  • How would everybody feel about an animated version of Barney and Friends? Has there ever been an ANIMATED Barney before?

Hey, another crazy idea: what if Pharrell Williams was the new voice for Barney? If the character had to be redefined for a new generation?

    That idea is really interesting.

No, but how good of a job would he do if he were to be the next Barney after Dean Wendt? I just thought since the character is always singing and Williams' Fun song in DM1...
This might sound crazy, but, I want Pendleton Ward(Adventure Time) to be the new voice of Barney! Sound like a bad idea?
You know, something always bothered me about Barney: at the end of every episode, why do BJ and Baby Bop vanish when they leave?
Seriously, if someone planned a reboot of Barney, acknowledging the faults, how would they do it? Is there a way to make the concept good?

Also, how is a magical, enchanted stuffed animal with the ability to come alive and make stuff with kids' imaginations an uninteresting premise?

I said Barney was an uninteresting character, not that that was an uninteresting premise.

Well, what makes characters like Mary Poppins or Mr. Rogers interesting?
how would any Sonic fan feel if were classic Sonic voiced by Caleel Harris or Benjamin Flores Jr. imitating Jaleel White's pitch/tone/twang
Do any of you think that Disney should buy Sega Sammy Holdings? Might as well, Sonic Forces was a critical/financial failiure...
DO you think that we'll actually get a good Looney Tunes project that doesn't massively divide fans?

Hopefully, this will happen in the future. All they need is a Looney Tunes project that actually follows the original shorts vision (with the exceptions of the offensive material) and they should be fine. They should have a project that's similar to Tiny Toon which was somewhat faithful to the tone of the original shorts.

I don't think so. Even something like Wabbit/New Looney Tunes, which is closer in format to the original shorts, is still accused of doing it too much to the point of not bringing anything new or memorable to the table.

I think what hurt Wabbit is that it AGAIN redesigned the characters, the background music didn't have an orchestral score, none of the villains stood out save for a select few, I hate Bigfoot, and Bugs Bunny can only do so much on his own...
In an open world 3D Sonic game, would the return of the Lost World control scheme(run button, parkour, etc.) be a good idea to use?
Is taking John Kricfalusi's advise a good idea?

Drawing advice, possibly, but everything else is a big "no" especially when it comes to his hatred for scripted cartoons.

John K's advice is spot-on when he's talking about cartoony animation. However, he doesn't seem to understand (probably because he doesn't want to) any other kind of animation. So I'd say stick to what he knows best.

@Frank98 summed it up better than I possibly could. It's clear he was really good at what he was passionate about.

The problem is he ended up pushing it too far when he was given more creative control, and this was also around the time word spread of his bad work ethics.
Can anyone here recommend me some CGI shorts made that are rendered to look 2D?(Aside from Paperman/Feast)
Does anyone want to elaborate on John Kricfalusi's hatred of Mulan?

He doesn't like anything he doesn't consider "cartoony," a.k.a. wacky and bouncy.

From what I've seen, he doesn't like alot of things.

Among the only Disney films he's said positive things about include Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (though he thinks Grim Natwick's talents were wasted on the title character), Pinocchio, Fantasia, Song Of The South (the animated sequences), The Three Caballeros, Lady and the Tramp, and Tarzan (the animation on Jane in particular).
I know everybody hates reboots, but I'm curious, if more episodes of Animaniacs were produced today, how could it be updated?

Yakko and Wakko would be scrolling through a phone until they simultaneously say "Hellloooooo nurse!" Yeah, bad thinking there but ... it makes sense. After all, even the original had its 'moments' i.e. - the times Yakko does his "*muah*! G'night everybody!"

    That's one example - I've no others.

I was just thinking, create some more shorts using those old characters, mostly calling attention to the Warner's anachronistic ways in the modern world like the old show. Give Minerva a bigger role, etc.

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
