Darn. People who’ve been tracking the new Mirror’s Edge game know it’s been subjected to several delays, but with an open beta taking place beginning tomorrow, it was thought that we’d seen the last of them. But nope. Developer DICE said today they need to borrow a little more time. The good news is that they’ve only added two weeks.

The delay is, in fact, due to the beta: DICE decided it would be a good idea to add extra time in case an issue arises in testing that needs to be addressed before release. Erik Odeldahl, design director on Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, said they “want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. We’re confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.”

When a modern developer isn’t completely willing to sell a broken game and fix it with patches later, that’s a good thing. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is now set to come out June 7 for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
