Release Date: June 6, 2025 (Hulu)

Killer of Killers is an anthology story following three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. While all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.

Starring: Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa, Rick Gonzalez, Michael Biehn
Directors: Dan Trachtenberg, Joshua Wassung

Wow, this was another really great Predator movie. Brutal to the max.

Even before the events of Prey, in 1629, they got pretty hi-tech. Always curious what was the galvanizing moment that led to their technological advancement.

When Torres got that gun. Great stunner of a moment. Amazing how many hands that baby has gone through.

Hell, they got themselves a Rancor type creature.

It was low-key funny that even among the Predators, there's a zamboni guy, too.

Culturally, pretty interesting that in the 1940s, the Predator Homeworld was doing a Roman Coliseum type thing, grabbing those who kill Predators and pitting them against each other, and the current leader killed them to maintain power. But quite interesting if you think about it, feels like leadership and protocol changed by the time of the first Predator movie where they opted to blow themselves up to win as a last resort and as far as we know Dutch and Harrigan were not taken. The latter was even spared and given a gift. Though by Predators, we saw humans were still being kidnapped but used for training.

Let the hunt begin was a great omg moment rivaling Harrigan being surrounded. All those ships rising up and chasing after Torres and Kenji.

Hmm, they put Ursa on ice rather than kill her.

Naru!!!

They certainly left it open-ended for a sequel or I wonder them showing up in live-action. Prey 2 could reveal how Naru got captured but technically the end credits answered that: more came and the tribe was overwhelmed. They singled out Naru because she killed the Predator and took her like they did these three. Hell, Prey 2 could take place after this movie and this trio would make their live-action debuts trying to escape the planet and maybe even liberate other captives.

Eh, I didn't really care for it. The anthology nature of the majority of the film meant it was difficult to care about any of the stories because you knew they'd shift to something else shortly. And the three stories were just generic action plots, except with Predators on top of it. By the last 30 minutes when all three characters from the stories converge and they have to work together to defeat a bigger foe, it gets a little better, but we've still seen "kill each other, then you have to kill ME" plots before.

...It just dawned on me, this was very similar to the DC film Justice League: Warworld. Similiar "characters from different time periods come together at the end", too.

Also wasn't a big fan of the animation style. It looks nice in stills, but they unfortunately opted for the choppy style seen in the Spider-verse movies, rather than the smoother feel to Arcane.

I loved it. I loved each story, and the one brought together. And the implications from Prey.

The animation was a bit video gamey. But... video game animation can be effective too. Most of FF XIII's cut scenes are in-engin. But otherwise, they told the story, communicated emotion, and did all of this effectively. Good stories are still being told in pixilated games without voice acting made to-day. Reboot still slaps for me to this day. Prob for the writing, maybe from nostalgia. But I it would be hard to watch, these days, if the talent didnt shine through the old tech.

Ok, so the Predator king's "cape". Like... was that made of Xenomorph spines? Did he kill that many??

Speaking of, I Love These Character Designs! Espcecially for the Predators. And I hope Lindsay LaVanchy get an ANNIE nom for her voice work for Ursa. Damn good work.

This was a pretty metal movie. A Viking, samurai, and ace pilot being forced to fight a gladiator match is what every 15 year old would want to see in a predator movie. Not surprised this went direct to streaming as adult animation can seemingly only succeed on the small screen. Definitely small screen production values, but very good small screen production values.

So the gladiator pit was just to amuse themselves for the day. All that hunting, travel, cryo tech, and effort just to get something fun to watch for the day. That is... good world building, horrible, and .. just dang.
Yeah, it suddenly became Roman Coliseum with a Rancor.

A couple days away from it, I'm starting think maybe these three characters were live action Prey 2, Prey 3, and Prey 4 culminating in this crossover of characters in a 5th and some executive had the foresight to say, "Nah, just combine it into 1 animated movie but leave some meat on the bone for the next movie with Naru."

I'm also interested to see if Predator Badlands ties in somehow.

Also, with cryo in play, does the 4th part of the movie take place in the 1940s? If not, how long was Torres asleep? It has to be before the 1980. That's when Danny Glover gets the flint lock.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. It would have narrowed the timeline down if we saw Dutch in one of those cryo pods. Predator 2 came out in '90 but in-universe, I believe it was set later like the mid-90s. So there was a 50-ish year range it could have been in.

Review: “Predator: Killer Of Killers”: Killing Time

pkokf.png

Predator: Killer of Killers is the newest entry in the Predator franchise. This time, we’re dealing with an animated anthology, a collection of stories set in different time periods, where the titular creatures arrive on Earth and hunt down what they believe to be worthy prey. The movie was directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung, and written by Micho Robert Rutare. Director Trachtenberg previously did the live-action movie Prey, set in this same continuity (be on the lookout for a couple of Easter eggs, too!), and will likewise have directing responsibilities for the next live-action movie, Predator: Badlands, set to be released later this year.

“The Shield”

The first story depicted in Predator: Killer of Killers takes place in 841 A.D. and follows Ursa (voiced by Lindsay LaVanchy), a fierce Norse warrior who leads a group of Vikings including her son, Anders. She’s seeking vengeance against Zoran, the leader of another clan who forced her when she was a child, to murder her own father. It doesn’t matter how many stand in her way, Ursa has so far been able to defeat her opponents in some pretty brutal ways. Once she finds Zoran, things get even more complicated seeing as how a Predator also shows up. The creature makes short work of just about every warrior present there but Ursa does manage to prove she’s an worthy opponent.

This was an interesting segment. In a way, the Viking lore and story about wanting revenge could have worked well enough even without bringing in alien hunters. The brutal nature of the Norse warriors fits in well though with the whole concept of the Predators and it feels appropriate to have at least a short story in this time period. It’s also a nice touch that all of the dialogue here is in Norse language (although I cannot vouch for how correct or accurate the lines are).

"“Predator: Killer Of Killers” Animated Movie Updated With Extra Ending Scene"

pkokextraf.jpg

"Predator: Killer of Killers, the animated anthology and newest entry in the Predator franchise debuted last month of Hulu, has been updated so to speak, with a brief extra scene towards the end. Following news from the big San Diego Comic-Con event this year, during a panel focusing on the franchise, an extended ending was shown, which is now also included in the actual movie available on streaming.

The animated anthology features stories about warriors in various eras, like Vikings, Feudal Japan, and during World War II, encountering the alien species of hunters. There’s also an epilogue that ties all of the stories together, more or less. Considering we’re discussing the ending scene of a movie that has premiered less than two months ago, please note this article might contain spoilers for those who haven’t checked it out yet. For more thoughts on the actual movie, feel free to check out the review published on AnimeSuperhero, by this same reporter."

It doesn't pay to be a main character in this franchise...
In retrospect, it's interesting there was no cameo of Royce or Isabelle. Unless this takes place prior to 2010. Then again the 'Super Predator' tribe in Predators seems like its own group vs. the one in this movie. But even then, I guess Grendel King's group are monitoring all hunts done by all tribes and then snatching up survivors? Otherwise, why would that elder toss Harrigan the gun as a prize only for him to be captured and put on ice some point later?

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
