This is not a show, it is from a DC Italy promo from 2005-6 for the weekend afternoon movies.View attachment 319504
What show is this??
Yeah, to be fair, the current set up is too "strange"* to go on forever, so kind of a wise choice to rebrand the channel to something else.I wholeheartly approve of the choice, since the German Disney Channel was peculiar in its DNA. Hopefully the presentation is similiar to the one of Disney+ Cinema, it's quite nice and it can work in this case.
Kind of.Also, is it me or does the logo remind me of Pluto TV and similar services?
Must be a new trend, think of most streaming services having a plus sign or a written PlusKind of.
I mean, originality is not most companies' forte, although it goes without saying that a circle is hardly a Pluto TV exclusive
I remember when Disney Channel Germany did the same thing to The Nanny. They clinged to it in primetime for too long as well.As much as I like the likes of Home Improvement, they have been repeated for too long.
They tried to make those shows their equivalents of the US sitcoms ProSieben reruns ad infinitumI remember when Disney Channel Germany did the same thing to The Nanny. They clinged to it in primetime for too long as well.
Isn't this just a regular ident and those characters were made for this ident?View attachment 319504
What show is this??
I didn't expected this, the small changes in the TV schedule via adult sitcoms in Mein Morgen somehow worked enough for the bigger changes.Disney Channel Germany will rebrand to Disney TV in late 2026.

The channel will feature a much more broad selection of programming with "more content for adult audiences": Exclusive Disney+ content, documentations, FX, Marvel and Star Wars content.
Kids programming and family movies will still remain with dedicated slots as an integral part of the line-up, apparently (for now)
I personally unfortunately have to admit that this makes sense in terms of viewership and ad revenue, yet it is still extremely sad to see them gradually distance from kids programming
Likewise Dosney owns that show since its inception. I get it why they had to remove it, because one time a Disney Portugal employee at Comic Con Portugal or something like that, said in 2014 that if the same shows were still airing forever, they would get tired quickly. Something like that.Home improvement and some older sitcoms must have been rather popular in Germany, even they are to these days.
DC Germany showed it quite a bit, and well 10 years or so with the DC free-too-air relaunch, they would even get it back.
I like that retro factor, although yes, it couldn't continue for ever either
It's a bit of an industry trend, what with the kids content crisis and all thatI'm not remotely surprised. Kids content has been such an afterthought for them for the longest time. Guess that's what happens when you dedicate half the day to Bluey.
With the rename, they're definetly going to drop the 2022 look in the daytime, that's for sureTalking about disney channel germany can we talk about how different they use the daytime and night time graphics, the night time graphics are used nicely but the way they use the signature strokes graphics in the daytime is a mixed bag sometimes they use it good sometime not so much (Like how they at times barely utilize seasonal brands like summer, or they almost never air bumpers)
