Hey I was wondering who here on toonzone hasn't received their 2010 census forms yet? I'm asking because we still haven't gotten ours. Anyone else having this issue?

You really should have gotten it by April 12. You should call the number in this link and request one.

http://2010.census.gov/2010census/how/questions.php

BTW, just as general advice for everyone, if you don't want annoying Census takers showing up at your house? Fill out the form. They send the Census workers out to people who don't send the form in.

If you don't want to fill out the form or deal with a Census taker, uh, well, you could always go join a militia or something and hide out in the woods until it's over.

I received one for my home, and it seems like I'm the only person in the household who is obsessed with U.S. Census forms. I'm also encouraging people who haven't filled out the U.S. Census 2010 forms to do so right away before Friday, April 16. It's very simple, and is beneficial to discover how funding is spent for places like hospitals and schools. Filling out the Census forms is an opportunity for people to share gratitude about their families, no matter what backgrounds they have.

I filled mines out a day after I got it.

I had to call my sister to get some help because Latino isn't considered a race so I got stuck wondering what exactly I had to classify myself as.

But, what if they decide to lock your race up in concentration camps?

I for one, am not filling out the census form, but that's mainly because I'm hoping they send a cute census worker to my apartment.

That's not the reason to do it. The reason to do it is political districting. Politicians are always eager to gerrymander the most ridiculously advantageous districts for themselves. They use Census figures in that planning, so if you don't get yourself counted they can safely ignore you in this process.

I mailed off my Census form yesterday. I hate having to talk to strangers at my door.

I mailed mine off weeks ago.

I wonder if they'll ever put a "mixed race" or "miscellaneous" tickybox. >.>

Well, until then, you can fall into the neat little subsection I like to call "The Void", which sounds better than "mixed race" either way. :D

Er, yeah, have not gotten my form yet, so I just requested one in hopes that I won't have to deal with an annoying door knockers.

I honestly don't get the suspicion and resentment some people have for the Census. It doesn't ask you for information you haven't already given to banks, credit card companies, the cable company, your doctors, Facebook, etc. The government needs to know how many people are living in the country.

I'm sort of skeptical about the racial questioning. Don't quite know why they feel it necessary to ask about that. But there's got to be a good reason or it wouldn't be on the form.

And yes, refusing to fill out a Census form and refusing to respond to Census taker questions is a violation of federal law. It's in the Constitution that this business needs to occur. Also, the more Census workers that need to follow up on unreturned Census forms, the more taxpayer money (our money) the government has to use to fund the Census program. So you're only hurting yourself in the long run.

The only thing I could possibly see this happening for is if we are invaded by aliens, which they can't tell from a census form. ;)

I'm thinking it's for statistical purposes. Immigration quotas used the census way back when, but I don't know if that's the case now.

The form is so easy to fill out it's not even funny. Just fill it out, seriously.

People are generally mistrustful of the government, but since it's such basic information that's not really valid in this case. If you don't stand up and be counted you're disenfranchising yourself in some important ways, including politically and in any instance where the government considers population statistics to make a decision.

The Census forms will help determine how much money the government needs to distribute scholarships to students.

I'll be honest. Every single year the census people show up at my door for their survey I end up shutting the door in their face, it isn't because I want to be rude but a few years ago I tried to explain to a census person that I was really busy (I had to get to work) and the person didn't want to take no for an answer and basicly followed me to my car, so now I refuse to give them any information.

Got mine a few weeks ago. I should probably fill it out at some point, but haven't gotten around to it yet...

You have to be thinking of something else. They only do the Census once every 10 years.

That's not the Census. It's conducted every 10 years.

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
