Old International Fox Kids/Jetix Channels Memorial Thread

Maybe in its last year of broadcasting, Jetix Play was basically a zombie channel with repeats, because control moved to Moscow, where Jetix was operated in a similar way. And that’s why there was the text “Jetix Play Russia.”

A similar bumper existed on Jetix CEE as well, and it said “Jetix Russia,” but it was rare. In general, this is supported by information from an employee on LinkedIn, where it is stated that Disney RU launched Disney CEE.

It’s just unclear why management of the CEE version was temporarily handed over to Moscow, and why CEE technically continued broadcasting from London, while the Russia version was moved to Moscow, if the same team was responsible for the editorial side.

Rare translated bumpers with translated names

It was a channel from Saudi Arabia.

Wouldn’t it have gone back to the UK by the time it became Disney Channel CEE?

Warsaw took control in the fall of 2010, so that was when Moscow lost control. But maybe it happened earlier.

(The only mistake there is that it says Jetix Russia launched in October, although in fact it was in September

Maybe Jetix CEE continued broadcasting in the CIS and the Baltics, and then Jetix Russia was launched. As far as I know, Jetix in the Baltics was shut down later.

The Jetix logo disappeared in exactly the same way when the CIS switched to the local feed in order to close the Disney block. Perhaps this is how they launched Disney in Romania and Bulgaria.

This was around the time Fox Kids UK tried to expand their demographics to girls by including shows like Braceface and So Little Time (the latter of which aired on Disney Channel Asia in 2002/03 (during the Circles era) for a short while before returning in 2005 (during the Bounce era), which still made more sense), but it didn't last long and only Totally Spies! (which also aired here on Disney Channel Asia) survived.

Braceface eventually returned to the Fox Kids UK schedule in 2004, at 2:30am.
and they still only aired Season 1 of Braceface (Seasons 1 and 2 according to Tubi or PlutoTV).
Seasons 2 and 3 (Seasons 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 respectively on Tubi and PlutoTV) didn't air in the UK until 2007 when PopGirl launched (you've seen all those old encodes from PopGirl have you?)

AFAIK, most international feeds of Fox Kids seemed to have given up airing Braceface after its first season, probably due to lack of interest. That said, only a handful of European territories got all three seasons such as France (where it aired on France 3, Gulli and Télétoon France), Portugal (because of no Fox Kids) and the aforementioned UK (where it aired on Pop Girl).

Another Jetix Israel continuity, from 2005:

Coming up next: another good local show because the CSBC needs us.

Also, the promo for Jetix Plus which I think was developed by Ananey? They did a lot of interactive data services for Yes and HOT back in the day

"Braceface" also aired fully (all 78 episodes) in Poland on MiniMax/ZigZap/teleTOON+: Aparatka – Dubbingpedia

Most likely, the Moscow office began providing technical support for Jetix Play and Jetix CEE (control room). There were no changes in the schedule or promo spots, except for bumpers with the text “Jetix Play Russia” and “Jetix Russia.” I’m more convinced that they inserted this as a joke, and these “changes” did not globally alter the channel from the plan of the London office.

But it is unclear why they transferred the pan-European channels to Moscow. Perhaps they wanted to create a hub there with international channels, but then decided against it, because they knew they would be launching the FTA Disney Channel through a partner, and paying them extra for capacity for the pan-European channels, or keeping a second technical staff in the Disney CIS office itself, would have been costly.

---
It could be assumed that this was done in order to smoothly close the Disney block in the CIS, but such actions could be done from London, yet for some reason the duties were placed on Moscow. Also, for some reason, Jetix Play was additionally handed over. And it was probably done back in 2008, when the Disney Stars block appeared.

Recordings with what? The EN track?

Here you have one.

Shows like H2O, Naruto, Shuriken School, and Magi Nation were never aired on Jetix Turkey (or EMEA), as far as I know. I’m not sure why. I remember that ,Naruto was broadcast on MTV Turkey in 2008. I recall a show being aired on multiple channels at the same time. There shouldn’t have been any issue with airing it on Jetix. The Jimmy Cool promo continued to air even after the transition to Disney XD, using the same trailer.

Jetix in Scandinavia and Netherlands aired all 3 seasons though
unfortunately i'm sure Jetix Israel gave up after Season 1 as well (DubDB claims it later aired on Nickelodeon in Israel but it's definitely not true as i've seen old schedules and it's not anywhere in them)
Fox Kids Germany not only got Braceface rather late (premiering it in Spring of 2003) but only aired Season 1, with Seasons 2 and 3 later premiering on the relaunched Nickelodeon in 2005-2006

@Walker
I think it might have been rights issues, as those shows aired elsewhere in Turkey
