Benedict Cumberbatch had been rumored to play the lead role in the upcoming Disney/Marvel movie “Doctor Strange” but it now appears that Joaquin Phoenix is the leading candidate for the role of Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon who helps protect the Earth from otherworldly threats.
“Doctor Strange” is currently scheduled to be released on July 8, 2016.
