Sorry if this topic has already been addressed, but I couldn't find much on it in my brief search.

What video game magazine do you prefer, and why?

PC Gamer
I enjoy the editorials, the letters, and the articles. Plus I've been reading it since only about less than a year after it started up.

I used to like Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) back in the day, though I stopped purchasing game magazines after I got the internet.

I'm not particularly fond of any of them, but GameInformer seems the most reasonable to me. EGM is by far the worst, as they do absolutely nothing but insult their target demographic and can't seem to write anything without sounding extremely arrogant.

I highly recommend UK's Retro Gamer magazine, they talk about retro games obviously, old consoles news from the past, retro stuff in general and even newer stuff like new games that are retro like Contra 4 or based off old franchises like NiGHTS JOD etc. In the US you can get it easily at a bookstore like Borders but the price tag is usually a bit pricey like most import magazines.

As a kid I really enjoyed Mexico's Club Nintendo, not sure how the quality of it is now.

EGM is the best magazine in the US IMO, it hasn't been that good for quite a while now which is sad that its still the best magazine in the US.

Nintendo Power since its re-launch more than a year ago has been pretty good again rivaling EGM.

Tips & Tricks I only enjoyed reading the last 6 pages of the Magazine that included cool stuff from japan, video game collections and other unique stuff that no other magazine did but now they got rid of it...

Next-Gen was a pretty awesome magazine, It was very different and probably the best gaming magazine but sadly it stopped production around 2001.

PSM is a horrible magazine I kept subscribing to it since it was so cheap but i absolutely hated it.

OPM was only good for the demo discs.

Dreamcast Magazine was a good magazine but it died just like the DC did.

Gamepro I really enjoyed reading as a kid but for the past 10 years everytime I pick it up even for just nostalgia its pretty bad.

thanks for the responses.

i was thinking about game informer, because at gamestop today it was $15 for a subscription, and u get a discount on used games and extra value added to your trade-ins, but i'm not sure

I picked up a Gamepro today and I'm not kidding--there was a page in there about "Hot Celebrities" that included a picture of Zac Efron.

Boyyy, is that mag bad.

I like EGM for their articles, but I don't like the way they do their reviews (namely, three seperate reviews from three seperate reviewers, none of whom have enough space to make a decent point and all of whom use half of what limited space they have telling the other two how wrong they are). So I get Game Informer too.

Once in a while I'll browse through/pick up an issue of Nintendo Power. Since they seem to be getting better, I might send in an order.

I quit subscribing to Nintendo Power a while before the N64 died, but I recently started subscribing again. Seeing as how Nintendo is the company I support the most, I find all of their information informative and enjoyable. Info on other systems? Eh, I can just look up the info online.

I started getting Nintendo Power way back when it first launched. Between what I have here and what remains back at my parent's house, I have almost every issue except for those that came during the brief period when my brother was custodian of the subscription (like a true Sony traitor, he let the subscription lapse while I was away at college :p ).

In the beginning, I enjoyed NP for the maps, tips, and assorted walkthrough type segments. Nowadays, I use it to keep up on what's coming and enjoy it for the humor of its regular staff writers.

I like the UK magazine nRevolution a lot, since they talk about a bunch of DS games (my only 'current' console), maybe more than Nintendo Power does!

It arrives here like a month late and sometimes talks about games I can't find but I'm not one to buy games exactly when they come out anyway.

I don't subscribe to any magazines anymore, but whenever I go to bookstores I usually skim through the latest issues of Play (mostly for their anime section), PSM, Games TM (lots of retro stuff!), and Game Informer.

Magazines I used to subscribe to at some point: (note that I'm estimating the amount of time I subscribed to them, as my memory's fuzzy)
-PSM: 3-4 years
-Nintendo Power: 6-7 years [FIRST SUBSCRIPTION]
-GamePro: 3 years
-GamePlayers/Ultra GamePlayers/Game Buyer: 3-4 years
-Mac Addict: 2-3 years
-Next Generation: <1 year

My last subscription was too OPM about 5 years back for about a year, and i did subscribe to Nintendo when i got my N64, so ive got a good 30 some issues in a cabnent in my storage or in SC with my folks.

Now my bro gets Game Informer which is pretty decent, and i read them when i go to see him. But after a while, it felt more like a chore to read mags than to enjoy them, which i got outta them quick...

When they do it properly it's the best review system around. The three reviews aren't meant to be separate entities. They work in conjunction with one another to give you an overall view of what the game is like and whether or not you would like it. Granted, the reviewers do waste a lot of their space with nonsense, but when they don't the result is excellent.

Maybe that's the theory, but I've never seen it work too well in practice.

Nintendo Power's recent issue (with the Sonic RPG on the cover) has a Lost in Translation article which includes 4 games we won't get, 2 for licensing reasons: Both Jump games, and both Ouendan games.

I like reading Nintendo Power....Probably since I mostly buy Nintendo games, though I also enjoy the writing....

I rarely buy any game magazines. I do have a 1yr subscription to EGM, but thats only because it came free with GameCrazy's MVP membership.

Other than that I get my gaming info from the web.

Game-Pro used to be good, but recently they've started going downhill. But,my subscription recently ended, and didn't bother to re-subscribe.EGM seems cool to me,but I've only collected a few issues, but not really ever subscribed.I'd say Game Informer is my favorite. They usually detail their reviews and sneek-peeks at upcoming games. But my subscription ended right after my Gamepro, back in the summer time.

Now,years ago I used to subscribe to PSM,but after 05 I pretty much quit.Do you guys think I should resubscribe?

Every now and then I'll pick up an Official PlayStation Magazine or a Nintendo Power(usually if something on the cover or something I find interesting is on there)

And Norway's unbeaten streak over Brazil continues thanks to their 2-1 victory that led them qualified to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals (second round, first round is the round of 16) tonight.
Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
