General International TV Channels Thread

Why putting Sky with NBC rather than Comcast? This looks weird here. Maybe because they wanted to split media from communications.

Also, are they going to change the Sky logo in the UK and Italian market, after it happens?

Because Comcast is now for the telco stuff and Sky is a TV thing, mostly? Also, maybe the "Sky buys ITV" might have to do with that.

As I saw in their websites, Sky actually buys internet and broadband service. Suddenly, they wanted to separate it from Comcast.

For ITV and Sky, I guess Sky UK would have the ITV logo beside it and have a brand new name, while Sky Italia stays as it is without renaming, and maybe the platform in the Italian market would gets sold to another company (which is impossible!), like what happened in Germany when RTL Group took over Sky Deutschland.

Also, since Comcast spins off Sky, are they going to end internet and broadband services and get it phased out, as Comcast wanted to focus on telecommunications?

Keep your eyes on MCM tomorrow, up until 6am CET on Wednesday morning, for its unceremonious closing. The last trashy Syfy-ish movies air tonight.
It's joining Elle Girl too, finally someone will keep that company. It's always sad when a TV channel closes, but see the positive side, the forgotten Lagardère channel finally meets again one of the more lucky siblings.

I remember the Filles TV and June logos when browsing French operator websites back in the day

I kinda wondered if they made a goodbye promo like Game One had, tried to find it but no results.

I figured that they even did not care to make a one.

So this means the Comcast stake in SkyShowtime will ultimately evolve into a mere NBCUniversal stake (while the streaming service's content on the NBCUniversal side of things remains more or less unchanged in practice)?

Probaly NBCU is staying alone in that, Paramount intends to leave the sinking ship called SkyShowtime, sorry!

But where will Paramount's stuff (especially the Paramount+ and Nickelodeon stuff) go if Paramount exits SkyShowtime? Will Paramount+ (which SkyShowtime outright replaced) be brought back in Nordics?

I'm curious as to see how BVN will shut down in half a year. Will it be at the stroke of midnight? Because BVN usually took the clock feed from NPO 1 to count down to the new year. If anything I'm at least expecting BVN counting down to its own demise and thanking its viewers for watching, and that would be an occasional glimpse at a channel thanking them instead of treating their viewers like nothing, like what most automatized channels do.

A few days ago, 2x2 started censoring the LGBT flag

And the funniest thing is that I delayed this post for a long time, but I still wrote the news about it at around 13:00 Moscow time. Major media wrote about it only at ~22:00

I remember that TNT Music censored a physical rainbow in the sky by making the picture black and white

The sky at least

if you're a Russian TV channel, then it's always better to just play it safe than to risk either getting a RUB1 million fine or having your business get shut down down for 90 whole days (that's like three months!).
