Today, July 16, is the day WB’s Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 3 is released on digital….long promised to contain the final performance of the late Kevin Conroy as Batman. That means clips of the specific scene are now being shared across social media. If you haven’t seen it already, then let’s watch it together.

For a while after Conroy’s passing in 2022, there was conflicting information about what his last released recording would be. Some feared it would be an unflattering scene in the lackluster video game Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, released earlier this year. Some thought it would be in a different video game, MultiVersus, but neither have turned out to be the case. Conroy’s last Batman is in this movie. So the only remaining question is….does he go out on a good note?

Folks, you couldn’t have asked for a better one. Due to the circumstances of the scene, where Earth-12 (the BTAS Earth) is about to be obliterated by the Anti-Monitor, Batman just happens to be saying farewell in the context of the movie — which means Conroy got to do so in real life as well. We won’t spoil what he says, at least until after you watch this:

Keep in mind this isn’t just Conroy’s final Batman performance, it’s also probably Mark Hamill’s final performance as the Joker. Hamill has insisted he will only act as Joker opposite Conroy’s Batman, quipping that without him, “crime has no punchline.”

Conroy was chosen as Batman out of an audition of hundreds for the BTAS role, and his voice became so emblematic of the character that he would play it many, many more times in other projects, including the Arkham video games and over 15 DC Animated Movies.

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 3 is available now on digital platforms; it will be released to Blu-Ray and DVD a week from now, July 23.
