Worst CN show

You guys were spared lol. That makes sense, The Annoying Orange was a very popular American Youtuber. No clue if he or Toby Turner caught in other parts of the world like that.
I was already well aware of The Annoying Orange before the TV show became a thing. It's just that no TV channel in my country picked the TV show up.

PPG 2016. no context.

i didn’t grow up with the original, but it’s reboot is such a car crash of a show. no disrespect to anyone who worked on it, but i’ve never seen a show that talked down to its audience more then this. it can’t even decide if it’s a reboot, sometimes it’s a continuation? others it’s a reimagining? at least with teen titans go it stands on its own and introduces it’s characters, PPG 2016 just expects you to already know and figure it out. sometimes in cartoons that works, you don’t want your pilot to be full of “my name is ___ and i like ___”. but in this it doesn’t work because it mainly focuses on the girls, the old show had good chunks of the episodes dedicated to the villains or other people in townsville. it almost comes off like a parody at times, that and someone’s fanfiction.

P.S: to the previous commenters here, i like problem solverz. it’s funny sometimes.

PPG 2016 does seem like something of a low point creatively, they tried for an easy hit and it didn’t really pay off commercially and certainly not (IMO) artistically. I would probably rather watch an episode of PPG 2016 than certain original series CN made, but I feel like they at least tried something new. I guess there’s a case to be made that the Ben 10 reboot was much the same, but as someone who was only passingly familiar with previous Ben 10 incarnations, it didn’t really strike me as particularly egregious.

Even as a long time Ben 10 fan, I didn't outright hate the reboot. There were a few cool and interesting things it did with the lore. But overall it was like a an omelet with nothing on it. From what I remember of PPG 2016, while its art-style is not inherently bad to look at, there were just so many questionable moments. The episode with pony scared me lol.

Problem Solverz could've been much better if the colors weren't so bright

Pre-2010, Mike Lu and Og would've been my least favorite CN original. It's so bland

Anything that hurts my eyes. Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and The Problem Solverz are so bad that I would take PPG16 any day.

Eliot Kid. Not a CN original show, but I associate it with CN because that's the channel I watched it on where I live. Horrid concept, every single episode would make you want to pull your hair out because they all have the same basic plot, Eliot and his 2 dumb friends imagines something that isn't actually real, makes everyone's lifes miserable by the end, the end. The characters are annoying, and the show in general is just painfully unfunny. The art style is decent, but the overall animation is nothing special. It came out at a time when I liked mostly everything that is animated, this was the first cartoon I actively despised, but I forced myself to get through it because Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated aired new episodes immediately afterwards.
I actually kind of liked the first episodes of Eliot Kid in 2008, but it became repetitive quickly. I wouldn't call it the worst show ever. The intro is too good for that.

The worst cartoon on Cartoon Network here was very likely Gormiti: Nature Unleashed. Everything about that was so cheap and bad.

As for CN originals, there is nothing that sticks out as truly terrible.

In terms of CN originals, PPG 2016 for reasons already stated, but in 2nd place would probably be OK K.O.: Let's Be Heroes, which is kinda disappointing as the references and callbacks are cool but the characters and voices are just annoying and the plots aren't really interesting.

As someone who did grow up with the original PPG show as well as the original Teen Titans who has seen some of both TTG and Powerpuff Girls 2016, I will say technically neither of the four shows have an outstanding pilot that gives you the best full picture of the series. The What a Cartoon original PPG shorts are good and give you the violence/comedy that is a part of the show but not really a lot of the charm that longer episodes had. Honestly the movie actually is a really good starting point if you don't know though yeah season one will give you a solid base set. Teen Titans meanwhile takes a few epsiodes to really get into. It's two "pilots" be it "Final Exam" (aka the first episode shown) and "Divide And Conquer" (the first episode made that is supposed to be it's pilot) honestly are pretty poor introductions to the show overall and aren't that good but it does pick up a lot better after it's first few episodes especially once we start getting into specific character focused episodes like "Sum Of His Parts" and "Nevermore" that really delve into the team and their dynamics.

TTG and PPG 2016 do both bank on either you being aware of these properties or simply just being silly stories and yeah also don't have intros. And though you do get the vibe off both of them pretty quickly it is easy to see why though both have their hatedom, one is honestly more warranted then the other. The thing is though I don't think Teen Titans Go deserves being the longest running DC animated series or even one of Cartoon Network's breadwinners it is a show even early on that fully knows what it is; a goofy random throws zanny shennigans and silliness at the wall that is supposed to be in your face and more a parody/satire of action comedy shows with only enough to really justify it's existence. It fully knows it ISN'T the original Teen titans and what people like about that show and is comfortable enough to acknowledge and eventually just mock the people still desiring that series even though it will never be that. PPG 2016 in the meantime treats itself far more seriously then TTG and I do feel on some level feels it is "elevating" the material and senses of the original show and trying to be a take with a real serious point even if it constantly botches what exactly that point is. TTG totally altered it's art style for the sake of cheapness and silliness and cops to that but meanwhile PPG 2016 changes around character designs to be more "progressive" or focuses more on the girls as rationale to try and frame it more as their series even though that's not how the original worked, but this one doesn't really work doing that. Like there's a weird sense of unearned superiority from the PPG 2016 team about how they do the material that doesn't exist in TTG that does show why PPG 2016 collapsed on itself so quickly despite how much CN was trying to push it. Could also be The Powerpuff Girls as even shown in the original series works in specific contexts and when you try and remove it from that totally fumbles which sadly based on this, and the 15th anniversary, and the anime and that horrible HORRIBLE CW take people still haven't really learned. Maybe enough to possibly give McCracken a chance to redo the series properly but who knows if that's still happening.

Is it me or am I the only one that has the feeling that PPG 2016 feels like another show that just somehow uses the PPG characters?

Total dramarama. It may be due to my love for the total drama franchise but i find that this show has no redeeming qualities

To be fair, I also dislike that show as well. Although to me, there are some pluses to it like the animation and art style are okay, some of the voice acting is fine and at least some the episodes are decent as well.

To no surprise, no Portuguese network picked it. Don't know what was the rationale; it eventually became the franchise's equivalent of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien over here: it had no dubs.

Woah Ben 10 UA never had a Portuguese dub? That was arguably when Ben 10 was at its peak of popularity

At least the reboot aired on Panda Kids in Portugal.

Total DramaRama also never made it to Scandinavia, even though Cartoon Network previously aired literally every Total Drama series before it in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

(The 2023 reboot also has yet to make it to Scandinavia to my knowledge.)

beautiful country, i never understood why so many cartoons don't have an european portuguese or air it delayed, when brazillian portuguese gets all the good stuff in a timely fashion (sometimes even before the U.S.)

If we're counting CN acquisitions, stuff like "Almost Naked Animals and Coconut Fred" are for sure deserving of the title lol.

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
