Good news — we were wrong yesterday when we said Sony released nothing from their Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse sneak peek at CinemaCon. The clips the audience got to see aren’t out there, but screens of them are. Four scenes from the movie were revealed in full color and here they are below (and above you can see half of one).
A year ago at this time, Sony released five screens and promised a release date of June 2027. Miraculously, this very similar press release has the same date on it (give or take a week). Who didn’t expect a delay lasting months to happen somewhere between last April and now? They might really be on track to deliver this on time.
Getting Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse screens is always a treat because each one is a work of art. This is Miles about to get the daylights punched out of him by Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.
Are his father and uncle in a car or are they in the cockpit of a gigantic Spider-Mech? Anything’s possible when everything’s possible.
My favorite so far. We can’t hear what Spider-Punk is saying but it’s very clear what he’s trying to do!
If I had to guess, Miles’ father now knows his secret but loves him anyway. Which is a bit of a spoiler but not by much. Can you imagine the trilogy ending WITHOUT that scene?
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is helmed by returning directors Bob Persichetti (Into the Spider-Verse) and Justin K. Thompson (Across the Spider-Verse), and writers Phil Lord & Christopher Miller & David Callaham. Lord and Miller also produce alongside Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Jinko Gotoh; executive producers are Aditya Sood and Christina Steinberg.
And going BEYOND Beyond The Spider-Verse, several spinoffs are in various stages of development, like a Spider-Punk movie, a Spider-Gwen movie and (unknown if it is related) a Venom movie, all animated. A live-action TV spinoff called Spider-Noir, featuring Nicolas Cage reprising the character in flesh and blood, will premiere later this year.
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is still set for a June 18, 2027 release.
