WBD Acquisition Thread

I think I blame paramount of using the song: ONCE IN A LIFETIME, for getting this nightmare approved

This also puts Paramount buying IDW like I wanted off the table, it was an acquisition IDW sorely needed, and Paramount won't do it now that they have DC, which is likely to score the comic book licenses of Star Trek and TMNT from IDW, dealing a further blow to that company.

Now I’m worried David Ellison is just going to shut down/merge redundant assets, lay people off, and sell either the Warner or Paramount film lots.

Also, just because Netflix said they declined to raise their offer doesn’t mean they’re backing out, yet the news media is making it sound like that.

Don’t the WBD shareholders still favor Netflix?

welp, theres goes the hopes and dreams of the following:
dc comics overlay at marvel island
looney tunes ride at toon lagoon
willy wonka land in the lost contienet

wait, wrong forum site

I also assume Hasbro exits DFC, and takes their programming with it, and in turn seek an acquisition by another major media company unrelated to Paramount and WBD, with NBCUniversal as my choice (which would lead to Universal taking over the GI Joe and Transformers film franchises from Paramount at Hasbro's direction).
Hasbro on Nick, one can dream. Considering Kindernet NL aired MLP: FIM

Also, I wonder Paramount will deal with Six Flags to keep Looney Tunes/DC Comics in the future.

Nick co-produced Transformers: Earthspark.

And they have Peppa Pig in the US (that show is distributed on US home media by Universal, which if NBCUniversal bought Hasbro would make Peppa Pig an NBCU IP, and since it is British, Carnival Films and Television, best known for Downton Abbey, would begin co-producing).

Ironically, Six Flags now owns the former Paramount Parks.

Uh huhuhuhu, hey Beavis, I think the tv's broken or something.
(yes i quickly put together this image lol)

Pattern

Paramount (then Viacom) bought MTV and Nickelodeon from Warner in 1986, and in 2026 it buys the whole Warner company.

In 2001, Disney bought Fox Kids, and in 2019, 99% of the Fox company.

Even I don't think Beavis and Butthead are ready for their first Adult Swim incursion :P

Unless MTV starts airing Rick and Morty reruns long after the merger. TBBT will become under Paramount's roof.

well, maybe firepuppy will be happy to see hasbro shows to be removed from discovery family
I sure will!

Moreover, the channel is currently vulnerable to a now bankrupt investment from Hasbro:

Which means, goodbye Hasbro; hello, Nick! Or, the whole channel will be terminated.

rick and morty vs beavis and butthead interdimensional cable!!!!!!

This doesn't change Paramount still being my favored studio to adapt Sega properties (although two are being adapted by Universal instead), given that they used to be sister companies under G+W and the fact that Paramount has seen success with the Sonic the Hedgehog movies.

Bayonetta would especially be good for Paramount to adapt (and unlike some other recent adaptations of M-rated games, an R-rating is a must).

If this merger gets approved, seeing two of the Big 3 kids networks under one roof is INSANE.

If only Universal Kids (likely under a new name if Versant took over) continued (but without the weak schedule), but I doubt that there will be a rising star network like The Hub was at the beginning.

Honestly im pumped. The schedules will be insane. My head cant wrap around the possibilities.

Adult Swim can really air Daria, Beavis and Butthead, Aeon Flux, The Maxx, The Head and many more...
Nick can air hits like Adventure Time or even obscure stuff like Juniper Lee now and LooneyTunes again...
Comedy Central can air Rick and Morty or Smiling Friends...
Cartoonito can air Dora...
NickJr. can air Batwheels...
CN can air Hey Arnold...

But it's not likely that any of those channels will ever air My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which has been on Discovery Family for too long now, and should just move exclusively to streaming, like in the rest of the world, including Canada.

Also, Comedy Central used to be a joint venture of HBO and MTV Networks, which was the reason why Paramount and WB worked together on the South Park movie. Surprisingly, international prints of that movie didn't change the line "you can still see fart jokes on Nickelodeon" (there is actually much truth to this statement, if The Loud House is any indication) to "you can still see fart jokes on Cartoon Network" (there's truth to that statement too, with evidence including Adventure Time, which Nick ironically passed on, and Teen Titans Go!).

Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
