Anime-inspired Scooby series: "Yokoso Scooby-Doo!"

With the live-action Netflix project coming soon, maybe they want to divert all creative focus on that and aiming squarely towards that specific age group/demographic rather than have something for the kids?

It wouldn't be the first time a WB project announced at Annecy failed to launch.

Where's my HB Europe stop-motion Wacky Races show, WB?

Yeah, I'm starting to think the show might still be in development and that the earlier reports were just the one facebook post, it's 'source' isn't backed anywhere

I believe WB killed the project a while back. I would’ve been very interested in seeing that though.

I don't think so, ToonDude03. If I am wrong, will you please tell me why?
In terms of the stop motion Wacky Races reboot, which I was referring to, the test animation was uploaded to YouTube by the animator with the description saying that it was “a PAST development project for Sam Register and Warner Bros. Animation” (even though the show was announced to be done by HB Studios Europe). That most likely means WB passed on the project. Now I don’t know what the case is with this Scooby show, but we’ll wait and see.

"A Scooby Doo Chibi Anime May Be On The Way"

"The eternal and unkillable Scooby Doo has been with us since the late 1960s and never missed a trend — except apparently for one. When we first heard today of a possible Scooby anime being developed, our first thought was “this really never happened before?”

It hasn’t. Batman has dabbled in the anime business with the Batman Ninja series. Rick and Morty entered the medium with a series released on Adult Swim that was decidedly different from the main show and wasn’t to everyone’s taste. But somehow WB has never thought of paying for a Scooby cartoon produced under the shadow of Mt. Fuji. Until now, we guess.

This announcement was hard to catch because it was made in Brazil, as part of a presentation related to a Scooby-branded makeup line being sold over there. It was at that event Scooby-Doo! Gokko, a series of anime shorts rendered in the chibi style, was revealed as being in production for a 2027 release."

I was really hoping for Go-Go Mystery Machine to happen. You?

That's where the confusion lies - is this the same thing as "Go-Go Mystery Machine" or is it something else?

Go-Go Mystery Machine is still happening:

UPDATE: We heard back from Warner Bros., and Scooby-Doo! Gokko won’t be a series, but rather a collection of shorts similar to the Tom & Jerry Gokko promotions linked in this article. The company also confirmed that the shorts are unrelated to Go-Go Mystery Machine, which is still in development, with news coming soon.

01/09:
Around 26:20 in this video, Matthew Lillard says he recorded a pilot for a Scooby series "2 months ago". Note that was posted in December, so technically it's 3 months ago now. Presumably it's for Go-Go Mystery Machine and not the Gokko series of shorts.

04/16:
At 22:08 in this video Sam Register mentions he's currently developing and producing a Scooby anime.

So from what I read about the plot, this is essential The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo the anime.

Scooby Doo must be doing very very very well on Tubi for them to be the one to stream it. That's nice though.

The series being on Tubi will make it more easily accessible to people, which is great, and the various Scooby Doo series are probably doing really well for Tubi to claim this as a new original series for their platform, but it still makes me think that WB has no idea what to do with HBO Max.

This was surprising, but welcome.

I'm hoping the show being on Tubi will mean that WB will release more of their original shows on the service. Maybe even revive some of their shows. (I don't want more Regular Show I want more Close Enough).

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
