Variety reports that the Walt Disney Animation Studios have resurrected the King of the Elves project, commissioning a new script from Michael Markowitz, who also wrote the script for the upcoming film Horrible Bosses and was a writer and producer on CBS’s Duckman. The movie is based on a Phillip K. Dick short story about a human tapped for the office of the title after saving the elves from an evil troll. Chris Williams (Bolt) is heading up the project, which was shelved in the wake of the Disney/Pixar merger.
