous Race: Surprisingly good and it is a decent spin-off of the series. Unfortunately, it got screwed and quietly cancelled afterwards.
Atomic Betty: This one is surprisingly decent, as it’s a French-Canadian show. The animation’s anlright and the theme song is pretty good.
Grojband: Some of the jokes are funny and the songs are decent.
Dishonourable mentions:
Sidekick: This show is just meh. Though I did like the animation and voice acting.
Numb Chucks: Annoying and awful. All what the chucks do is make everyone miserable (like other shows such as Fanboy and Chum Chum). In almost every episode where Buford is in, he gets treated as a butt-monkey anyway!
My Life Me: Awful writing, a bad English title, a rip-off anime style and cheap, stilted-looking animation.
Worst:
Almost Naked Animals: Ugh. Bad animation, grotesque-looking character designs, annoying theme song and sometimes, loud voice acting. This is one piece of garbage that 9 Story should buried this. At least we had Emilie Barlow, Séan Cullen and Christian Potenza in the cast.
Rocket Monkeys: Cheap-looking animation, annoying characters, bad voice acting and the theme song is just about how our main characters are horrible. Many of the episodes even rips off SpongeBob episodes like ‘Jellyfishing’ and ‘Pizza Delivery’.
Johnny Test (seasons 4-6): Bad humour, cheap flash animation, horrendous story plots and overusing the whipcrack sound effect. Sometimes, the voice actors even shout the majority of their lines. Thankfully, the Netflix reboot is an improvement.
Total DramaRama: Downright bad episodes, annoying characters and voice acting, cringe-worthy, non-sensical and irritating. The art style and animation looks pleasant enough though. At least the 2023 reboot is an improvement over this!
Mega Babies: Gross-out and annoying. That’s all I need to say.
Cailiou: A lot of people don’t like this show at all. Children, adults and even parents. This title character just cause tantrums and does terrible behaviour.
The Day My Butt Went Psycho!: This entire show is just gross-out stuff. Talking butts, bad humour and a puke-looking colour palette. And yes, it’s a Australian-Canadian co-production.
