Schedule change/update for CN UK in May.
Starting on the 1st, Regular Show returns at 9pm, followed by Adventure Time at 9:30pm.
Power Players will run on late-nights at 11pm and 5am.

The rest still remains, with Gumball at 10pm and then from Midnight to 5am, and Ben 10 will be shown at 5:35am.

And it looks like they're still doing that weird occasional one-off thing with Make, Shake & Jake. it'll replace Gumball from 1:30 to 2:40, but only on the 1st day.

Boomerang channel promo on CN CEE, 2008

And a Xiaolin Showdown next bumper from around the same time. The announcer has a weird accent.

I honestly think I can speak better Hungarian than that

Somewhere during the Arrow era (I think it was in early 2010), CN EMEA finally added a Dutch voice over. She sounded native but she didn't sound like a good voice-over AT ALL. I am pretty sure that (back then) the voice-overs for CN CEE and CN EMEA were done in the UK and maybe also Poland.

They kept using that voice when CN NL relaunched, although in combination with better voices. You can hear her here. (The date from this video is wrong. It's from December 2010 or January 2011)

I remember old CN Poland announcers like Witold Pyrkosz (i don't know if he was since 1998, but he stopped announcing on 2014), Joanna Pach (i think she might appeared in early 2010), and Artur Pontek (2014/15-early 2020). IMO present announcer Michał Podsiadło is iritating me.

I don't remember ever hearing that announcer. The way he said the show's name tho. Lol.
Many of them were based in London (especially in order to save money from Turner UK) have poor experience in the dubbing section, and based in London means they might pronounce certain English terms the affected English-speaking way, which is OK..in English, but sounds odd otherwise.

You must have confused him with Wojciech Piekarski, who actually was CN's Polish announcer in years 1998-2014.
That was a good voice.

I miss him when I watch CN videos.. also, having just one announcer is boring

Back in the day, both Jetix and Cartoon Network had terrible Hungarian voiceover work done for the promotional material... with one exception. László Heckenast was the only channel voice that sounded like a native Hungarian and was also great at being an announcer. He did voiceover work for Nick, Jetix and CN pretty much around the same time.

Aside from him however, most announcers on CN and Jetix were pretty poor, a lot of the time they clearly weren't native or good at speaking in general. The two other more notable people who did voiceover work before the Check It 1.0 era are Gergő Danka and Anita Tóth.

It did not help that promos were translated either by non-natives, again, or by machine-translation. The titles for most series were also messed up (although that is still a problem, to this day - no wonder I called LTS "New Looney Tues" earlier in the thread, they always mix up the title of those 2 series).

My Gym Partner is a Monkey for instance is either Az osztálytársam egy majom or Az edzőtársam egy majom, depending on who you ask.

To give a (somewhat) recent example (summer of 2016):
Exchange Student Zero was called Hiro, a csodagyerek in the first promo(s?) but in actuality, the title of it was Hiro, a cseregyerek.

Though these examples sort of make sense, other (older ones) really don't, like how Pet Alien was called Kis idegen világi in its first promo (which is just nonsense, it literally means "little alien worldly"). (@ 0:14, courtesy of Random)

The real title for the series was Űrkedvencek.

Other translation quirks included names of characters, the best example of which was Bloo from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. In some early promos, they called him "Puhi" when in actuality his name stayed Bloo for the series' dub.

The odd language mix-up during promos was also somewhat prevelant at the time, as seen in this Ben 10 promo from 2007. (@ 8:27, courtesy of Random)

Well, i saw a CN Poland poster next bumper from City era of Ben 10 where the announcer didn't say "Ben Ten" but "Ben Dziesiątka" on YouTube. (@ 0:01)

Yes, the same was true for CN NL. They called it Foster's Thuis voor Denkbeeldige Vriendjes, which contains 3 mistakes.

1) Fosters is without an apostrophe in Dutch.
2) Thuis means "home" as in "at your own house". An adoptive home or a retirement home is called a "tehuis".
3) The Dutch dub calls imaginary friends "fantasievriendjes" (little fantasy friends).

The actual title is "Fosters tehuis voor fantasievriendjes".

The original series of Ben 10 is called Ben Tien in Dutch, after that it's Ben Ten.

Same for Ben 10 Race Against Time theme and the City era Ben 10 next bumpers in Hungarian. They said "Ben Tíz" instead of "Ben Ten".

In Polish is either "Mój kumpel z WF-u jest małpą" or "Mój partner z sali gimnastycznej jest małpą".

In Polish early promo they called Bloo "Blusik", but in Polish dub they keep his original name.

The real title for the series was Űrkedvencek.

Over here, the show is called "Ufolągi" (portmanteau of "Ufo" and "Dziwolągi"), but CN's Polish announcers (including Marek Strzelczyk in the video below) for some reason (apparently due to Turner's having the show's Polish name written without diacritics and consequently making poor guesswork) mispronounced the show's name as "Ufołagi":

I remember one video from CN Poland with City era next bumper of Camp Lazlo where announcer didn't say "Harcerz Lazlo" but something like "Harcerz Lashlo" on YouTube.

Cartoon Network Latin America's block that airs older shows from Cartoon Network Studios - Cartoon Pop (aka Cartoon Zaum on CN Brazil) will stop broadcasting in May.

The Cartoon Pop programming block already ended on the Cartoon Network Latin America Argentina sub-feed on 23rd April.

The Latin American launch of HBO Max could be the reason why the block is leaving.

Captain Tsubasa and Regular Show also leave the Cartoon Network Latin America (Argentina sub-feed) schedule.

Basically the only good thing to come out of the LA/BR CN feeds has been vanished. The feeds will have nothing special anymore.

Cartoon Network CEE continuity fragment from 2008.

aaaaah basically this is the playlist that the Romanian subfeed of CN CEE was always playing to death after their insterted Romanian commercials. I never grew tired from seeing them! I can tell how the subfeed had the Baboon bumper from here plus the music video 80s-like KND bumper in a different framerate than on the normal CN CEE feed, the former having them with ghost frame issues! Those were the days, though I often wished for the normal CN CEE feed to play instead of the inserted continuity. I knew all along that the original broadcast was edited and plastered over, but never knew the actual reason behind it until now! Not to mention that the Romanian subfeed had no CN bug in the corner, compared to the Hungarian one.

Here's the continuity of Cartoon Network UK from January 2006.

so now we know the continuity behind the premieres of Johnny Test on CN UK. I don't know any other CN feed to also get that abomination of Coconut Fred...

Also, notice how that constant "Draw-a-Toon" promo has paintings on the wall of Dastardly and Muttley and Yogi Bear..... Also, at that time, weren't Scooby-Doo related stuff only restricted to Boomerang in the UK?

They kept using that voice when CN NL relaunched, although in combination with better voices. You can hear her here. (The date from this video is wrong. It's from December 2010 or January 2011)

Ouch. She does sound a bit bad.

Speaking of wrongly-translated shows titles, I can name a few from Romanian:
- My Gym Partnet's a Monkey: the official dubbing name was "Colegul meu de sală e o maimuță", though some promos and NEXT bumpers changed the word "Colegul" to "Partenerul". They basically mean the same thing.
- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: "Casa Foster pentru prieteni imaginari" in its official dubbing, but "Foster și prietenii închipuiți" in some promos. "imaginari" and "închipuiți" can mean the same thing, but there are times when the words can have different connotations. Plus, it may just seem at first that from the unofficial promo name, "Foster" seems more a person than the name of a foster home.
- KND: "Nume de cod: Clanul nebunaticilor de alături" for the official name, which is actually a literal translation for the full extended original English name. Most of the promos call it "Clanul năzdrăvanilor deosebiți", which if you think about it sounds more like an extension of the "K.N.D." initials, as they intentionally found words that start with these three letters (of course, the "c" is often pronounced as a "k" in some foreign languages include our, so it makes sense)
- Be Cool, Scooby-Doo: "Fii calm, Scooby-Doo" for the official dubbed title, but "Fii tare, Scooby-Doo" for all the promos and bumpers. Technically, both variations are a literal translation of the English name. "calm" and "tare" can both be translated as "cool" in English, and these are the exact two meanings of this word: "calm"/"chill" or "hip"/"trendy". The one who was actually wrong is the dubbing studio, which should have known that the crew behind BCSD meant the word "cool" as the sense of "hip" and "out there with the 21st century".

Not only that, but even some character names were messed up here in Romanian. Rat in a Hat (from CGI Bananas in Pyjamas on Boomerang / Cartoonito) was officially called, in a way different take, "Șobo", which is a diminutive short form nickname of "șobolan", which the latter is the Romanian equivalent word of "rat", which he actually is. Promos and even the old Boomeang website back then called him "Șoricelul cu șapcă", and despite trying to translate the English name literally, "șoricel" is actually the diminutive of the Romanian word for "mouse", not "rat". But after all, at least in the CGI, he looked more like a normal mouse than a rat, so I can understand.

Still. sometimes I get the feeling that those who voice-over the promos just don't bother to look on the actual dubbing of the show first. It can be very embarrasing most of the time.

There is another difference. Whilst the normal feed changed the logo twice (in 2008 to a bigger one and in 2010 to a red-sided one), the Hungarian subfeed kept the small 2006 bug until the 2010 rebrand.

Cartoon Network CEE Schedule and Highlights for May 2021

- Elliott from Earth premieres on 24th May. The show will air daily at 14.55 CET (replacing DCSHG), with reruns the day after at 11.20 CET (replacing Total DramaRama) and on weekdays at 20.00 CET (replacing Gumball, irony or not). On the premiere day, the entire 4-part pilot of the series will air all in one day, while afterwards the rest of the whole first season will be spawned two episodes daily, so 16 episodes aired in 7 days (exactly until the beginning of the next month, 01/06).
- More new adventures of Bakugan: Armored Alliance (S2.4, episodes 40-52) are premiering on 8th May, with new episodes airing daily at 20.30 CET until 20th May. Reruns will be the day after at 07.20 CET. Thus, the Armored Alliance arc will come to an end on CN CEE. The upcoming season, Bakugan: Geogan Rising, premiered exclusively on Netflix in the USA, so Idk if internationally it will still be spread on Cartoon Network or it will stay on Netflix everywhere. Though, Teletoon still got this new season to broadcast in Canada, so we should see.
- The second Ben 10 season 5 special, "Ben Gen 10", premieres on 9th May at 13.35 CET, as part of the CN Afternoon Fun block. It will rerun on 15th May, also at 13.35 CET.
- New episodes of Teen Titans Go (S6.3) premiere on 10th May, airing daily at 15.25 CET. Reruns will be at 18.20 CET plus the day after at 06.25 and 10.25 CET. It took them some time ever since the last premiere of TTG on the channel, though it isn't worse than how other series are treated. (hello, Total DramaRama!) 26 new episodes, in total, the last episodes of this season will be aired until 21st May when S6 of the show will end on the CEE feeds. The batch will first start with the 4-part special episode "Where Exactly on the Globe Is Carl Sanpedro?", with all four parts premiering in one day on 10th May. From 11th May onwards, two new episodes of TTG will premiere per day, and that is actually a first for a series like TTG. I thought only the "unimportant" series are being given the two-episodes burn-off treatment.
- Meet Your Heroine, a brand new programming block, starts on 1st May and airs daily from 10.50 till 13.35 CET. The block is dedicated to the female superhero stars of Cartoon Network and consists of episodes of: DC Superhero Girls, The Powerpuff Girls (the reboot, obviously) and Unikitty (the show is brought back to the schedule but only for this marathon). The block will last until 16th May.
- Continuing: Finn & Jake's Epic Journey (until 09/05), CN Afternoon Fun (ongoing) and Toony Tube (ongoing)

Schedule changes:
- As suggested by @kb6000 and as I noticed today, Marathon Mix unexpectedly started airing one week ago despite not being planned in the schedule initially (last-minute changes again...). It currently airs weekdays from 10.25 till 13.35 CET after The Looney Tunes Show (a.k.a the "Boomerang" hour). Last week they aired TTG while now it seems that Victor and Valentino is the show that currently is part of the marathon (at least we get to see more of it). Considering the Meet Your Heroine marathon starts on 1st May airing on the interval MM currently broadcasts, it may be safe to assume the latter will be over from the beginning of the month being replaced by the new marathon. At least it would be the most logical to do so...
- Teen Titans Go will air at 10.25 CET instead of Craig of the Creek for the first 16 days of the month, after which Craig gets back that slot and the whole morning schedule comes back to normal after the Heroine block is done.
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs replaces Mao Mao at 16.55 CET..... A change which is actually effective ever since one week ago. Mao Mao is once again completely out of the schedule while we obviously have to make room for "better" shows.
- Regarding the AT marathon, this month more good news occur when the episodes "A Glitch is a Glitch" and "Puhoy" (S5) will rerun for the first time on the channel after so many months on 1st May at 16.25 CET (back to back), while the "rare sight" two-part episode "The More You Know, The Moe You Know" will air on 4th May at 14.55 CET!! It seems this block really wants to wrap up all the adventures of this series. Also about Finn & Jake's Epic Journey, I have been confirmed by a friend who watches CN CEE that "Jake vs. Me-Mow" has been aired today on the channel instead of the proposed "New Frontier". If this is true, then it's a damm big thing!!! The episode was banned and ommited by CN CEE ever since 2014 along with other "dark" episodes (like "Mortal Recoil"), so I hope some of you can also confirm this to make sure! It will really be the best surprise for this channel!!!
- As pointed out by @EdCNPowerpuffDrama , The Looney Tunes Show is gone this month and replaced by an hour of Mr. Magoo (2019) at 09.00 CET, from 31st May.
- As part of CN Afternoon Fun this month are: Teen Titans Go (01/05-08/05), Ben 10 reboot (09/05-16/05; where "Ben Gen 10" will, again, also broadcast inside the block) and Craig of the Creek (17/05-06/06).
- A big change to the night schedule: Lego Ninjago is completely gone and is going to be replaced, from 31st May, in all of its overnight slots by Power Players, another European quota fill. So Lego is basically dead for CN CEE (not counting Unikitty). Power Players will move away from its "temporary visit" to Boomerang back to its "home", though not the way you would think!

(all times CET and may be subject to delays, changes are bolded; slots marked in aqua blue are part of Toony Tube; slots marked in purple are part of Meet Your Heroine)

I have to admit that the "smaller" 2006 channel bug was the one I remember the LEAST. I always had the impression it first came over when the "Ben TV" schedule started and it only stayed on that time. I saw some recordings on the internet of CN CEE with the "smaller" bug but never I remember seeing it the most on TV.

CN NL has stopped doing monthly press releases :( Does anyone know when Craig of the Creek S3 will premiere? We are already 30 episodes behind.
Colegul meu de sală e o maimuță
"Colegul meu" looks like Latin "collega meus". I think Romanian is the only Romance language that still says it in this order. (French "mon collègue" is more like Dutch "mijn collega" and English "my collegue")

- The Looney Tunes Show is gone this month and replaced by an hour of Mr.

As always, thanks for these. Heard about the Mr. Magoo replacing Looney Tunes thing on April 1st and got really disappointed. The Looney Tunes Show is such a great show, and it sucks that it will get removed again this early, with a show that already airs on another channel. Just. Why.

Still no DramaRama S2, despite the US already starting season 3 of the show. What is even going on at this point. It makes no sense why the wait is this long.
