CN Ratings Thread: Part 13

A morning hour is fine really. I think Looney Tunes generally does better than Tom and Jerry, perhaps because of TLTS boost. I know Tom and Jerry did great last year but they must have removed it for a reason, so I thought perhaps it hasn't done too great lately. Flintstones and Jetsons were removed after just a few weeks in January. Looney Tunes might simply be an exception to this.

Those are some damn good ratings for Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry Tales. I now get why they kept Tales instead of the original.

Here's some interesting ratings info from Thursday:

Looney Tunes (1:00pm) 2.056 million viewers (0.5 Adults 18-49 rating)
Tom & Jerry Tales (2:00pm) 1.993 million viewers (0.5 Adults 18-49 rating)

Nice to see older episodes pulling in great numbers, considering they were unadvertised. Correct me if I'm wrong but both of these numbers beat MAD's Monday night premiere yes?
Errr... wow. O.o

Those are some very good ratings. I was home to watch Looney Tunes btw on Thursday. :D

Amazing that it continues. I mean, even taking into considderation that it's summer break, this puts most premieres to shame.

Another interesting piece of ratings info via TVBytheNumbers:

Sunday:
Space Jam @ 12:15pm - 2.39 million viewers (0.8 adults 18-49 share)

It looks like June Bugs was a good decision for Cartoon Network. I for one thoroughly enjoyed it and hope it continues.

I really can't wait to see the whole day ratings for Sat. and Sun.

via TheFutonCritic.com:

Regular Show (8:00) - Cartoon
2.475 million viewers, #7; 0.550 million adults 18-49 (0.4 rating), #19

Annoying Orange (8:30) - Cartoon
2.174 million viewers, #10; 0.434 million adults 18-49 (0.3 rating), #22

Mad (8:45) - Cartoon
1.783 million viewers, #13; 0.351 million adults 18-49 (0.3 rating), #24

Has Cartoon Network finally found their 4th Monday night comedy show? After the failures of Robotomy, The Problem Solverz, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome... Annoying Orange is actually doing really well.

I fear this is MAD's last season. I'm in the minority that still finds it hilarious, and the ratings aren't as good as the other comedies...

Annoying Orange is probably still hurting MAD a bit, but it is nice that it's actually doing well, hopefully that will keep up!

Level Up - Cartoon
1.742 million viewers, #12; 0.328 million adults 18-49 (0.3 rating), #22

Level Up only scored 1.7? I mean, that'd be fine for another show, but not for a show that gets promoted to hell and back. Hell, Mad scored a 1.7 without virtually any promotion besides when the new episode is about to premier.

Level Up even had TDRi as a lead-in. But yeah, this is how it usually is. This is actually higher than Level Up usually gets. It should no longer surprise anyone.

I'd say CN's found their post-DC Nation lineup.

Looney Tunes Show beat Power Rangers and SpongeBob, and though it's not unusual, Johnny Test beat the first Penguins and Redakai came close to the second. I think it has beaten it before, which may be why CN keeps it around.

Almost everything did great. Beyblade and Pokemon have shown that they can do better, but that there is fine. Annoying Orange did good enough and RS and TLTS dominated. But then there's DC Nation, which did terrible and drags the whole morning down. They might have to remove it when there's no premieres except for shorts.

See, I've been saying add some classics or comedies for a while. DC Nation really put the morning down. Without those couple shows, I have to say that the morning would've got at least a 2.0.

I really want to see what happens when they add Looney Tunes to the mornings though and not Looney Tunes Show, even though the success is there. CN better keep this as their morning block.

Well to be fair, the action shows are easier to follow when they're on in the afternoons (like Toonami once was, or even air them after tom and jerry). It's understandable why it'd be frustrating for a viewer to try watching such a plot driven show like Young Justice from the middle of its run.

Lately, CN just doesn't know where to play their action shows anymore... not after they moved Toonami from the afternoons. :1

EDIT: And I agree, CN has finally found their post-DC Nation line up. :>

It's nice to see TLTS doing good in reruns and only .2 away from Wizards if Waverly Place's 12PM airing in K6-11 too. Regular Show did pretty good as well. That 2.4 Million with Regular Show on Monday is pretty good for it's lead-in ,Adventure Time putting up a fight with both Figure It Out and Big Time Rush. I think they can hit 3 Million once this summer if the competition slacks off at some point.

There's nothing that can be said positive about DC Nation's ratings. I mean, I would argue that the low ratings are due to re-runs, but even when there are new episodes, they barely score higher than what we saw this past weekend. And, we all know how CN operates, but surely that won't can it at the drop of a hat because its a DC property, but the lack of promotion for a brand new block with dedicated shorts is kind of a hint. I really hope things pick up, because I really like Young Justice and Green Lantern. When are the new eps coming back?

I assume new episodes will return this fall, sometime around September. Both Young Justice and Green Lantern only have 13 episodes left for this season so they'll probably air straight through. That'd be my guess anyway.
