"Scooby-Doo - Mystery, Inc." News & Discussion Thread

lol @ them calling this a 2nd season just to get people hyped up.

Two 26 episode seasons shown over 2 to 3 years, or four 13 episode seasons shown over 2 to 3 years... It is all word play. I'm just glad they are starting on the second half of the 26 episode story.

I was going to look over my notes and review some of the things we have learned in the first 13 episodes, but with the availability of some of the new eps from various sources (I haven't watched them), it would be a bit silly to speculate on things that may have already been confirmed or refuted in the available new episodes. It will be nice when the generally available episodes catch up to the "spoilers".

Since the episodes are "chapters" its kind of funny that season2 will just be chapter 14. Unless whenever season2 offically comes around they keep with the numbering of 27 and dont restart at chapter.1

Since when has this show been produced in conjunction with crystal eye ent. ? ( from wiki)

I just saw a promo yesterday, I'm so glad this show is back on, I was scared it had gotten canceled or something. This is the most interesting Scooby Doo show I have ever watched.:crying:

Nah, some people are too exaggerated when it comes to this. CN ALWAYS do this type of nonsense when they take a show to a very long hiatus until they announce new episodes which i still feel its a bad strategy from CN's part since Canada already shown some of the new episodes.......i seriously hate when Networks do that to their shows.

I've checked out wikipedia and and according to it (this part is something that can be reliable) the next five episodes have already premiered on iTunes and Teletoon. Also, from the descriptions I read on them, things are about to get even crazier.

Where does it say? I checked at wiki yet nothing, probably it was false information.

The last time CN pulled this "season 2" crap and relocated a show...it died. ;) But of course, Scooby seems popular enough to last a while and has a big name in front of it.

Remember it was placed on a night that didn't fit it's theme, whereas here they seem to be building a second comedy night.

Speculations on Ed Machine

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, but I've been working on the scoobydoo wikia for a little while. One interesting discovery I made there was about Ed Machine -- CEO of Destroido (who puts landfill in Nature Slivers) and also the secret henchman of Mr. E (or so he told Alice May).

What do people think? Is he really working for Mr. E, or does he have his own agenda?

They do not look exactly like the same person to me, based on the stills I'd seen (which admittadly, were heavily shadowed). From what I can tell, they are two different people.

There was something I noticed on the site that might be a clue:

Could Brad Chiles and Velma's mother, Angie be siblings? I ask this because they do bear similar characteristics to one another. Both have a white streak in their hair, have freckles in the same place and even a dimple on the chin. When Velma's mom tells her to look up Harlan Ellison and tell her "Cape Cod Dinkley said hello", it seemed to hint that Velma's family may have moved out of town for a while (perhaps after the diappearance or after she married Velma's father) but eventually returned to Crystal Cove. It's possible the Dinkleys opened the museum in order to find more info about Brad's disappearance. My only hang up on this theory is that wouldn't Velma know what her mother's maiden name was (if indeed it was, "Chiles") and put two and two together?

I wasn't completely convinced based on looks alone (cartoon characters tend to look alike) but I found these voice credits for Richard McGonagle on IMDB:
Where Walks Aphrodite (2011) … Ed Machine (voice)
When the Cicada Calls (2010) … Ed Machine/Announcer/Creepy Voice(voice)
The Secret Serum (2010) … Ed Machine (voice)
The Legend of Alice May (2010) … Ed Machine (voice) (uncredited)

I definitely think you have something there. And Velma's mother may have told her that her maiden name was something else. If Angie Dinkley's goal is to find out what happened to the missing kids that means she has the same agenda as Mr. E. Could she be working with Mr. E?

She can't be Mr. E alone, because she couldn't get to Gatorsburg, remove a car engine, and get back home in time to take a phone call from Velma. But she could if she had an accomplice (Ed Machine, Angel Dynamite, etc.) I'd like to see an Angel Dynamite connection because of the common A.D. initials.

I think multiple people are working for Mr.E. Thats why he can do all this stuff so quickly.

Mr. E and the executioner

Yes, but not too many or it would be hard to keep it a secret. It looks like the guy in the executioner costume in ''Grasp of the Gnome'' is another accomplice if it's not Ed Machine.

Vivica Fox came through my job yesterday, and the paparazzi was trying to pry her for storylines for Scooby Doo, but she wasn't having it. It was kind of funny to watch.

Whoa! Where do you work?

While we (at least through the first 13 episodes) have no definitive way of knowing who was under the executioner's hood, it looked to me as if this person (the executioner) had the same general build as Mr. Fruitmeir--that is, a sort of dumpy, pear shaped body type. Since I (and perhaps some others) lean (again, given what we know through the first 13) toward the idea that Fruitmeir is Mr. E, that means that the executioner was Mr. E doing his own work.

I see -- Fruitmeir could have been the one who left the Mystery Incorporated locket, since the barrels with radiation symbols contain his product. Hadn't thought of that before. Fruitmeir has at least half a dozen barrels with radiation symbols on them in his store-room, and many more small containers. You can see them when Fred asks, "Monster? What monster?" (If Fruitmeir is Mr. E, no wonder he doesn't mind working with a man who makes contaminated food products. They're birds of a feather).

Fruitmeir's is not just a one-episode deal, either. In "The Secret Serum" Shaggy suggests it as a place to look for the vampire and Fred says "That's thinking outside the box." In context, Shaggy probably just wanted to eat there, but it could be a note to the viewer as well,

It was also one of the places shown in flashback to be destroyed by a Humungonaut, so it must have been insured by Max or Jax Minner. Not too significant, other than that it keeps showing up.
