What are your favorite Youtube Channels in 2025?!?

How many channels do you think you're subscribed to, and how many do you really follow faithfully each week (or each day?). What are you mostly into watching on Youtube: Animation discussions? Video game reviews? Latest superhero film news?

Share your favorite Youtube Channels below!

There are some previous versions of this thread, but rather than bumping the old threads, I think creating a fresh thread made sense. But if interested, and to compare your channels (if you responded previously in years past):

"What are your favorite YouTube Channnels? (2015)
What YouTube Channels are you subscribed to? (2018)

Outside of myself (Spacething7474), to name a few:
-YungJunko
-Scott the Woz/Scott's Stash/Scott's Snippets/Scott Hates Breath of the Wild
-Nicktendo
-Eddache
-NationSquid
-Austin Evans
-The Unlucky Tug
-Thomas Theorist
-LSuperSonicQ
-Microwave Society
-PeanutButterGamer/Peebs
-Syonide
-Brutalmoose
-BHultra

I pretty much like to watch all kinds of stuff. I follow these channels pretty faithfully:

Carpetbagger
Vlogaftercollege
Peebs
Brutalmoose
Jenny Penny
TPMvids
Bright Sun Films
LSuperSonicQ
Caddicarus
Justintalkspuppets (out of these, this channel's the one I only recently subbed to)
Topi the Corgi
The Heeler Mama
Comfort Cartoons

I like:
-AllTime
-Good Mythical Morning
-Dark 5
-Chubby Emu
-List 25
-Dave Lee Down Under
-Disney Dan
-TPM Vids
-Fast Food Toy Reviews
Plus various vaporwave/liminal space/nostalgia channels such as neon dreams, utopia dreamer, and aurora heaven.

I'm going to start by comparing my answers from previous years.

Back in 2015, I said my favorites were:;

IGN - because it was as close as we would get to a new G4. Well, we got a revival of G4 since then (in 2020/2021) and neither G4 or IGN have really panned out as well as I would like.

I'm amazed at the number of comic focused Youtube channels I listed back then: Comicstorian and Variant Comics. I think I was still trying to pay attention to modern comics back then. And then there's Screen Junkies and CinemaSins. And "How It Should Have Ended". Not sure why I was into "Nerdsync Productions" back then (I still watch all of these on occasion, but they're not diehard favorites).

And then there's what I listed as my favorite Youtube Channels in 2018.

2018 is when I really started getting into Nintendo Switch videos, and from there my watching video game channels increased exponentially.

I'm still subscribed to all of these. I like how I broke up my viewing habits by interests: My "Animation discussion" channels, my "Video game discussion" channels, my "watching people play Video Games channels", my "Retro Commercial" channels.

Let's see..."HN Entertainment" dried up. ToonamiVHS (one of the guys that got me into posting my own retro commercials on my Youtube Channel), he stopped posting. "FutureGohanSSJ2" changed his name to "Jamie Snowden" (still the best "retro Cartoon Network discussion" guy on Youtube). I used to really enjoy "Saberspark", but he's drying up (and he recently said something like he feels he only has a couple years left of content he wants to do). "Game Theory/Film Theory" just isn't the same without Matpat hosting the episodes. "Toonamp" was my favorite "FoxKids retro animation discuss" guy, but he stopped posting back in 2019 (guess he decided he had nothing more to say on the subject of Fox Kids, whereas it seems Jamie Snowden is never done talking about Retro Cartoon Network).

For Nintendo Switch channels, back then Wulff Den was my favorite, but he really got to vulgar (and his brother stopped talking comic books), so....I hardly watch his channel anymore. In fact, too many of the "Nintendo Switch" commentators got too cocky for their own good (The Completionist, BeatEmUps). ReviewTechUSA had an epic midlife crisis meltdown and deleted his Youtube profile (with 10 years of posts and over a million Subscribers).

Anyway, I'll post my current favorites soon.

Currently (in 2025), I watch the following:

These ones I will watch every video they put out (or 95% of the videos).
Spawnwave (for daily video game news)
Thor Skywalker (because he does the best commentary on Star Wars)

Commentator videos I watch a lot of (maybe not as much as the two above):

Video Game Related:
Arlo. The one remaining "Nintendo Switch" commentator I enjoy, but I only have so much time, so if there's overlap, I tend to watch Spawnwave over Arlo.
Gameranx: (they tend to do PlayStation and Xbox more than Switch).
IGN- if it's a commentary video I'm interested in.

Not Video Game Related:
Captain Midnight. I'll watch if it's commentary about something I'm interested in
Channel Awesome. (aka The Nostalgia Critic) - I'll watch if it's commentary about something I'm interested in.
Johnny 2 Cellos - mostly for his takes on Simpsons and King of the Hill.
Vailskibum - if it's animation news I'm interested in.
ExtraMint - this one is kinda new but I'm enjoying.
My So-Called Gen X Life - good for the Gen X commentary and community (which I am a part of).
Weird History and Weird History Food (if it's something I'm interested in)
WatchMojo,, Ms Mojo, and MojoPlays (if it's something I'm interested in)

Retro Commercials/Recordings:
I occasionally love watching retro commercials (or retro recordings). When I get in the mood for that, I go to these channels:
80's Commercial Vault.
Dave's Archives
Rinse Repeat
Vampire Robot

The one that got me into uploading my own VHS commercial recordings, Captain B Zarre, he doesn't upload as often anymore (perhaps like me, he's run out of material from his collection).

Still get a kick out of:
How It Should Have Ended

Getting a kick out of lately:
Abandoned Films (using AI to make reimagined films)
Jar Jar Studios.
Mr. Friend.

My background music/background noise channels:
Aesthetic Lofi
Stardew Valley
Utopic Dreamer
VVM Lofie
Mellow Vibes
Nemo's Dreamscapes.

CityPopGirl
Jonathan Belle (aka "Synthwave and Chill")
Game Master TV (sometimes I want old video games playing in the background)

And.....yeah, that pretty much covers it.

Looking through my subscription list, I think these are the ones I have been enjoying the most in the current year;
- Anthony's Animation Talk; good if you're serious about silly animation
- Caitlin Riley; funny, short lo-fi comedy sketches
- CerealGeekTV; good for talking some of the less celebrated corners of American Animation seriously, mostly 80s Toyetic shows, but also some oddball works like Galaxy High School and the 60s Marvel shows (which I'm mostly not into, but it's good that they have an advocate, right?)
- Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader; good for retrospectives of older films, with a focus of Golden Age films and physical media releases, past and present
- David Hoffman; an incredible resource of historic videos recorded through the second half of the 20th century
- deepfocuslens; no frills but intelligent reviews of the latest films
- GoodBadFlicks; not as snarky as the name implies, a good overview of what might be called "b" movies from throughout the years
- HatsOffEntertainment; overviews of mainstream but often slightly left of centre or somewhat obscure TV and movies from (mostly) the 80s and 90s
- Knight Rider Historians; this might seem a bit random, but I've been watching the show this year (which may too seem a bit random) and these guys do a lot of great deep dives on the show
- MyRetroLife; can get a bit sugary about video games in a way I can't really relate, but good first hand videos of gaming in the 90s and 00s. He needs to stop pretending he didn't grow up rich though.
- OddPod; Millennial nostalgia with a UK focus, which I appreciate
- PhelanPorteous; easily my favourite to come out of the "angry reviewer" era; his content is often incredibly niche, but that's OK because I'm into most of the niches
- RedCowArcade; guys talking about games and other YouTubers. Decent background listening for me
- Secret Galaxy; feel like they may have finally run out of gas this year, but for many years they've done a lot of good basic retrospectives of 80s and 90s mega-franchises (successful or otherwise)
- TheAshTube; focused mostly on British comics like The Beano, something hitherto underrepresented on YouTube (and online in general)
- UK Cinema Retro Trailer Reels; detailed emulations of the advet/trailer reel experience throughout various points of UK cinema history

You've brought up some I'm subscribed to that I didn't bring up in my list (probably because the ones in my list are more top priotity), but anyway:

"Secret Galaxy" - I just discovered this in the last year. I watch the upload if it's something I'm interested in (they did a great dissection of "The Crow" a few months back). I wish I had discovered the channel sooner.
"GoodBadFlicks" - yeah, I like his reviews occasionally (and he points me in the direction of some hidden gems I've never heard of).
"MyRetroLife" - "good first hand videos of the 90's", yes, I agree, but I only watch if it's a topic is of interest to me.
Phelan Porteous - I'm not sure why I'm subscribed to him, I don't really watch his videos (must've been one video a few years back that caught my eye).

This is what I like about this thread - discovering similar interests and also seeing new possible channels to subscribe to. I'm now subscribeed to "CereakGeekTV", that's right up my alley, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much!

I currently have 66 subscriptions. Rather than list every single one of them so as to not overwhelm you, I'll just post a small selection to keep this post brief.

Auralnauts - They created "Abridged Series" versions of the Star Wars movies. They also do wacky stuff like completely removing the music from iconic movie scenes (making them appear comically awkward rather than epic), and they even make their own music. They also have a secondary channel, Craven in Outer Space, for their side projects.

Camille Cooke - Short comedy videos making fun of ancient philosophy and literature.

Company Man - I've been watching him since he posted his 3rd video on YouTube. He makes videos about the history of certain businesses, and will even compare similar companies that operate within the same industry.

Doobus Goobus - One of the funniest animators on YouTube. He reminds me of a time during the pre-YouTube days of the Internet where all you needed was a goofy voice and as few frames as possible to make a funny Flash cartoon.

Foekoe - I discovered this guy about 5 years ago and I still find him enjoyable, even though his output has slowed recently. He largely reviews indie games on Steam.

Media Zealot - A YouTuber who's very reminiscent of articles written on Cracked (if you ever read that website). He runs a series called "Villains Too Stupid To Win," where he picks apart popular villains in various media and shows why their plans would fail.

Punkey Doodles - A channel that primarily focuses on YouTube Shorts rather than standard videos. They take hilarious audio recordings and give them fantasy-themed animations.

Rob the Wonderful - A YouTube animation reviewer who is sadly overlooked. I discovered him way back when he was posting on Channel Awesome, and over a decade later, he barely has any subscribers. He's largely a positive reviewer, bringing to light TV shows and movies that are rarely seen and could certainly have a larger audience (ironically, just like him).

Space Duck Video - This is TeamFourStar's new channel, where they will post new skits and segments unrelated to DBZ Abridged.

ToonStarterz - A man who posts silly reviews of animated movies and TV shows using his own goofy doodles.

Thank you so much!

You're welcome, glad to have you stop by! Feel free to keep on discussing old (or new) AnimeSuperhero.com (Toonzone) conversations on your channel!

What I check daily:

Cinemassacre - James has slowed down but I still watch new AVGNs.

Conan - Classic Late Night With Conan O'Brien clips from the official source.

Johnny Carson - Self explanatory.

Looney Tunes Songs - A bunch of compilation videos of "every time (this song) is used in Looney Tunes".

Matt J. Wilson - Former member/mod here has taken to video game reviews lately.

MST3K - The official MST channel, which has been uploading full episodes and bonus features lately.

RiffTrax - See above. They've slowed down on posting full movies lately, unfortunately.

I've been big on retro video game channels lately.

Jeremy Parish - Probably some of the most in-dept coverage of the early days of gaming. His coverage of games and consoles that never left Japan cover topics that most other sources have never even touched.

The Gaming Historian - he doesn't update too often nowadays, but the video he did are some of the best on their respective topics.

GTV Japan - Another real good resource for history. His Yume Kojo '87 video is one of the most important Youtube videos on Japanese pop culture ever

Designing For: He does some real fun teardowns on video game design, particularly for Rare games from the Nintendo 64 era.

Wresting with Gaming - A good channel that makes parts of video game history a bit more accessible.

Did You Know Gaming - Another great channel that goes into the nitty-gritty of gaming history

NESComplex: Hasn't updated in a while, but his videos break down not only the history of the games, but the games themselves.

Classic Gaming Quarterly - Another less active YouTuber, but his videos give good snapshots of what the games different consoles had at their launches were.

Sega Lord X - This one's less about history (though there's plenty of that), and more about his personal experiences and musings with Sega games, though he also covers Nintendo and other consoles.

The Lonely Goomba - He does some real funny content with retro games, mostly focusing on Nintendo handhelds.

Besides that:

Doobus Goobus - My favorite indie animator at the moment. His cartoons isn't as pretty as Helluva Boss or Amazing Digital Circus, but they've made me laugh a whole lot more.

Fully Ramblomatic - Yahtzee's current series. He's matured a lot, and his coverage of modern games is very introspective. His reviews give a good idea of games to check out.

Lately I’ve been binge watching videos from Chilling Scares. I like how it’s informational and well edited and not just the same half a dozen stories over and over again.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
