Talk about a shadow drop: Disney has finally announced when Pixar’s Hoppers will reach the service, and it’s in less than a week. This into this.

June 3 is when you’ll gain the power to rewatch Mabel beam her brain into a beaver over and over and over, though if you prefer physical media you can do that already. The film’s focus is a college student who seeks to save a freshwater pond area from destruction at the hands of an egotistical mayor and his freeway plans.

But since she lacks the power to effect change at the state level, she’ll have to go the more direct route: by using experimental technology to become an unassuming beaver. Then she’ll blend into the ecosystem, become buddies with the wildlife and convince them to hold up the bulldozers, for they’re not allowed to break ground if rare wildlife occupies the area. Though Mabel seems to make progress, she also winds up sparking a bigger conflict…

Created by Daniel Chong of We Bare Bears fame, Hoppers is a much sillier movie than what we’ve come to traditionally expect from Pixar, stuffed from beginning to end with jokes and very little of the weepy scenes. But audiences appear to be ready for it: Hoppers was Pixar’s biggest opening since 2017’s Coco, taking in $88 million globally in its first three days. It’s also got a sterling Rotten Tomatoes rating. If you haven’t seen it yet, make time.

Hoppers stars Piper Curda as Mabel, Bobby Moynihan as King George and Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry, with a large supporting cast that includes Meryl Streep as the Insect Queen, Dave Franco as Titus, Kathy Najimy as Dr. Sam, Eduardo Franco as Loaf, Melissa Villaseñor as Ellen, Ego Nwodim as Fish Queen, Vanessa Bayer as Diane, Sam Richardson as Conner, Aparna Nancherla as Nisha, Nichole Sakura as the Reptile Queens, Isiah Whitlock Jr. as Bird King, Steve Purcell as Amphibian King, Karen Huie as Grandma Tanaka, and Tom Law as Tom Lizard. It joins the Disney+ library on June 3.
