FUNimation grabs D.GrayMan

They'll make an official announcement come Monday, but for now, here's their webpage on it:

http://www.funimation.com/dgrayman/

Interesting thing is: The video on their website is stretched and cropped.

Hm...

This is the talkback thread for FUNimation Licenses "D.Gray-Man".

Heard of this one, but haven't seen it. I didn't realize it had some many episodes and was still currently running.

Cool, D. Gray-man is another Shonen action series I been want to see for a long time. FUNimation does it again.

Seen some of it and liked it. Hope Funi does a good job with it.

Well its about time somebody liscensed this. Honestly, I was about to think that Viz was going to take it away. Glad Funi got to it first.

So....Gintama....anyone

Sweet. I've been meaning to check out D.Gray-Man for awhile now so this will be a good chance to do so.

Well I'll definitely watch it if it gets on [as].
I've seen a few episodes but decided to drop it.

And...Doesn't this show suffer from filler.. majorly?

This is a complete shock yet predictable since it's been over a year since the show started. I guess the stretch of non-canon episodes and episodes canon to the Reverse novels back in 2007 was deterring companies to license the series, and I can't blame them. The series was dragging a bit last summer, but now it's better than ever. I wonder what kind of television treatment D.Gray-Man will get. I wish this would air on Toonami, but the idea of exorcists using crystals from God to vanquish demons would fly with CN. Oh well.

Roughly all the episodes during the second opening are filler, but the series vastly improves afterwards.

Plus, there's stuff like Krory's fight with Jasdevi, where he powers up in a non-Toonami-friendly way.

Blood armor

I hope d.gray man gets on adult swim but with the cut back anime and how long the series is it seems unlikely

Aren't those based off of the D.Gray-man novels? They're not completely filler, I think.

I watched the first thirteen episodes, but I couldn't continue. It deviated too much from what I pictured in my head when reading the manga. Also, I didn't appreciate the constant use of speed lines in battles. But I hear it improves, so don't take my word for it. I really love the series.

A few of the episodes are based off novels, but only a few.

And if you want to see what it's like later, here's a bad AMV (complete with subtitles, and you can even hear audio from the episode at some points during the song, gg AMV maker) of a certain Lenalee fight (super spoilers).

Well this is exciting. I'm always for another JUMP series making its way to the States, and FUNi seems like the right company to handle D. Gray-Man.

...Now if only we could get them to license Gintama , then all my hopes and dreams will have come true. Well, all I can think of at the moment, anyway.

Perhaps he could use his Junpei Iori/Edward voice to get into the character that he might voice. Like Allen.

Well I'm glad that FUNi isn't neglecting Shonen Jump titles. I only read the chapters that were in Shonen Jump preview. For some reason I got a FMA vibe from it (not sure why though) and thought that if this was ever made into an anime, FUNi should license it. I might read more of the manga to get a better feel for the story.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
