General International TV Channels Thread

they don't seem to care about Kenya only South Africa and Nigeria, honestly to these companies rest of Africa is like Eastern Europe and South Africa is like Western Europe

Paramount had the guts to open an office in Nigeria at least unlike Disney and warner
But then again, this is where a conflict of interests (between local and international content) in the country arises.

The RRTV council has approved the complete changement of Warner TV, at the meeting on June 16, 2026 & to be released on all FTA services including DVB-T2, Sattelite & on the internet (IPTV). The new licence is available for 12 years.
This is just very weird. They should just rebrand it to Discovery Geographic.

Fresh (?) Italian news.
Something brewing in Rai with an upcoming channel fully dedicated to the Italian territory (If you remember of Yes Italia you win a cookie)? And a closure of Rai Scuola (it would become a content hub on Rai Play instead)???

Il Sole 24 Ore TV moves on the LCN 63 the 24th of June, closing one of the too many useless Gold TV-operated channels. Will it stabilize the LCN?

They should also air some of the Rai Italia originals concerning the regions. Granted, they are accessible in Italy on Rai Play.

News has appeared about Discovery and Eurosport leaving ZALA (Belarus)

The operator’s license from the rights holder has expired. As I found out, the rights have become expensive. There was a similar situation in Ukraine, where some operators also dropped these channels earlier because of their high price

Other operators will continue broadcasting Discovery and Eurosport. The distributor in Belarus - BetaTeleset, has denied a complete shutdown in the country.

Oh, so ex-Discovery Channels aren't actually gone from Belarus.

I think one of your predictions may become true...

The Prime-Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar, has proposed a new law to do a reformal to MTVA, along with Daniel Papp resign from the chief executive role.
This could begin starting from next week, if it is approved.
The new media law for MTVA has been approved by the new Hungarian parliment! This means the suspension and the reformal will come up on the following weeks.

I'm curious as to why Paramount couldn't just shut down the main MTV channel seeing as most of their shows are cancelled already.

Happy 25 years of La7, as a birthday gift, you get nothing! Not even a 25 slapped in the yellow bit in the logo!

Well, when your adversary is called Urbano Cairo, probably you have to expect nothing that has to make him spend on La7, LOL
But then again, I come from a country where TV anniversaries are often celebrated: RTP overall and TVI almost yearly, and SIC like every five years.

Sorry Guys, I Was Inactive Due To Longer Power Cut
That After Being Moved To A New One A Few Days Ago.
But Now, I'm Back As Usual.

Anyways, On 24th June 2001, At Exactly 10:35pm CET, During The Live Broadcast,
A Viewer Presses The 7th Button And So La7 Was Launched Using TMC's Frequency.

However, Minutes After The Launch, The TMC Bug Becomes Transparent
And Moved To The Top Right Corner Until The TMC Bug Removed Completely On 9th September.

Here Is The Launch Video Of La7 Which Happened On 24th June 2001.

Twoja Wizja promo loop from April 1998 - due to what it turned out to be a failed merger between Wizja TV and Canal+ only a few of Wizja TV channels were ready at the time for PTK (a Polish cable operator, later UPC Poland, now part of Play). Aside from Twoja Wizja promo channel they were: Atomic TV, Fox Kids Poland, CNN International and Knowledge TV (the two former channels in Polish, the latter ones were broadcast in English):

Interesting thing about Knowledge TV (aside from it having dubbed promos on Twoja Wizja channel, in spite of the channel broadcasting in English only) is that its presence on Wizja TV package was short-lived as the channel ceased broadcasting in Europe on June 6, 1998: Knowledge TV To Cease UK Broadcast

Two massive magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck parts of northwestern (Yaracuy state, Trujillo state, Carabobo state and Miranda state) and central (Caracas, eastern Miranda state and La Guaira state, the most affected) Venezuela causing major disruption across television broadcasting there.

The nation's oldest commercial channel that is currently in operation (which had turned 65 this year), Venevisión had its analog (including the main channel 4 frequency in Caracas and frequencies in La Guaira and Yaracuy) and master HD feeds (the one which is available on Venevisión Play within VE as well as cable and streaming providers) suffered a massive disruption when the quake hit their studios in Colinas de los Caobos, Caracas (where it has been broadcasted since its inception in 1961), cutting to a testcard.

Meanwhile, speaking of VV, the channel was just added to TelevenMax (rebrand of Televen Stream, which was originally Televen's main streaming service), a latecomer since when it launched, the channel wasn't available. Speaking of Televen, IDK if their analog (main channel 11 in Caracas (stationed within their studios in Sucre, Miranda state) and frequencies in Yaracuy and La Guaira) and master HD feed (which is available via TelevenMax for free within VE) were affected.

The big two state channels: VTV (which had their studios in Leoncio Martinez, also in Sucre, Miranda affected by the quake but their main analog (channel 8 in Caracas) and digital feeds remained unchanged) and TVES (had their schedule suspended to relay VTV) are covering nonstop about the quake alongside TeleSUR (both the main feed and the English feed).

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
