On Friday Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television, appeared at San Diego Comic-Con’s Agent Carter panel along with producers Tara Butters, Chris Dingess, and Michele Fazekas, Peggy Carter herself Hayley Atwell, and James D’Arcy, otherwise known on the show as Howard Stark’s butler (and Peggy’s sidekick) Edwin Jarvis.

Unfortunately, the cast didn’t reveal many secrets that we didn’t already know about. The first thing mentioned was that the new season would have ten episodes, up from the original season’s eight, but this had already been announced when the season was revealed. They also said there would be a location change to vintage 1940’s Hollywood, but we already knew that as well.

At least the presence of D’Arcy confirmed the return of Jarvis, which we weren’t sure of previously. Not only will Stark’s butler be back, so will Stark: being a millionaire, he owns more than one mansion, after all. He’ll just be in his Beverly Hills estate, AND overseeing his new movie studio, which we’re told the main mystery will originate from.

As for the reason behind giving Season 2 a different setting….well, why not? But Tara Butters said, “We wanted the glamour of old Hollywood and the noir grit and crime of Los Angeles. Changing the location generates such great stories and interactions between the characters.” The producers also revealed that now that Peggy’s put Steve Rogers behind her and resolved to move on, you can expect a potential love interest or two to catch her eye.

Lastly, this was not part of the panel, but it’s worth pointing out anyway: Agent Carter will be heading to Blu-Ray and DVD this fall with The Complete Season 1, available at Amazon in this stylish cover. It’s been a great series so far, and visually it deserves the Blu-ray treatment. Support it!
