    Last week in Portugal, we escaped the heatwave for a few days

    You just had to be there between February and April 2024 in the case of DC Nordic.
    it literally went on emergency broadcasting for days and then after that all of the audio tracks except Norwegian, where on mute they even didn’t relaunch on April 1 like intended it was April 2 instead on April 1 the emea feed was still in Nordic countries like normal (because there was no one in control it was an Easter Monday)

    closing CN and disney channel in Africa would be a disaster most African countries are poor plus they don't even have Disney Plus or Max not even South Africa has Max yet! (good thing I don't live there anymore because geez it's gotten bad...)

    @RandomMe and it kind of makes sense South Africa is the "wealthiest" where I'm from (Nigeria) it is the most populated country in Africa however it is still in poverty kind of... although yes they made great strides

    I just mentioned the larger poles because there's more development. Nigeria developed a series of shorts for CN Africa and the compilation made it to Max CEE. Kenya already collaborated with CN Africa in 2014 for a character design competition. Not everything has to be monopolized in one region though, regardless of poverty

    Doraemon's history in France is an interesting one

    first it aired on M6 on Saturday mornings in 2003 but it did not achieve success then it aired in FOX kids France for a short time in 2003-2004

    Speaking of Doraemon, do you know if the 1979 series ever aired on American TV? I know for a fact the 2005 version aired on Disney XD for a while.

    @ToonDude03 It in fact did not there was the English dub in the 80s that panned to air in us but that didnt happen insted it was aired in barbados I think

    In Spain, it still airs on Boing and ETB 3.

    I remember back in early 2018 or thereabout CN+1 in Italy was replaced with a place with a pop-up Channel called "cartoon network Le Origini" and lt aired it aired mainly just CN classics i believe it lasted a couple of days before changing back to CN+1

    I wish boing Africa was on DStv that way when i back to my home country of Nigeria last summer I could have saw it maybe I could have record it

    Well it’s too late now. Unlike the Spanish and Italian feeds, Boing Africa is a rerun channel, and as such, airs Cartoon Network classics.

    apparently Disney channel in Germany has teleshopping? teleshopping on a kids channel just seems strange to me lol

    not even not even Nickelodeon or Toggo Germany does that

    even though CN and boomerang closed in Australia they can easily air the programming on other FTA channels some already air on ABC iView as well as ABC Family and ABC Entertains

    It could do. In the UK, several Cartoon Network shows have aired on CITV for a long time. For CBBC, We Bare Bears and Summer Camp Island and for Pop, some third-party shows for CN like Total DramaRama.

    It’s weird to replace a public broadcast channel with a localised feed of a foreign cable channel. It makes no sense since Italy no longer have Disney Channel and many of their shows are now on Super!.
