Animaniacs (2020) News & Discussion Thread

The new ones look worse if you ask me. Probably not his fault though but more of modern animation method's fault on which artists have to adapt to.

talking about other theme, check it out thelatina latin american version of this song

in the song what bothers me is that they translate bad some parts
for example they change mickey rooney for infinitos granitos(which that means infinite granites)

i think wb wants to do an animaniacs reboot(hope they include freakzoid in the reboot) is for money reasons
think about it:
wabbit, tom and jerry show , be cool scooby doo, wacky races cant do well sellings in terms of merchandising, the only shows that do merchandising are dc animated shows
and the succes of animaniacs in netflix and animaniacs livs motivates wb and amblin to do animaniacs reboot

i have to admit wb /amblin shows bring success to warner bros animation in the first place

network:in terms of networks like i said animaniacs humor is in a grey s area i would say its definetly pg humor
so theres two places in which the show could go:netflix or cartoon network

Im from Argentina so I first watched Animaniacs dubbed long ago, then I rewatched it in english ofc (I try to watch everything in its original language).
Things like that happen a lot in dubs. Some voices in dubs can be good and all but forget about all te puns and rhymes because they become impossible. I rewatched a couple of Slappy episodes in latin spanish recently for curiosity and almost nothing makes sense, it's really an enormous failure (and also I think the Slappy voice in the dub kills her character too because of the way she talks basically, more like a tired grannie rather than the cynincal old aunt she is).
But yes, these things are normal. There always are awkward moments when watching a dub where you just believe you missed a joke or something because you dont get it, and thats usually a pun, rhyme or reference in the original language that couldnt be translated in the dub.

To be honest, I don't like any latin spanish dubbed cartoon. I think they are very generic, and well, since I know english it also feels unnecessary, especially when accents are important in the original language that can't be translated right in any other language for obvious reasons.

The only latin spanish cartoon dub I ever liked is The Simpsons (from season 3 to season 11 approx). I think it's great and, sometimes (don't hate me pls), even better than the original, but that's a weird case.

I honestly don't remember. I'd say Cartoon Network but I almost don't remember. Apparently it was in Fox Kids in USA at first, but I don't remember seeing it in Fox Kids here.

I looked in Wikipedia and it shows this
LYLHnSQ.png

Which sounds extremelly weird to me because I never used to watch Canal 9 nor Telefe, yet I remember seeing Animaniacs opening poping from another channel I used to watch, like, it was normal to finish an episode and then suddenly Animaniacs showed up, this is why I remember seeing it in Cartoon Network, but no idea honestly.

Also, in Telefe up to 2012? that's even weirder. I never knew.

this antihero disney character
https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/ws/56...516_mickey_oswald_304x171_disney_nocredit.jpg

this character backstory sounds like warner siblings origin story

even his return in disney reminds me animaniacs"they traded al michaels for oswald the lucky rabbit"

did the warner siblings apply old animation gags like oswald the lucky rabbit?
heres character story to see what i talking about

i know its out of this topic, i said that because its a similarity that i note that i want to comment.
pd:did tom ruegger create a character similar to pepe argento(casados con hijos)? i dont see all the episodes thats why ask it

now talking about the posiblity of animaniacs reboot
theres two networks:cartoon network or netflix
animaniacs was the most marketable cartoon in the 90s(they released videogames, merchandise, etc) so i think cartoon network would want to buy it(currently the original show showed it in boomerang at 3:am and in tooncast)
netflix:the streaming that bring success animaniacs nowadays in the first place
theres a 3rd network
warner channel:but that has a low posiility to show it in that channel

hope that they put these characters in animaniacs reboot(if gets a greenligt)

No, no, what you're looking at is frames from the Tom and Jerry Tales shorts, which are about 10 years old by now. They look the way they do b/c production shifted to Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone, who up to this point, have never worked on a Tom and Jerry production. That's why there's this unsettling combination of Wile E Coyote-esque expressions mixed with the normally cute and simplistic Hanna Barbera style and the result is rather unappealing. A Nutcracker Tale suffered from this problem too.

Fortunately they got better with each coming release, showing that they're starting to understand the design scheme:

So I don't think we have too much to worry about with the upcoming Animanaics reboot. All classic character designs are handled by Jessica Borutski anyway. Look at Wabbit, The Looney Tunes Show and Bunnicula.

Here's some more stuff by Brandt and Cervone:

I think we'll be fine if Spike Brandt's on board; he's the only one who actually seems to care about hand-drawn animation anymore down at WB...

None of the characters from Animaniacs seem close to him to me I think. Why you ask tho

Try to edit your posts adding what you forgot to mention or want to add instead of making new posts all straight please. Its kinda flooding the thread.

thanks i forgot that
sorry some of my comments are like this video

animaniacs reboot is the only hope for wb animation to not become "a company of superheroes"
the titles of producer executive producer in the reboot would be like this:
steven spielberg(executive producer)
sam register(executive in charge of production)
tom ruegger(senior producer)(if wb call him)
spike brandt(senior pproducer)
tony cervone(producer)

one question
animaniacs educattional content was done for the law of telecomunications in 1996
if greenlight the reboot that means that will be zannier than before(more violent and risque)and the educational songs will be unnecesary(this time will do parody songs like "weird al yankovic")
