WBD Acquisition Thread

Again, it's not verified. Only posting it for the source of the conversation.
there's a couple things that make me doubt this claim

the main one is how Adult Swim merchandise has the WB shield on it. if you weren't gonna keep the IP, not sure why you'd keep putting your iconography on it

also RegularCapital has said that Williams Street is apart of WBTVG, and I'm more willing to listen to someone who has built connections with people within or adjacent to WB as opposed to a random reddit comment.

See Lowell’s post above and it is much as I could say.

Good luck to all of you.

It don’t change a course that WBD and Netflix have agreement in place that give Netflix a favored position until Netflix walk away that would be very major event.

Patience is keyword and you have to wait for while to see Netflix to make a decision.

Post multiple news don’t change very much if Netflix didn’t walk away but it made some members anxious because of uncertainty.

Netflix, WBD and Paramount don’t read the posts in here.
Yeah, other than confirming Skydance's newest offer was $31/share, its breakup fee increased to $7B, ticking fee starts this September, Zaslav managed to zip the Ellisons' & Redbird's lips on tantrums over Global Networks's valuation from this point:

"As part of its revised bid, Paramount agreed to exclude the Warner cable networks from the agreement’s “material adverse effect” clause, meaning the deal’s price tag won’t shrink if the linear TV networks business declines in value before the close."

This is by no means a guarantee because the WarnerDiscovery board still have to thoroughly review the offer before determining whether it's superior or not.

Yup, if that was the case according to that random Redditor, Zaslav would've actually changed up AT&T's reorganization moves a while ago but no, the CN, Adult Swim, and probably Boomerang & Cartoonito trademarks are together with CN Studios & William Street under WB Television.

All channel operations are grouped together in Global Networks with no other internal content production operation for CN & Adult Swim.

If Streaming & Studios retain the library and production entities, those IPs and brand copyrights are following them as well.

Global Networks would need some form of licensing agreement with S&S to utilize them and there's no source of credible proof here that corroborates that Redditor's claims.

There's no source at the moment. I have no idea if the person is an actual Adult Swim employee or not.

This is the exchange someone had with the person. Could definitely be plausible, especially when they need a library and studio to make shows and the like, but it's not verified.
I've asked about what would happen to productions whose claimant was "Cartoon Network Inc." in American copyright office public records, on this thread before. If they are not taking over the CN brand and corporate company, this seems likely.

Williams Street is the in-house production company of Adult Swim USA and facilitates the (co-)production of Adult Swim's original programming; I don't even know if Williams Street is under the U.S. Networks division or the Warner Bros. Television Group.

Their current programming is copyrighted to The Cartoon Network, Inc. (which also includes programming produced by Cartoon Network Studios, which is part of the Warner Bros. Television Group), but what if Williams Street gets separated from its current original programming (excluding contractual obligations regarding not-yet-ended programming) following the separation of Warner Bros. Discovery?

Cartoon Network Studios, however, will not be separated from its original programming that is owned by The Cartoon Network, Inc. once the separation is complete.

Yeah, I highly doubt Netflix would drop a successful part of the company like that. Going independent or with Discovery is going to have major repercussions.

As Camping My TV Set said is that it's not really a reliable source.

I am also obviously bored and overwhelmed by following the process and the thread.
Same. I'm just getting really tired of people that so and so will salvage the company or part of the company, especially from places like on Reddit or something.

I have to agreed with grphx, r/mediamergers fell off when they become fear mongering and break all laws of gravity

There was a brief mention of the raise offer of the takeover on the business segment of Newsroom Tokyo on NHK World today

What do we have here...

A Paramount and Warner merger would come with a huge amount of debt there's no way Paramount can continue operating as if everything is normal.

I thought it is violation of NDA for WBD employees to share about which properties would go, so WBD and their public relations has to release the official statement, not ordinary employees.

I don't believe about what redditors are saying, also there were few members who imposters to be WBD employees to get us to believe the false statement, so I didn't buy their story.

All of 11 states are republican-run, so not surprised.

It don't derail the Netflix enough, tho.

yeah, at this point, I love to see David elison gets exposed like John mctiernan

I'm curious what WBD will say.

I for one still want Netflix to be the one who gets them. But that depends on what the shareholders think, mainly...

omg, Paramount skydance, please give up, I have enough, we don't need another disney/fox disaster (the one that took away blue sky studios and have a monopoly), if you want something from them, please take hbo max instead
