Normally we don’t see this kind of thing until the home video release, but here it is for free (it’s good enough TO wind up on the disc, if it doesn’t something’s wrong). Fusion has released a full-length documentary on the making of Disney’s new hit Zootopia.

At 47 minutes in length, you get a satisfying overview of the making of the film, its revisions and the troubles during production (which they talk openly about). Everyone is involved and interviewed, including director Byron Howard, Pixar’s chief creative officer John Lasseter, co-writer and co-director Jared Bush, co-director Rich Moore, and producer Clark Spencer. We don’t always get these. It’s fascinating when they’re made available and it’s frustrating when they are absent (looking at you, Frozen).

The only reason to not watch is if you’re currently at work or if you haven’t seen Zootopia yet, in which latter case you should take care of that. If you’re at work AND you haven’t seen Zootopia, sneak out of there and head to the theater.
