Several websites are marking the passing of longtime animation industry veteran Gordon Kent on Thursday, March 5, 2015, after a long bout with cancer. Mr. Kent began working in animation immediately after college on CBS Storybreak. In his long career in the industry, he worked as a writer, producer, director, storyboard artist, animation timing director, story editor, and more. Among his credits include stints at Hanna-Barbera, Ruby-Spears, Walt Disney, and Warner Bros. Animation, and his resume included Brickleberry, Ultimate Spider-Man, Phineas and Ferb, Young Justice, Gravity Falls, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Kim Possible, Fangface, Plastic Man, Saturday Supercade, Life With Louie, 101 Dalmatians, Batman: Year One, Taz-Mania, Hercules, Buzz Lightyear, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Family Guy, Teen Wolf, Bonkers, The Berenstain Bears, Adventure Time, Thundarr the Barbarian, ABC Weekend Special, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Most recently, he was animation timing director at Bento Box for Fox’s Bob’s Burgers.
