Welcome to the 25th installment of the largest Young Justice discussion thread online! Watch Young Justice Saturdays at 10:30am (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network!

Series Description:
Young Justice: Invasion continues as the team (Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis), now led by Nightwing, and its new members (Robin, Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, Lagoon Boy, Wonder Girl, Bumblebee, Batgirl) go deeper and more covert than ever before. As team rivalry and personal conflicts arise, the team must band together to fight the real threat that faces Earth. This all-new series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based upon characters from DC Comics. Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman Doomsday, The Batman) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, W.I.T.C.H.) are the producers.

This thread is for general discussion of the Young Justice animated series and related products (i.e., comics, toys, etc.). Keep it locked at The World's Finest and toonzone News for the latest updates!

continued from Part 24

I'm reading from DC Wikia that, in comics, the Blue Beetle scarab resurfaced once in a temple in Egypt. For the show, that could easily change to the ancient 'Temple of Doom' in Bialya from "Beneath." I've always thought there was something more to that place than just a secret abductee site, especially now that we're going to be revisiting Bialya soon. Maybe information The Team finds here will help them crash Blue Beetle's mode? And also clear up the Psimon plotline, which wasn't mentioned at all in "Complications."
True, they seemed to be pointing out the caves at that site in "Beneath" for a reason. Good theory.

I hope this part isn't true, mostly because without Psimon putting a deadline on the undercover mission they might just have the series end with both Artemis and Kaldur still undercover, which would really tick me off.

But is the Reach even aware Luthor is forming his own covert team? As we know, only Vandal and Mercy knows of the plan to create one. To me it is another implication the Light is making their move to get rid of the Reach. To do that, they still need the Justice League (I think Vandal said that in the season one finale?) and by extension, the Team. As far as we know, the Reach thinks the teens were only affiliated with S.T.A.R. and essentially under the protection of the League. If this team breaks the Team free, it would look like another secret JL op to the Reach.
The Runawys are definitely unknown to the Reach, and the Light certainly plans to use them to dump the Reach somehow. However, I think that if someone were to go into Bialya and bust the Team out, regardless of their affiliation, the Reach would think the Light is too incompetent for their needs and end the partnership. I don't think the Light would want this, since I see the best way for them to proceed is to keep the Reach as partners for as long as possible while secretly stabbing them in the back as much as possible.

Besides, I'm not even sure why the Reach would outsource the Team to the Light at all. I'd think they'd rather keep them on-hand to do with as they please.

Hmm, the Reach couldn't be hiding them in plain sight, so to speak, in some holding cell on the Warworld would they? Nah...

Or were there any Reach Ships left in space after the Warworld went offline?

There's a scene in "The Hunt" (?) where Tye projects Apache Chief against Reach guards with Static. Something hovers above them. A Reach ship? That's where I bet The Team is imprisoned.

I figured that scene was from "The Hunt" as well. Looking at the Reach guards, they appear human, or at least have a whitish skin color that doesn't match the Reachmen we've seen so far.

Nah, those were the same red guards from "Darkest" and "Before The Dawn" weren't they? Could be the same species Black Beetle's host is.

But another question is what's up with that Rimbor trial and when the heck those Leaguers are coming back to Earth?

Yeah, I'm glad we got to finally catch a glimpse of the trial... but it was time tagged freakin April 2nd! What happened?

I loaded up "Before the Dawn" and they are indeed the exact same guards. I still find it strange that they have a more human looking skin-tone, however. I know that in theory there's nothing stopping the Reach from having a wide range of skin tones, but in fiction it always seems that non-human races tend to only have one.

I think the Justice League will return to Earth in the finale.

Well, I guess it gives us an idea of how long it takes for someone to travel from Rimbor to Earth or vice versa. It took Mongul nearly two months, so the Justice League's trial would've started in the second half of March. We've yet to see what happened to them after early April, and I guess that's for the sake of suspense.

I like it when they start an episode with a scene that took place before the preceding episodes - they did this in "Drop-Zone", "Denial" and "Alpha Male" as well.

People should be more concerned that Wonder girl was completely wasted in this show, did she even star in a single episode?

Blue Beetle, Impulse, Beast Boy, Lagoon Boy, Bumble Bee, all had starring roles at some point, and Tim/Batgirl are there for fanservice reasons.

But what was Wonder Girl there for?

Beast Boy and Lagoon Boy haven't really had starring roles. Garfield may have had a significant supporting role in "Earthlings", but he was never really allowed to take centre stage aside from when they showed that very brief flashback to the day of his mother's death. Other than that, I really didn't get a sense of him being spotlighted.

Lagoon Boy hasn't had a starring role either (are we really taking the line that his roles in "Happy New Year", "Alienated", "Depths", "The Fix" etc. were tantamount to starring roles?). Then again, this doesn't bother me - although he would've been the perfect vehicle for another Atlantis episode. (Disgraceful that it was only shown once in 42 episodes when you consider how awesome a location it was, not to mention the dangling plot threads concerning Orm, Mera and Garth.)

Maybe it was the lighting in the scenes. That comes more into play with CG animation but still.

Well, that all but confirms what was already assumed - that Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. would've met the Team in the companion comic. A pity that he didn't really go into any details though - the Arrow family story never really sounded interesting to me but the Marvel family one did.

He says that issue #25 will answer a lot of questions, so here's hoping it at least clarifies where Nightwing and Batgirl stand. I'd very much appreciate some sort of exchange between Wonder Girl and Blue Beetle where they both acknowledge that they're not the first to take on those titles as well.

Assuming you mean whether or not there's anything romantic going on between them, he did say "shippers are gonna fight over this one". And honestly, shippers fighting scares me. Though it's good that it's not that bad around here -- especially compared to other places.

Also, he gives a pretty good idea that Season Two will end in a similar way Season One did in the sense that there will only be a few loose ends (Missing 16 hours/What happened to the real Roy in S1) with everything else getting tied up. I would be satisfied with that. And it'd be kinda nice if Wally made an apearance in the last tie-in comic issue, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I wonder if Blue Beetle is going to take out Nightwing when he confronts him about revealing him self as being for the reach and taking out the team, I'm beginning to think this isn't going to go well for Nightwing

WHO ARE YOU!?

"The Hunt"

A day early..hmm, Asami is holding that blue tube thing Static and Flash had in the trailer.

Is that a reference to the "Power 0%" image, or an apparent lack of him?

I was putting a lot of stock in Wally being part of the inevitable Nightwing/M'gann B-plot, looks I'm set for disappointment again(although I suppose there's a very small possibility he's in those scenes, but off-screen). Nightwing looks really angry in those two pictures(most likely over her brain-blasting Kaldur), which annoys me because he has no right to the moral high ground, regardless of what M'gann did.
