WBD Acquisition Thread

I have the feeling Trump might be also behind all of this. With the recent scandal regarding firing one of Netflix's board members, Susan Rice.

I already had a "loss" with Game One's closure, no idea if I can handle this too... (Thinking that there are chances that Warner TV Next could disappear aren't nice.)
I hope Boing is safe, since Mediaset has half of it.
I hope so too... Channels, shows becoming lost because of a malicious buy-out...

Paramount: finally wins this bidding war

Warner Bros.:

(just joking)

Expect more CN feeds to shut down or merge, at the best.

Once WBD already considers it a superior offer, doesn't that mean that the shareholders are considering it's better?

In addition, Netflix officially gave up, they won't counterbid, they don't want to do it anymore.

The important parts from the Netflix's announcement I did share:

"However, we’ve always been disciplined, and at the price required to match Paramount Skydance’s latest offer, the deal is no longer financially attractive, so we are declining to match the Paramount Skydance bid.

Warner Bros. is a world-class organization, and we want to thank David Zaslav, Gunnar Wiedenfels, Bruce Campbell, Brad Singer and the WBD Board for running a fair and rigorous process. We believe we would have been strong stewards of Warner Bros.’ iconic brands, and that our deal would have strengthened the entertainment industry and preserved and created more production jobs in the U.S. But this transaction was always a ‘nice to have’ at the right price, not a ‘must have’ at any price."

So it's over, Netflix gave up.

Wait Paramount is buying the company for 111 BILLON DOLLARS?!

Some important library notes:

Paramount gets back the Popeye cartoons 70 years after selling them to a.a.p. as well as the 40s Superman cartoons

Films which were co-produced by Paramount and WB will now be under one roof worldwide, notably South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut and Interstellar

Now Disney buying 21st Century Fox might not have been bad.

Get this, WGA, SAG AFTRA and the Animation Guild will go on strike. And WBD shareholders will still probably vote on March 20th to block the deal leaving them no choice but to continue the split.

The 1940s Superman cartoons are actually in the Public Domain (in the USA at least).

Also, this would consolidate most of the rights to the Friday the 13th film series (though Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller still own underlying rights).

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
I don't know I gonna post it but i think I may had spread the disney abandoning blue sky studios like they did with fox kids/jetix propaganda onto awinger24 and now hes fears of paramount & warner bros
