Hulu has officially revealed when the next season of the King of the Hill revival launches. It’s smack in the middle of summer, and Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss will all be back as the main cast. Huss is no longer Kahn, but has picked up the role of Dale after Johnny Hardwick’s passing — and he does a remarkable job!
The revival takes place a few years after the timeline of the original series, where Hank and Peggy are now retired and Bobby is an up-and-coming gourmet chef in Dallas. So far it has been a big success for Hulu, ranking as the most viewed adult animation season premiere in five years across both the streamer and its parent Disney+. It hauled in 4.4 million views in just its first seven days.
So what happens in this season? …They won’t tell us. The official synopsis is generic enough that it could summarize the previous season: “Hank and Peggy settle into retirement life on Rainey Street while attempting to keep their neighbors from going off the rails. Bobby navigates old friendships while dealing with the stresses of being an entrepreneur.” We’re forced to examine the poster they gave us for real details.

That’s certainly a twist no one expected! Can’t wait for the episode where Arlen is about to be crushed by a giant man in a cowboy hat.
Other than that, the jacket Hank is wearing suggests he steps out of retirement to get a job in the world of natural gas, though said job would involve more than one gas and Hank betraying Lady Propane would be nearly as scandalous as Dale getting crushed by a giant cowboy. We’ll see what happens there.
And Bill has a plant. Good for Bill.
King Of The Hill returns with ten new episodes, dropped all at once, on Hulu and Hulu/Disney+ joint accounts July 20.
